if there's anything else i remember i'll put it here.

Hi Hermosa,

Congratz for the birth and successful journey.
Can you pls answer this question? need the answer urgently, because I also plan to go to ontario.
1. For birth registration & birth certificate do you use the online 4-in-1 Newborn Bundle (https://www.ontario.ca/page/register-birth-new-baby)?
2. How long does it take to get the birth certificate (long & short) after giving birth?
3. How long do you stay in canada after giving birth until going back to naija?
4. I also want to use the premium service for long & short birth certificate. The term & condition for Premium Online Certificates (https://www.orgforms.gov.on.ca/eForms/eForms_faq/serviceStandards.do#section3) states:
The event must be registered by the ORG and in electronic format at the time the application is received. It takes approximately 16 weeks from the date of birth, 10 weeks from the date the marriage and 12 weeks from the date of death to register the event. Your request for a certificate will be processed after the registration is complete.

How to register the birth and apply for birth certificate premium service? Did you do it on the same day OR request for a birth certificate after the birth registration completed (16 weeks?)?

I need the information urgently to determine the date of my flight's return tickets.

Thank you.

Please my people, dont allow me to talk and type too much via my email or here. Plz if you cannot read 31 pages to find simple information like dr information then dont email or ask the question again. Lets avoid repeating things.

I visit this thread to answer any questions to the best of my ability. The only emails i will be replying is that of those who has given birth and need my contacts no at the embassy cuz i cannot put his no here. Also those who r looking for accomodation. Other than these 2, any other questions should be asked here only when u have gone through the pages and feel you dont understabd or what you are looking for is not there then u can ask it here so others who has passed through it can help as well nd others learn .

Thanks

Hi Hotstepper,

1. How much is the cheapest apartment/house rent in GTA?
2. Have you ask your husband about my question before? the administration/procedure to get birth certificate with the help of notary public?

It doesn't matter. My family friend was already preggy when she applied but she did online application and there was nowhere they asked if she's preggy or not so she didn't indicate. She wasn't called for interview either and was given 4 yrs visa.

Now to the info everyone is itching to hearsmiley this is not MHIS Cuz Canadian system is different since our health care is free. Lemme explain.

So for her,

1. Dr fee was 750
2. Hospital was 2500 per day and she stayed just a day nd it's CS Ooo
3. Anesthesia..640

Total is 3890 CAD

The baby paid nothing because immediately he was born, he's Canadian so his health card which was given immediately at the hospital made it free. All the specialist that came to check him like eye, hearing etc was free. So this is the part that in US that adds up cuz baby have to pay.

@Hotstepper
Thank you for all the info that you've shared.
I have few questions: (please help)
1. She used Humber River Hospital for the detail above right? (but now the hospital move to new building with new addy at wilson ave?)
2. Who's her OBGYN?
3. As I remember, you said you usually refer family friends to one of the 2 doctors you know right? It's Ayodele Kayode, Dr and who's the other one?

Thank you.

@wayinoma
thank you.. But, at least can u please share the hospital cost in detail first? because I really need to do the math:

1. Did they charge you x1 night ($3900) or x2 nights (=$7,800) since it's a CS?
2. How much approximately TOTAL money you spent for hospital & doctor (at least until now)?

I'd really appreciate it.
thank you

Hello everyone,

I need help about information of giving birth in Canada.
Right now my wife is 25 weeks pregnant.
At first, we want to deliver our child in US, but we change our mind wanting to deliver our child in Canada (after a brief study about US citizenship vs Canada citizenship)
I have read a bunch of this Giving Birth In Canada thread.
I really grateful that I found this thread. And I really hope that someone with experience will help us with our issue.

Right now we have 5 years US tourist visa and we will apply for Canada visa soon.
We have no relative in Canada.
My wife choose C section to deliver the baby.

Can u please help about these questions:
1. Where is the cheapest, easiest to manage the issue (doctor, doctor's medical letter, hospital, accommodation, transportation, etc) & most comfort city for this issue according to your opinion?
2. How much is the C section total cost there? (Hospital + Doctor + laboratory + baby, etc?) with the estimated breakdown please..
3. How much is the cost of renting apartment / any other kind place to stay per month there?
4. What is the best time to arrive in Canada before due date? and how long after delivery can we go back home?
5. Living cost (food, transportation, etc) per month?

Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
