Politics / Re: NNPC Fixes Pump Price For Dangote Refinery, Sells Petrol ₦950 Lagos, ₦992 Abuja by waveman2: 10:39am On Sep 16
Tinubu is actually a plague and a pharoah to Nigerian.Dangote has come out to say he can tract product all the way to filling stations which will eliminate smuggling an yet you cannot do direct crude for petrol to ease the burden on Nigerians. How many Nigerians can afford 1k per liter fuel? Everything in the economy has gone up.APC is really a curse to Nigerians but I don't blame them I blame people that even gave them 1 vote because of money and ethnicity.

bdon123:

That is not true...landing cost for lower quality pms is around 1100.Government was subsizing to bring it to around 700.Why cant govt subsidize jst 30% of wat itwas doing before to bring it to around 700.bear in mind we were subsidizing for neigboring countries too bt that will all become a thing ofpast...therefore cost of subsizing will be far lower. Its either that or giv dangote cheap crude to exchange for products.

Why don't u direct your frustration as a teacher to the people that has caused the hyper inflation instead of poor parents?

The only way the price of petrol can come down is through a stronger naira which will definitely not happen in the first four years of Tinubu,s regime.

Don't mind the idiots, they think oando will just bring out that kind of money to buy Agip even if the fund is there.

Believeintruth:

The same Afrexim whose chairman was investigated over the loan given to TGI owners of Titan trust for the acquisition of Union Bank. What was Oando's condition before the loan was given to them? How can a company knee deep in debt be able to secure a loan. Can't you see the hidden hand that made them secure the facility? It was clear they were going to get Agip because of the person backing them, so to secure the loan from Afrexim was easy.

See we know this game very well you cannot play coy with us

Politics / Re: NNPC: We Are Selling Petrol At Half The Landing Cost — But It Is Not Subsidy by waveman2: 3:42pm On Aug 20
That is what THEY said.Subsidy was never gone it's there but APC now calls it shortfall.so you must get used to this new word.

GanagiBitrus:

Are you saying it is IMPOSSIBLE to bring down fuel price?
Politics / Re: NNPC: We Are Selling Petrol At Half The Landing Cost — But It Is Not Subsidy by waveman2: 3:32pm On Aug 20
In a country where you import everything with a weak currency the govt must subsidize and there is no two ways about.whether you give subsidy to what directly impact the life of the masses like transportation, food, electricity, etc some things must be subsidized.

nairalanda1:

Thanks, but subsidy has to go. Otherwise, our debt , and the whole mess we have on display now is going to continue.

The old USSR Used to subsidse food, and they had regular scarcity. Nowadays, no subsidy for food in Russia, the shelves are all full

People won't do anything for cheap. The idea that we could have cheap subsidised power is why we have issues.

Good afternoon, and don't let my facts make you too upset for nothing. This is a site.
Politics / Re: NNPC: We Are Selling Petrol At Half The Landing Cost — But It Is Not Subsidy by waveman2: 3:28pm On Aug 20
People said they are selling the product at half the price it's landing and you still dey ask make them crash the price. The govt is careful not to use the word subsidy but the truth is the product is still subsidized by NNPC,whether u call it shortfall or what ever name they want to call it.

Crashing of the naira made subsidy to come back.May God help Tinubu and Nigerians.

GanagiBitrus:

If this is not subsidy, then what is it?

Anyway whether you call it Shortfall or Palliative is not even the main issue. The major concern is that Govt should do everything possible to crash the price of fuel, which will in turn curb inflation.

Politics / Re: Economy My Priority Now, Tinubu Tells Anyaoku, Others Seeking New Constitution by waveman2: 8:13am On Aug 10
Without a constitutional review all these will not happen as any president will come and fail and even be worse off than his predecessor.

hotseat:
Those who could read between the lines know that Mr President is more focused at the moment at revamping Nigeria's ailing economy and improving the general well-being of its citizens than the clamour for a constitutional review.

Although not unmindful of the need to have a constitutional review, having one at the moment when the economy is comatosed, appears diversionary.

First things first!

If the economy begins to take proper shape, inflation drastically reduced and peace and security relatively guaranteed, I can bet it that the issue of having a constitutional review would take a back seat.

Let's give Mr President a chance!

This one na bot chatgpt.

Philipponzaghi:
Tinubu is on the right track! Focusing on economic reform first is a strategic move. A strong economy lays the foundation for any constitutional review. Let's give him time to implement these changes; prosperity will follow. Unity and stability are key, and it seems he's committed to that vision for Nigeria!
Politics / Re: Full Text Of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Nationwide Broadcast by waveman2: 11:01am On Aug 04
Tinubu should find immediate solution to food security by opening our borders so food items can come in.There is insecurity in the north farmers cannot go to their farm hence rise in cost of food items. His speech is just full of what he will do in the next two years when most Nigerians would have died of starvation.Cost of food items in the market is beyond the reach of the common man.

Even in countries where there are refineries existing they still import fuel.so I don't understand all the noise dangote is trying to make.He should be talking to the govt about how to remove bottlenecks to enable price of his product competitive, like excessive taxes etc what he did with cement he wants to repeat it with his refinery.
