franchasofficia: But still, there is one great thing about most Yoruba ladies; independence and enterprising nature.
Yoruba ladies are more hardworking, diligent, and enterprising than Yoruba men. And you know, most men dislike these independent nature in a woman as they see it as masculine trait.
An average Yoruba lady don't care much about her husband's wealth compared to an average Igbo lady.
Yoruba woman hustle for their own money even when married unlike most Igbo ladies. This is another reason why divorce among Yoruba ladies is higher than Igbo ladies because most Yoruba married ladies don't like depending on their husband for money, so whether their husband gives them or not they don't make it a top priority which makes them walk out of bad marriage easily than Igbo ladies who love to depend solely on their husband for money and for that find it hard to leave their husband even when being maltreated.
Also if you come to gender equality, Yoruba culture practices this more than Igbo culture. In Igbo culture, a girl child cannot inherit things in her father's ancestral hometown but in Yoruba culture, a woman can. igbo men are much more committed and responsible in marital affairs than most yoruba men. An average yoruba man actually didn't pay his wife bride price before marriage. The highest you see is just introduction compare to igbo men. An average igbo men knew that if they didn't marry their wives properly the children belongs to her family not his. Yoruba women also made themselves too cheap and readily available to their men reason why they're being treated like nothing. Single mothers are rampant in yoruba because their men are too loose. They easily get them pregnant knowing there won't be any consequences unlike the igbo culture. Igbo don't get pregnant before marriage. It is forbidden. Yoruba also practice polygamous marriage unlike Igbos. They marry more than one woman but ordinarily they can't take care of one woman. It doesn't cost yoruba men anything to throw away his wife load outside because he married her cheaply and he knew he can get another one cheaply. Unlike igbo men. Apart from the fact that igbo men are much more committed and responsible in marital affairs. They will never exhibit such behaviour of throwing their wives out with her properties. They understand what they went through before marrying her. My advice for yoruba women willing to settle with a yoruba man. Firstly, did the guy love you dearly? Is he educated? At least first degree? Is his parents still together or divorce? Don't marry a poor Muslim guy o!! You go suffer eh! And they believed once they get small money na to replace the first wife. How does his father treat his mother? Avoid Muslim guys if you know you can't share your husband with another woman. I believe a Christian yoruba lady that open her eyes wide open to marry a Muslim guy should know what she has signed for. And for the Muslims ladies that doesn't have a choice but to settle with a Muslim guy. Make sure he's very much educated and well exposed, raised topics pertaining to polygamous and hear his views. Not all Muslims guys like marrying more than a wife though but you cannot guarantee that because it is permitted in their religion reason why it's better to avoid them completely like a plough. |

@Sapasenator
Firstly, I'm sorry for calling you out on a dead thread. I'm completely exhausted and i hope you can take little time out of your busy schedule to read through.
I am the first son of my parents. I had 3 other siblings. I lost my father when i was 14. To the glory of God, i graduated 2021 from university as the best student in my department. I completed my service December 2022. Ever since then, I've not been able to secure a descent job. I served in a public secondary school and i was retained after service. My take home was nothing to write home about but i was hopeful of a better tomorrow.
A friend advised i applied to US graduate school for MS or PhD. Initially i was sceptical because i was financially incapacitated but later summoned courage. I wanted to put in for GRE but i couldn't raise the money. I applied to 3 schools in US and i got admitted in two schools with 50% scholarship and i was waitlisted for the 3rd school (PhD program). I have sent my official undergraduate transcript from my alma mata in Nigeria and passport. I am expected to send statements of account as proof of funds to cover the outstanding deficit before issuing me i-20. I reached out to a Nigerian student in the same department of the school I'm processing. We exchanged contacts and we've been in comminicado. He told me most people work POF including himself. He didn't get funding during his time. He linked me up with the person that helped him got his. The person requested for #200,000 service fee to help me process financial documents. I'm yet to raise the money and i have limited time to send my POF to the school for my i-20. I've also applied for TA and GA to cover the outstanding deficit which i believe I'd get hopefully.
I work as a classroom teacher here in Nigeria and my monthly take home is #25,000. It's a public secondary school. The school principal had tried helping me got absorbed as permanent/government teacher but it didn't work out. Probably because i didn't have education background. I've been able to save up #80,000 so far. I can only get my i-20 after sending my financial statements. Your support would be a huge relief and mean a lot to me. I'm also planning going into cassava, maize and vegetable farming. I live in a rural area with verse hectares of land for farming and real estate but i don't have capital for this project. I had to device means of helping myself and family. If i could get a capital or loan, i can start with 3-5 acres of land. This would most likely help my family as a source of income. My siblings and aged mother look up to me and i honestly don't want to let them down. Please sir any help you can offer would be grately appreciated and mean a huge success to me 🙏
PS: i can send all the documents relating to my admissions and funding including my international passport as proof.
Regards |

Fallacy
You don't need all these in saner clines. Your being successful isn't tied to anyone.
Same holy quoran made it known that your mother's happiness is the ticket to aljanah (heaven). It also stated that take good care of your mother 4 times before mentioning father once.
Besides, most fathers do pray for their children daily in Nigeria. |

Please I really need your advice on how to go about this matter that is really eating me up. We went on a normal date with my girl whom I have proposed marriage to and she accepted it. But in recent time I have been telling her to come and see my parent but was like we are not yet ready, I don't understand it.
Today we went out and she opened up and started telling me areas of my life which she's not really comfortable with and I should improve on them. When she was done she said she needs us to slow things down for now.
I don't really know how to go about this right now. Please I really need your advice on it. I really love this girl and wants to settle down with her. We broke before and reconcile after two years, and we been back for like 6 months now.

Family › Re: Is This Enough Reason To Divorce My Wife? by VTJN(m): 12:36pm On Jun 24, 2024 |
saasala: I laugh when I see matured men bring their marital issues to Nairaland hoping to find answers.
Most of the replies you would get here are from kids who are unmarried and under 30. They dont know what it is to be married.
I saw all their comments and I wasnt surprised. Whenever a married man comes to say something, they are always quick to shout "Divorce her, she is olosho, go and do DNA" They will call your wife all sorts of names and tell you she is riding a thousand dicks outside and if you allow their comments to enter your head, you marriage is gone forever.
Now back to the topic. It is highly irrational of you to even think of divorcing your wife because she posted a comment on Facebook. Most women who cheat dont show the signs. Most cheating wives dont post on social media, they dont even look like it. That is why it always comes as a shock to the husband because he never saw it coming.
Having said that, it is very normal for your wife, my wife and other thousands of wives out there to see a fine d1ck on the internet and just imagine riding on it. What is not normal is actually going out of their way to ride it. The human mind can imagine so much rubbish. She is within her right to like a big d1ck and fantasize. You fantasize too when you see a socculent breast and yansh. I bet after she left that comment, she forgot about the post, the d1ck or even her fantasies, she just put that comment and went about her usual activities.
I can bet my left leg your wife is not looking for a big d1ck to ride or planning to cheat on you. Her only issue is coming out to talk about her fantasies on social media. Her fantasies are better left in her head.
Just warn her and tell her to be careful what she posts on social media.
Divorcing her cos of this trivial thing is madness sir, i am within that category of under 30 but i don't reason like them. @advanceDNA is always fund of making wrong comment misleading Ignoramus married men. They thought marriage is for kids |
