I was at the GTech yesterday and the atmosphere was great BUT it felt like a home game for Ghana. Their fans outnumbered us at least 2:1. That advantage, the fact they were 2 goals down coming into the second half and the introduction of Senior Man and Musa is what made Ghana edge the second half of the game.

Also from about 60 mins, Pa Bonu or whatever his name is, the guy on the right side of attack for Ghana was able to easily receive passes on the edge of the Nigerian final third and cause problems. Why? Because the left side of our midfield was holding a position too narrow, leaving just enough space wide on the pitch for opponents to run into. Either Simon Moses had to drop in to support Bruno and cover that space when we were out of possession or a forward player had to be sacrificed for an additional midfielder.

Learning stuff like this is what friendly games are all about though.

What's the point of this celebrating these when the people that you allow to lead and represent you are the worst criminals around?

Will people like Mmesoma one day lead even a local government in Nigeria?

Nigerian masses will continue to get what they deserve for their docility and stupidity.

With the exception of a few hardworking and dedicated players, let's primarily use home-based players going forward. Regardless of the outcome, we can guarantee that they will put in their best effort. Nigeria has never been accustomed to this style of laborious football. Win or lose, we present ourselves well. The majority of this current crop of players is more concerned about their image than making sacrifices for the nation.

And when they perform well how long will the home based remain home based?

I've never understood why what this man says is relevant to anyone. What makes his statement newsworthy? Who is he and what makes his views important to note? Please anyone?

And this is a sample of the electorate tasked with voting in a competent government and holding it to account?

Democracy is a great idea only when the masses are at least literate and semi enlightened and certainly not when they are made up of a majority of buffoons.

Forget APC, PDP etc the majority of Nigerians are just extremely dense, seeming brainless. Especially those based in Nigeria. They are Perhaps the most short sighted people on earth and are highly skilled at being blasé about what ought to be the most crucial determining factors in their sorry lives.

Waste of time. Everyone knows that monkey lookalike Oshiomole is the Governor. They (APC) opted for this waste man to front for them as he's so freaking dumb he will never pose a threat to them. I watched the entire 90 mins of this game and that easily qualifies for a top 2 worst Super Eagles performance in living memory. Please don't let the fact it ended in a draw deceive you. Benin really were the better side and should have won convincingly. It was so glaringly obvious who the better managed team was.

Who to blame?

Eguavoen has had several auditions and has serially proven not to be cut out for it at this level. Iwobi and Ndidi in a 2 man midfield? Starting with 3 centre backs but with no idea how to progress the ball through the lines? Not a single attempt at creating overloads on the Beninoise full backs, they did that to ours several times? Really really poor.

Iheanacho is finished at the top level. After he inevitably gets offloaded by Sevilla he will disappear into the ether. I don't see how he gets interest from a top flight team in any big league.

Bassey cannot be a guaranteed starter. He's all brawn no brains, very aggressive but no real physical qualities to talk about, not fast can jump ...simply not good enough to be starting every game. He's still young so might improve with time.

Iwobi also cannot be a guaranteed starter. We've seen his performance ceiling, it isn't very high and he hardly ever brings it to the party anyway.

Gabriel Osho was very very poor. I think it was a good idea to see him in this sort of game and the nerves of making his debut might have got to him. Maybe he gets one more chance. We need to try out a few more players here so his invitation was welcome.

Osimhen needs 5/6 clear cut chances to convert 1. His finishing for club and country are not worth the hype he gets. The best part of his game is his hard work, physicality and athleticism but against strong, athletic African strikers they don't leave him with any change. Remove the 7 goals he scored against Sao Tome and penalties against the likes of Sierra Leone and you'll see where his real stats should be. We still need him for his hard work but we need to remeasure our expectations. His goal today was his first for Nigeria since the AFCON opener against Equatorial Guinea in January.

This is caused by subsidence. The ground underneath your foundation is unstable and so your house is 'sinking' into it in an uniform manner. It's fixable but a bit expensive.

