I was about to conclude that naigerians(some) just love criticism(negative) and complains.kenyans would be very happy with such a project. n believe u me,abuja needs the 10 lane superhighways. or r u waiting for the city to be crowded like lagos and once again u complain of poor plannin.some of us need to style up.@landowner cool smiley cool

Mwanamwiwa,

Heko na hongera kwako. Una roho ya uzalendo kweli. lakini sisi wanaija twajua uchumi wetu ni kubwa zaidi kushinda ya Kenya. Ni mpango tu hatuna (kiswahili) otherwise  you can get several Nairobi size cities in one state in Nigeria. What you have in thes picture would be comparable to Ikoyi only or Victoria island but not the entire megamoth city of Lagos. It is way above Nairobi.

aaah it seems that even our national language is doing great. I bet not many kenyans can speak any native language in Naija. Ur r absolutely right. Kenya ni inchi ndogo, uchumi mdogo, na miji zetu pia ni ndogo. I will be happy when naigeria will wake and realize her potentials. Personally i love naija, For us we hope that in our tinyness we will be able 2 make our lives n those of fellow kenyans better.

The gap between poor n rich here is very big. n so I do not despute that the buildings we see are owned by a few pple. But 60% of our skyscrappers r owned by the govt( u can prove me wrong if u want) n there 4 they belong to the common mwananchi- the tax payers.
NB I wonder why there is alot of cheap politics from some naijas! Who said Kenya is competin wid Naigeria. Naigeria is huge we can never get near. If if we do, ua govt need a whippin

Politics / Re: Nigeria Less Corrupt Than Kenya I Suppose by volina(f): 8:12am On Jul 13, 2009
certainly there is alot of corruption but less than it was 10 yrs ago. In 2007 i got a good job with the Govt. Actually 300 of us were employed at the same tyme. 80% of us never new anyone in the govt. We dnt bribe, However we dont have to proof our innocence to anyone. Let the worlr(read Africa) think of whatever they want. Bt i know soon they will get a rude shock of their life. Am talkin from an informed point of view.

Why is Nairobi International airport the size of Enugu airport. Wetin airport in Kenya na compare Murtalla Mohamed airport or Lagos for size? these pictures go make small Nairobi look big abe? these are beautiful photos, but of few buildings and repeated over and over. Kenyans na be small ooh but talk big!!! grin cheesy

now u got that one right, our airport is very small, just like the size of our country and our budget.Thats why we feel that Nairobi is such a big city when compared with mighty countries and nig economies such as naigeria

trason:

Guys dont be fooled  Kenya is not a bed of roses as they saying here sombody is trying to promoto tourism . I have been to nairobi and mobasa the roads are worse than nigeria roads

To an extent i agree with you. Kenya for so long has had bad roads. Bt again it depends on when you were in Kenya. For the last 10 yrs Kenya has concentrated on improving our rural roads since majority of them are gravel and earth roads. Currently we hav eso many bituminization projects going on. Since our country depends on Agriculture and tourism alot of money is going to the opening up of rural areas. You will be amazed that most of our class E and D(Which are mainly rural roads are being tarmacked.

For some time our highways have been undergoing periodic and routine maintenance, (as we divert money to rural) but now major road constructions are underway. For instance Thika Road is being expanded to 8 lanes and 2 serface lanes for bikers . once the road is constructed it will be on its kind in central and east Africa.
Finaly Kenyan budget is too small, our economy is nothin compared to Naigeria. N if u put that into consideration, then u will b able to appretiate our roads.

, all african cities have an ugly side.I dnt see anything wrong with this pics.similary the best places look gorgeous, @kenyan star u beta cud b in kenya during 2007 elections, the situation wasnt different. Most of us were buying airtime through MPESA or our mobile banking.

@ omonaija, ha! u make naigerians look like pple of little sense.Thank God ur not their spokes person, Why dont u show us those beautiful places in naija ur talking about.(iccidentaly they r also selected areas), Fortunately most of us will appretiate. We r Africans n we got to be proud of our cities.Who said we r competing with naija,

@Ikeyman, don't worry, just leave them.

Both Nairaland and Skycrapercity are sites which I view daily for the last two years (before this thread was created).

On that site there is a Nigerian section which shows all the new developments and improvments which are coming and to come out of Nigeria, I have never seen these posters there, unless they use different usernames ofcourse. I think Volina's user name is the same on that site, along with massai and a few others.

Yet they feel compelled to join a Nigerian oriented website and create a thread about Kenya,

Have you seen any of them in any other thread on this very site? Excluding of course the "ugly pictures of Lagos", or "why do West Africans hate Nigerians".

Dont mind them at all, just leave them to post their pics.

you r right and wrong at the same time.True most of dem use different user names. Secong we did not start this thread.it was started by a nigerian. we got used to this kind of a beef(which the origianal creator of this thread never intended. Enyway we should (as africans) team up and promote the good side of Africa. It is sad that Nigerians and Kenyans never get along in almost every thread. Personally ave commented on so many other threads on this site. However we feel we own this thread coz it describes our city.

@iffygurl, we come from different regions and our understanding of english may differ.Am not sure i called u slow, i used the word IF, to me this two letters make the difference.Whatever u though , am not sure.I agree with u that every city has the bad the good the ugly and the cute. I would not assume that the whole of naija is a total mess just like the way i can assume the whole of Nairobi is prety. We got slums, our roads compared to naigeria r just but foot paths. But one thing i know all those photos r real.I also want to believe u dint visit every part of nairobi. At the same tyme we r not competing my dear,We only wanna show the good side of our cities. This coz the outside media has always concentrated on the negative. Now baby gal be good let us see those photos of victorian island and those prety places in naigeria.Am sure they will do us justice!

Ifygurl:

I went to Kenya, Narobi because of these pictures. The place was beatiful, but the pictures in this forum can be misleading cause damn, it ain't exactly as the pics here. In reality, it reminded me of old Abuja. And seriously, Kenya people you guys weren't as friendly as i always picture Kenyans as. You guys were mean as hell even people in market places, not friendly but they still try. I just later learnt, when i taught people were trying to be insultive or mean. I learnt it's just their way of talking. So in reality, they weren't trying to be non-friendly like i taught it was their attiudde was different from the attitude i'm used to.

But in overall i had fun. And to Naija ppls, i plan on going to another African country. Give me another one that seems to be fun but please, make sure you put the pics to go with how the place is in reality.
I liked Narobi and i enjoyed the place but the pics in this forum mislead me alot.
But at least i got to see Narobi.

What do u mean when u say the photos mislead u, u neeed get to see all this places.Life in Kenya is so fast n if ur abit slow(am not implying u r) u may think guyz r rude.Every time is business tyme. But on friday nites all the way to sunday nairobi comes alive. This is the best tyme to tell if Kenyans r social.Ope u also visited maasai mara and Mombasa.
