According to Turkish sources, today there are no offensives of the Ukrainian army in the Zaporozhye region.

The Russian army counterattacked and advanced to the areas where the Ukrainian army approached the Russian fortifications.

The Ukrainian army suffered heavy losses due to the exposed positions and the unexpected Russian counterattack.

🇬🇧🇺🇦 Khodakovsky reports that Novodonetsk has again come under the control of the Russian army:

“Unable to break through our defenses, the enemy considered his position unfavorable and began to crawl away from the captured positions. Yesterday, at the end of the day, Novodonetskoye was almost completely in his hands, with the exception of a few streets - at the moment we have restored control over the settlement. Losses on our part turned out to be much smaller than they could have been with such an aggressive onslaught. Domestic communications worked reliably, imports were put down immediately. Today, the situation is at the level of the usual background - apparently, there is a regrouping."

🇷🇺🇺🇦 As a reminder, just a few short months ago Western analysts were saying that, for Russia to do this, would be equivalent to “blowing its own foot off”. They now want you to forget that and just blame Russia while ignoring that:

1. Once the reservoir finishes draining, the river will be much smaller and easier to ford by the AFU.

2. The flooding is forcing the abandonment of Russian defensive positions as well as the destruction of minefields along the River.

3. The destruction of the Dam means Crimea loses its water access.

The strategic benefits are obvious for Ukraine; up to this point Russia could economize in the Kherson sector, as the wide ranging river with no bridges precluded any serious amphibious assault.

By doing this terrorism, they’ve now created a realistic threat of such once the flood waters recede, which will divert Russian reserves to cover this sector instead of allowing them to be used against the Ukrainian offensive further East.

🇷🇺 Breakthrough of the dam of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station - what will happen to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant: expert commentary

There is a person among my acquaintances who is very well versed in the matter. And I asked him to make a comment, what could be the consequences for the Zaporozhye NPP of today's breakthrough of the dam of the Kakhovskaya HPP.

Here is the original text:

"At the Zaporozhye NPP, the spent fuel pools and the reactor in the MCU mode (minimum controlled level) are cooled from special" splash "pools, they are located on land and are clearly visible from the satellite. There, water circulates in a closed circuit, gradually evaporates from heating by the sun and it is simply topped up (not from the river).

The cooling pond is separated from the Kakhovka reservoir by a dam and has a couple of gates for "receiving" or "draining" water (depending on the level difference).

The pond is large, I don’t remember a single case when in the summer there was a decrease in the power of the blocks due to the high water temperature in the pond. The pond is divided by a partition into 2 parts, so that water can be taken from one place, and the water that has passed through the turbine condensers can be drained to another. Water "walks" around the ring and cools.

In any case, the Zaporozhye NPP will operate only with the 5th and 6th blocks for the time being, and this pond will definitely be enough for them.

If there is a problem with water, one or more plastic pipes will reach the place where there will still be water in the reservoir and this will be enough to solve it. In this case, you just need to compensate for evaporation and leakage in the reservoir."

The Turks believe that the APU carried out dam explosion for the following reasons:

1️⃣In order to mislead the Russian military about their own plans

2️⃣Fearing a Russian counterattack in the Kherson region

3️⃣An emergency situation in the demolition team

4️⃣Political considerations on the recommendation of the British, who will create a media opportunity out of this

This is how the reason for leaving the right bank of the Dnieper to us last year looks like. If the group had not been withdrawn, it would now be cut off from supplies. If not for Surovikin, we would have lost tens of thousands of our professional paratroopers, real fighters and professionals.

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦 Dams like Nova Kahkovka are protected by the laws of war and the Geneva convention for a reason. According to Article 56 of the 1977 Additional Protocol I:

“Works and installations containing dangerous forces, namely dams, dykes and nuclear electrical generating stations, shall not be made the object of attack, even where these objects are military objectives, if such attack may cause the release of dangerous forces and consequent severe losses among the civilian population. Other military objectives located at or in the vicinity of these works or installations shall not be made the object of attack if such attack may cause the release of dangerous forces from the works or installations and consequent severe losses among the civilian population.”

Taiwanese mercenaries bleeped each other.

Taiwanese mercenary Cheng Xi was wounded by a grenade fragment on 04/17/23, not in combat, but during a long-standing conflict with another Taiwanese mercenary, Pan Liwei.

Both mercenaries were recruited through connections in the French Foreign Legion, where they had previously served together and had already clashed.

Pan Liwei was the first to arrive in Ukraine, and in September 2022 he was recruited into the Bravo squad and Chen Xi.