Me and a few guys, about 8 if us stayed in a hotel in Nigeria for a week when we visited a few years ago. All our bills were added to the room tabs so on check out our bill was in the millions, can't remember exactly how much now but must have been about 3-4 million.

The receptionist was meant to run the computerised check out and give us an official invoice but of course that morning the computer had a glitch and so they had to write the receipt (biro and paper style like INEC) and we had to pay in cash. In the previous days we had been checking with them ON THE COMPUTER what the bill was and there was no problem. They said we can wait sha and see if the computer will work but they knew our flight was in about an hour and a half so we won't be able to wait.

I can bet my life that that whole money was not going to be remitted to the hotel. Poor hotel owners kpele guys.

In the early to mid 80s an older relative started a side hustle fast foods business. This was before fast foods were as big as they are now. Due to the businesses success he opened up more outlets in the city and obviously had to employ more staff. From that point on none of the new outlets were profitable. At the end of every day the workers would say they only sold 1 or 2 meat pies etc.

In fact what the workers were doing was they were making their own meat pies, bringing them to work and selling them instead of the ones they were employed to sell. Sometimes they were found to have sold 100 of their own meat pies and sausage rolls before even selling ONE from the business stock! Not long after, all the outlets had to shut down due to unsustainable losses.

Our driver those days was caught using our car as a taxi on the way home after dropping me off in school.

We employed a houseboy when I was about 16. On his first day I was talking to him as he was only a bit older than me and about the same height. He was telling me about how he was a guy man and the only thing he can never do is steal from people. Okay no wahala. We left him at home that evening and when we returned all my clothes had disappeared! Even the ones on the washing line my guy had stolen everything and never to be seen again to this day!

Another older relative was a top executive in a bank and was building a house. He didn't have time to do the running around for materials and payment of labourers etc so he was relying on his well paid PA to help. In the end it was found that said PA was building exactly the same house elsewhere. For every material my relative needed, he was quoted a price for 2!

This was a criminal call. Something has to be done about this issue asap before it causes serious problems and it eventually will somewhere.

It's okay to be ultra defensive and play with no ambition whatsoever. It is a totally different thing when a team's sole intent is to destroy the game as a spectacle for viewing fans and spectators all over the football world.

The Libyans should playback that game and rightly feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

Whilst in our earlier meetings with them in the 1990's and 2000's we routinely achieved success against Bafana Bafana, in those games they certainly did the playing...... unfortunately for them we did the scoring.

We were able to do this because the individual quality we possessed was enough to force a result our way irrespective of our relatively chaotic approach. This is actually why their support base always wanted to face us again and again. They could understandably feel their revenge was just around the corner. They couldn't and didn't really accept we were better the better team.....we were 'just winning'.

Fast forward to the last 10 years and Bafana has recognised and doubled down on their comparative and competitive advantage i.e. the sourcing of their players makes it super easy to maintain a team of players who though are not world beaters in their individual capacity but decent enough to compete.

In summary the quality differential of the PLAYERS from supposedly superior teams has become more and more insufficient in compensating for the gap team chemistry.

Although simplistic, this is the crux of the matter with this particular fixture for us. The technical analysis of the actual game will follow.

The referee was incompetent, but I don't think he decided the game.

Not much to analyse here, CIV dominated every facet of the game. Our outlet long balls to Osimhen was frustrated by the referee.

Aina wasn't great but one on one against a relatively fresh Simon Adingra for 90mins is not an easy gig, he will definitely be successful with a couple of deliveries.

Ekong has matured into a proper leader. We have missed this for some time now. Musa can now be thanked for his services through the years.

As for Osimhen, he has scored 1 goal in almost 270 minutes of football.....and that goal was from less than a yard out lol...fair play to him sha for recognising he was too overwhelmed by the occasion to take the penalty against CIV. It takes a big man to admit any vulnerability.
