The defender was left out of the club's 1-0 win over Manchester United but will return to the fold against West Brom this weekend

Antonio Conte has confirmed David Luiz will return to Chelsea's squad for the Premier League trip to West Brom on Saturday.

The Brazil international was left out of the 1-0 win over Manchester United prior to the international break amid reports of a breakdown in his relationship with the Blues boss.

But the defender is set to be involved at the Hawthorns and will join a fit-again Gary Cahill, who sat out England's recent friendlies with a back problem.

While Conte confirmed Michy Batshuayi will miss the match with an ankle injury, he would not be drawn into specifics surrounding the decision to drop David Luiz.

"It was a technical decision and every single player has to react well and accept my decision. It's normal," Conte said at his pre-match press conference.

"I do not like to speak about a single player. I like to speak about the team and the next game. This is most important."

David Luiz's absence against the Red Devils afforded Andreas Christensen another opportunity to shine as the young defender enjoys a breakthrough season at Stamford Bridge.

"It is positive because last season, I didn't have this opportunity to rotate," he said.

"This season I have another opportunity because Christensen is showing he's an important player for us. He is showing great maturity."

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has been named the Premier League manager of the month for October.

The 46-year-old beat Mauricio Pochettino, Arsene Wenger and Sean Dyche to take the award for the second time in a row and third time in his Premier League career.

City have maintained their impressive form this season as they remain unbeaten after 11 games in the league.

Starting the month with a 7-2 win over Stoke City, the Etihad Stadium outfit team kept up their incredible Premier League form with further victories over West Bromwich Albion and Burnley scoring 13 goals along the way.

Those strong displays have carried on to November as Guardiola's started the race for this month's award with a 3-1 win over Arsenal, after beating Napoli 4-2 in the Champions League.

City are eight points clear of second-placed Manchester United in the Premier League with 10 wins and a draw and hold a lead of three at the top of their European group.

They pay a visit to Leicester City on Saturday before welcoming Feyenoord in midweek.

A PDP chieftain and immediate past Speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martins Azubuike said that the shortest route to producing the much talked about Nigerian President of Igbo extraction in 2023 is to support President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term project.

Azubuike, who is the Abia State Coordinator of a pro-Buhari group, “Ndi Igbo for President Muhammadu Buhari 2019” maintained that Ndigbo stood a better chance of producing a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction by supporting and working for the emergence of Buhari as the President in 2019.

The former Speaker, who spoke shortly after the inauguration of the Abia State chapter of the group, stressed the need for Ndigbo to massively support President Buhari’s second term bid which he said would enable him to correct the wrongs of the past.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has rejoined Manchester United on a one-year contract after the Swedish star's spell with the Premier League side was curtailed by a serious knee injury last season.

Barcelona are to sue former player Neymar for £7.8m over an alleged breach of contract in the wake of his £198m move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The amount is understood to relate to a loyalty bonus Neymar received after signing a contract extension in October 2016.

"Barcelona decided to take these actions in defence of their interests, after a unilateral termination of contract urged by Neymar Jr a few months after signing the renewal until the end of the year 2021," a statement read.

Marcos Alonso scored twice as Chelsea ruined Tottenham's first Premier League game at Wembley by grabbing a late 2-1 win.

An own goal from Michy Batshuayi had looked set to rescue a point for Spurs, but Alonso -- who had scored a superb first-half free kick -- fired a low finish through Hugo Lloris at his near post with two minutes to go.

Antonio Conte defended the caution he has shown with Chelsea's record signing Alvaro Morata and revealed that the striker is ready to start against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Sunday.

Eyebrows were raised on the Premier League's opening weekend when Conte opted to start with Morata on the substitutes' bench and Michy Batshuayi up front against Burnley, who capitalised on Chelsea red cards for Gary Cahill and Cesc Fabregas to claim a shock 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge.

Morata provided one of the few positives of the match for Conte, replacing Batshuayi in the 59th minute and contributing a goal and an assist to Chelsea's ultimately vain fightback from 3-0 down, and the Italian afterwards faced questions about why the £58 million signing from Real Madrid had not made his starting XI.
