Hello everyone.....I am one of the silent (background) member of this forum until I registered about a week ago. I stumbled upon this forum whilst on the wait game for my application.

Here's a brief of my story; studied for my MA degree, 2013 in the UK where I met my boyfriend turned hubby (we got married 2016 Nov). I have made several other applications for 6 months, and 2 years visas which expired after my spouse visa application in March, so I had some sort of travel history (travelling constantly to visit boyfriend when turn fiance, fiance con turn Hubby).
Last year Nov, we came to Nigeria together for the wedding, and immediately after the wedding, hubby had to jet back to work; we haven't seen since then.
Made my application in March cos as Nigerians (especially those still living with parents (guardians), pressure was mounting (when you go go na? you done dey stay too long o...abi na money be the problem....) Its been almost 8 months since I had seen my babe, but this week, I will be flying to the UK. To say I am overjoyed is just putting it lightly, it's been a long journey.

On the 13th June (date visa valid from), Hubby made a call to UKVI asking what the status of the application was...and they said it was assessed April 28th, but no decision has been made. The next day, I made an email inquiry cos I couldn't just keep calm (after all the plenty posts of people from this forum and other forum when apply getting theirs). Yesterday I got three emails (it was as if the flood gate of heaven had opened upon me)....so here goes....

Country applied from: Nigeria
Visa Category applied for: Spouse-wife (Non-priority)
Online submission: 13th March 2017
Biometrics done: 17th March 2017
Supporting documents submitted: 29th March 2017
Agency office: Abuja
Office processing visa: Sheffield
Projected timeline: 12 weeks
Decision made email: 15th June 2017
Date visa received: 16th June 2017
Visa vignette valid from 13th June 2017 to 13th July 2017

I am overjoyed, beyond words....I appreciate this forum and wish every one still waiting good response in Jesus name...

Hello everyone,
I have been following this thread for a while now but as a guest and I must confess it has been so helpful.
My story its going to be a bit lengthy but I hope it would help and encourage someone.
Before I finally settled in the UK, I have been coming to visit since I was a child as my Dad was resident there then. I was not opportuned to be a British citizen because my mum happens to be a second wife that the british would tag to be a "mistress".

In 2014, I came to the UK for my masters and was really hoping I would get a company to sponsor me on a tier 2 visa. I contacted the CIUK after reading numerous success stories and they were so eager to help but unfortunately I couldnt afford the £4000 they wanted then and my dad was not so keen about it. in 2015, I was just going through the UK gov website when I saw that you can not be registered as a British citizen if your dad is a citizen and he is not legally married to your mum. This would only cost me £80 so i felt there was no crime in trying.

I told my parents about it and we all decided to give it a trial with my 3 other siblings. We had a DNA test done at Kings college Hospital to proof paternity. we submitted the application in september and got a positive response in december. we had our citizenship ceremony in January and applied for our passports.

Fastforward to this year. I got married and hubby applied for his spouse visa following the details in the thread. and WE GOT A BIG YES!!!
NB. I was working for an agency and I was been paid using the minimum wage for over 25. I was so skeptical about our meeting the financial requirement but i kept trusting God for the best.
Our timeline is as follows:

06 March 2017 - Submitted Application online and made payment.
10 march 2017 - Went for Biometric at VI and posted document to Sheffield using DHL
13 March 2017 - Documents received and signed for in Sheffield (Tracked this using DHL tracking number)
05 April 2017 - Automail requesting for supporting documents by sponsor. (Hubby replied using the Contact us link on their website)
08 April 2017 - Message from sheffield asking for reasons for escalation.
04 June 2017 - Decision made (Tracked this using the new link posted on this forum)
07 June 2017 - Supporting documents returned to me
12 June 2017 - TLS accessed and ready for collection
13 June 2017 - Passport collected with Visa.
ALL GLORY TO GOD![/quote]Congratulations to you Minnienellie24 and Hubby....
