cry, I hurt for Naija! But the problem goes deep into the fabric of our society. I read and hope it is true that president Buhari ordered the military check points decommissioned and soldiers back to their barracks if so thank God. All over the world, soldiers only have a presence in the community in an emergency and when ordered either by the president or governor or in times of war. I believe that they have got to see themselves and their value to Nigeria in a better light to make sense of their roles and the people's expectations of them. We can talk till we are blue in the face about corruption, if the soldiers don't get a salary when due, the government is essentially opening the door to corrupt practices for them. This undesired situation is further encouraged when the periods of no salary is lengthy. Think for a moment, how do we expect them to pay their bills, care for their families, and so forth. There always are bad apples in every bunch, we must however, weed them out and preserve the rest.