According to Chen, Liwei tricked him into talking to him and met with three grenades. Chen was injured, but another Taiwanese whom Chen brought with him to the rendezvous ended up in the hospital with shrapnel wounds to his lungs.

Liwei was detained by Ukrainian police and could be sentenced to 15 years in prison.

Chen himself had already fled back to Taiwan in May 2023.

The population of Ukraine is now 29 million people, another 8.6 million are refugees who went abroad and never returned.

Such approximate figures are shared by the Ukrainian Institute of the Future. Of the 29 million remaining, only 9.1-9.5 million people work, about 1 million are under arms, taking into account the monthly losses of about 15 thousand people, about the same number of disabled people, the demographic hole in the country will only grow.

At the same time, the fertility rate has already fallen below 1, while for population growth it should be more than 2.

"If nothing is changed, within a few years there will be twice as many pensioners in Ukraine as employed," analysts says.

🇬🇧🇺🇦 So far, we really saw 3 abandoned AMX-10s and how yesterday American armored vehicles exploded on mines and caught birds.
We are waiting for proofs for leopards, even if there are not 8 of them.
And I also understand correctly that they knocked down the composition of the whole brigade in one day at the briefing?) After all, why feel sorry for them.

According to Turkish sources, the newest 28th and 31st mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian army, trained by NATO, are also participating in the Ukrainian offensive in the Zaporozhye region.

Today they have lost about 400 personnel and about 70 pieces of equipment. Since yesterday, the losses have exceeded 800 people.

Among the destroyed vehicles are at least four AMX-10RC heavy cannon armored vehicles. Although there are reports of the loss of three M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles and one or two Leopards, this has not yet been confirmed.

Russian troops continue to carry out airstrikes, shelling with artillery and MLRS.

The beginning of the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Zaporozhye is accompanied by reports of the loss of senior officers.

The administration of the Bolgradsky district informs that on June 4, while performing a combat mission, the head of the department of the operational command "South", Colonel Alexander Makaev, died.

The circumstances are not disclosed.

According to Turkish sources, the Ukrainian army is attacking at five different sites in the Zaporozhye and Donetsk regions with the forces of the battalion. The attacks involved 12 infantry and three tank battalions

Losses amount to 16 tanks, up to 40 armored vehicles, losses in killed and wounded up to 300 people.

Today, the attacks have intensified, and the number of attackers has increased dramatically.

If this growth continues tomorrow and we see NATO-made tanks, this will mean that an offensive with decisive goals has begun.

Russian aircraft and attack helicopters are operating more intensively than yesterday.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine are trying to concentrate their artillery power in these areas.

Ukrainian aviation practically does not appear, the use of UAVs is high, and almost all of them are quickly shot down by Russian means of electronic warfare and air defense.

Fierce battles and shelling continue in the Zaporozhye region.

The Sunday Times published an important article about the latest Ukrainian offensive:

Although the Ukrainian Armed Forces have 200 Western tanks and hundreds of Western armored vehicles, the Ukrainians rely more on Russian weapons and face logistical problems due to lack of ammunition, worn-out guns and dismantled vehicles for use as spare parts. They have learned to use western weapons, but this is the easiest part of the battle, the application from a military point of view is much more difficult.

Ukraine also suffers from inefficient systems for evacuating the wounded.

Ukrainians also suffer from the pace of combat training, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces quickly enrolled thousands of soldiers in Western training programs, but this is not a well-coordinated and comprehensive training for combined arms operations.

The Russians still use a familiar form of fighting as they rely on defenses from behind sieges and elaborate defensive fortifications made up of minefields, barbed wire, tank traps and old trenches to slow down attackers and direct them into "firebags" where artillery and heavy machine guns are used to destroy them

The newspaper warned that the Ukrainian offensive could upset the "political balance" to the point of irritating Putin and prompting him to escalate, for example, to use nuclear weapons or otherwise.

Putin tends to overreact when he needs to make decisions quickly

Regarding messages from the enemy that "there is no offensive."

Since so far the enemy has not been able to capture significant settlements during the attacks, he has already laid a straw for himself in advance if he cannot take anything significant. In this case, after the failure of the offensive, it will be possible to say that we did not declare an offensive, therefore we did not capture anything. But if they can take something, then they will later declare that this is where the offensive took place.

The enemy simply does not want to step on the same rake as with the "counteroffensive near Artemovsk", which lasted from May 10 to June 1 and did not lead to the occupation of at least one village. Here, the Armed Forces of Ukraine turned out to be hostages of their own propaganda, which rattled incessantly for several weeks about the "counterattack near Bakhmut" and which later turned out to have nothing to show against the backdrop of defeat in the battles for the city.
