Nairaland / General / The Inspirational Interview Of 23 Year Old Dr Ola Orekunrin, A Must Read by Wazobia(m): 7:07am On May 18, 2010
Ola Orekunrin the “Flying Nigerian Doctor” – An Exclusive Interview that will inspire the blind to feel, the lame to move and the Critics to Act and Nigerians in Diaspora to take ACTION inspite of …,

She is in her early twenties, 23 or 24. She is of Nigerian parentage, fostered by a white British. She chose to study medicine and graduated as one of the youngest ever in the United Kingdom. She is a NIGERIAN and had only ever being to the country that gave birth to her biological parents only once, and that was when she was young, before she ventured into a business only Hollywood script writers can dare to conjure.

As a result of the tragic death of her 12 year old sister, due to the problems of absence of critical care transport facilities in Nigeria she started to think more laterally and came up with a business idea that inspired her to spend approximately 9 months saving half of her monthly salary and immersing herself in books about management, business and finance. She also decided to go on courses, spoke to various entrepreneurs and spent many nights crafting her business plan. She then left for Nigeria armed with her business plan, her start up capital, her passion for change and her determination to ACT. She then booked her first ticket to Nigeria.

If you want to be truly inspired by a new thinking Nigerian, read an EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW with Dr Ola Orekunrin on Jide Salu Diary. It is not a MUST read, not to be missed.

I must say this topic has made very interesting reading. Having just relocated from the Uk after almost 20 years, you will agree with me If I tell you a few things about the Uk that many may not be aware of.

I am so proud to be a Nigerian and the advantage many of us who were 'fortunate' or 'un-fortunate' if the case may be is that CNN and SKY can no longer put any wool of my eyes.

Yes things are incredibly tough over here in Nigeria as I have been informing the world particularly those in the diaspora through my blog found at http://babajidesalu./, IT IS AS TOUGH IN THE UK IF NOT TOUGHER.

Guys, trust me, there is no country where there is no Poverty, and yes I know, Poverty is relative, so is Wealth.

I will leave you for now, but check my blog out at http://babajidesalu./.

Cheers and God bless.

NB: Seun, I can see you are still doing a great job.
Career / Re: Should I Return To Nigeria To Work? by Wazobia(m): 6:25pm On Oct 29, 2006
I am quite surprised that I will read such posting ever on any Forum on the net. What a question !!! and what answers are you expecting to get as a source of advice. And please don't tell me that your next move will surely depend on a forum advice.

Do you know the respondents? Do you know there background? How many of the respondents have ever attended Uni b4?

Dangerous move boy.

I don't have any advise except to visit my dear country Nigeria (currently based in the UK), see things for yourself, speak to the right people, and anything is possible.

For those of you who think £30k is big dosh (oh yes I know, it is relative, ) you need to be here to know it is absolutely nothing. The only thing we are currently not taxed on is the air we breath and I am sure there are plans in the pipeline to tax this.

My dear brother, there is nothing better than home.

Business / Re: Nigeria Million Dollar Home Page by Wazobia(m): 11:38am On Mar 17, 2006
Hot-Angel,

Interesting to read your comments, I get your point about the "24" column. Also, I went back to the site to check the price which I thought was very reasonable and it actually says $100 per block, which still works out at $1 per pixel as a block each measures 10x10 pixels (100 pixels) - as stated below

"Everyone is welcome to buy my pixels, which are available in 100-pixel 'blocks' (each measuring 10x10 pixels). The homepage is divided into 10,000 of these 100-pixel blocks (hence there are 1,000,000 pixels in total). The reason for selling them in 100-pixel blocks is because anything smaller would be too small to display anything effectively."

I  should keep all you guys posted on the progress of interesting site.

What Has Taken (www.nigeriamilliondollarhomepage.com) This Long!!!!!

Hi Boys,

I don't know about you, but should I be cynical about this Nigerian version of the Million Dollar Home page? A friend sent me a link www.nigeriamilliondollarhomepage.com to check out the "24" column. It containts negative gist about Nigeria. Your thoughts please.
