Your name might be similar to someone else

The Gaza question was asked to some other applicants they placed on AP as well
And there where not issuing straight approval
It’s either outright deny or placed on AP

I think this administrative processing is only happening at the US consulate in lagos, I don't think I have seen those who were put on AP recently at the Embassy in Abuja.

No one knows what the time frame is, my Ghanaian friends got an update on their AP within 14 business days but that's not the case here, only one guy on this thread got approved in 15 business days.

It’s not only in Lagos, my interview was in Abuja

I had my interview on May 2, did not witness any straight approval, and I was also placed on the administrative processing along with some other people, the VO collected my I-20 and returned back my passport and said I don’t need to do anything that further information would be communicated on my case.
My question is who has pass through this new administrative processing thread and ideally how long does it take ? Should I be expecting weeks or months ?

I was offered a Ph.D admission for Fall of 2025 but the offer letter didn’t contain any info about funding. Pls how am I to go about securing funding.

Yes, it's normal. It could take up to 4 weeks or more and in other cases lesser.

I made visa payment by using the online transfer method to first bank and no mrv receipt was generated for me. I am stock at this point. I don't have the reference number to move forward. I have been going to first bank since on Friday. How do I resolve this issue?

You didn’t input your email address when transferring the money? The receipt was sent to my mail I put after transferring my payment last two weeks.
Again most times your your amentun reference no is mostly same with the references number on the MRV receipt

Hello, is there anyone that still has their application on pre-approval stage since November 2024 and if there is how can we get our money back since the avits visa system is all screwed up? I applied for my sister last November but her application has been on the pre-approval stage since then. I have emailed them several times, created multiple tickets but nothing has been done. I just want to know how I can pass this.

Actually during my own payment, though I used the EFT( bank transfer method) to pay for my visa fee, the receipt was emailed to me immediately after the payment and I was even unable to download the receipt as the website just kept rolling…

As at last two weeks, if you pay with transfer, you should get a confirmation in like 24 hours.

I manually signed my I-20 form and i paid for my sevis fee before i even started my visa application.
I think there check the Sevis fee payment wg=hen u upload the I-20 with your SEVIS number
