Christianity EtcThe Jesus You Know Is Enough by Webbyguy(op): 2:44pm On Aug 20, 2025
Background

Earlier today, I listened to a song titled Oluwatosin.

A line in the lyrics struck me deeply: “The Jesus I know is enough for me.”

I paused and let those words sink in. They reminded me of something many believers often forget—your walk with God doesn’t require knowing everything or having all the answers. The Jesus you know is enough. The little Word you carry inside you is enough.

We sometimes feel unworthy or unequipped because we don’t know every verse in the Bible or can’t quote scriptures the way others can. But friend, the truth is this: the Word you know and believe is powerful enough to help you overcome life’s battles.

Let’s explore why the Jesus you know is enough for your journey.

1. Jesus Is the Word Made Flesh

The Bible tells us clearly:

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” – John 1:1,14

Jesus is not separate from the Word—He is the Word in human form. When you hold on to the Word of God, you are holding on to Jesus Himself.

That means every scripture you know, every truth you believe, is a direct connection to Christ. Even if you know just one verse, that verse carries the presence and power of Jesus.

2. You Don’t Need to Know It All

One of the enemy’s lies is to make believers feel unqualified because they don’t know the entire Bible. But God never demanded that.

Think about it:

The thief on the cross didn’t attend Bible school—yet he recognised Jesus and was promised paradise (Luke 23:42–43).

The woman with the issue of blood didn’t know every scripture—but she believed if she touched Jesus, she would be healed (Mark 5:28).

It’s not about how much you know—it’s about how much you believe in what you know.

Even a small portion of God’s Word, mixed with faith, can produce mighty results.

3. Faith, Even Small, Moves Mountains

Jesus Himself said:

“If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” – Matthew 17:20

Notice He didn’t say “if you have all the scriptures memorised.” He said if you have faith—no matter how small—you can overcome.

The power is not in how much you know but in how much you believe and apply what you know. Faith turns even the smallest seed of the Word into a mighty tree of victory.

4. The Word You Know Works When You Use It

It’s not enough to only know a scripture—you must apply it.

Use it in prayer.

Speak it over your situation.

Meditate on it until it shapes your mindset.

For example, if all you know is “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1), you can hold onto that verse in times of lack and declare it until provision comes.

If all you know is “By His stripes I am healed” (Isaiah 53:5), you can pray it over sickness until healing manifests.

The Word you know only becomes powerful when you use it.

5. God Multiplies What You Have

Remember the story of the five loaves and two fish? (John 6:1–14)

The disciples didn’t have much. But when they surrendered the little they had to Jesus, He multiplied it and fed thousands.

The same is true of your spiritual journey. The little Word you know may feel small—but when you mix it with faith and surrender it to God, He multiplies its effect in your life.

6. Consistency Builds Strength

While the Word you know now is enough, God still desires that you keep growing.

Growth doesn’t mean you must know the entire Bible overnight. It means daily feeding on the Word—little by little, verse by verse.

The more consistent you are, the stronger your faith becomes. Just like physical food strengthens the body, the Word strengthens your spirit.

But don’t let the process discourage you. Even while you’re still learning, the little you know is enough for today’s battles.

7. Testimonies Begin With Small Faith

Many powerful testimonies begin with simple faith in one scripture.

Abraham held onto one promise—that he would be the father of many nations.

Hannah prayed with simple faith and received her Samuel.

Peter obeyed one instruction—cast your net again—and his life changed.

Friend, don’t underestimate the Word you already carry. It may look small now, but it can transform your story when mixed with faith.

Final Note

Friend, never let the thought “I don’t know enough” hold you back from walking with God. The Jesus you know is enough. The Word you carry inside you is powerful enough to sustain you.

Don’t wait until you have memorised the whole Bible before you start using the Word. Don’t let doubt or comparison silence your faith. The little you know—mixed with trust and prayer—is more than enough to overcome life’s challenges.

Keep growing, yes. Keep learning, yes. But while you grow, use the Word you already know.

Because with Jesus, even a mustard seed of faith can move mountains.

Christianity EtcThe Fasted Life: What Daniel Taught Me About Consecration, Favor, And Walking... by Webbyguy(op):
What stood out to me most was this:

Daniel and his three friends lived a life of fasting, and it changed everything.

What Daniel’s Fast Taught Me

Daniel and his friends didn’t live like everyone else. They chose to consecrate themselves.

When everyone else was indulging in the king’s rich food and wine, they respectfully declined.
They chose instead to eat only fruits and vegetables. No fancy meals. No delicacies.

It wasn’t a total fast—it was a decision to stay clean, focused, and aligned with God.

And the results?

Favor
Wisdom
Promotion
Supernatural deliverance

Fasting Is More Than Just Skipping Food

Let’s be real—when we hear the word “fast,” many people immediately think of not eating at all. And yes, fasting often involves food. But what I’ve learned is that true fasting is deeper than that.

It’s about consecration—setting yourself apart for a period of time to seek God more deeply.

It’s a choice to pull away from distractions and feed your spirit.
To pause the noise and tune into God’s voice.
To deny your flesh and nourish your faith.

Different Types of Fasting (And Why They All Matter)

Here are a few common types of fasts that people practice:
1. Dry Fast

No food, no water (for short, intense spiritual focus)

2. Water Fast

Only water, no food (common for detox and deeper spiritual clarity)

3. Fruit or Vegetable Fast (Like Daniel)

No meat or processed food, just fruits, vegetables, and natural meals

4. Partial Fast

Fasting from food during specific hours of the day (e.g. 6am–6pm)

5. Soul Fast

Fasting from distractions like social media, entertainment, or conversations that pull you away from God

The point of fasting isn’t starvation.

It’s alignment.
It’s discipline.
It’s devotion.

What Happens When You Live a Life of Fasting

I don’t mean you should go without food every day of your life. That’s not what I’m saying at all.

But I do believe we are called to live a fasted life—a lifestyle of consecration.
A heart posture that says:

“God, I choose You over comfort.”
“I will make time for You, even when life is busy.”
“I will guard my thoughts, my words, my actions.”
“I want to be set apart for Your use.”

When you live like this—even imperfectly—things begin to shift.
Just like Daniel, you start to walk in:
1. Favor

People will begin to notice you, even when you don’t try to be noticed.
2. Wisdom

God will give you insight beyond your years. You’ll know things others don’t, simply because you’ve been in His presence.
3. Promotion

Doors will open. Not because you forced them, but because God honours obedience and humility.
4. Deliverance

You’ll be protected from traps. You’ll come out of impossible situations without harm. You’ll experience peace in the fire.

Living the Fasted Life Daily

So what does it look like practically?

It’s in the small decisions:

Choosing prayer over gossip
Pausing social media for quiet time with God
Saying no to temptation when no one’s watching
Fasting one meal a week just to honor God

It’s not about perfection. It’s about intention

Bible Verses That Encourage This Lifestyle

Here are a few scriptures to hold onto as you choose to live differently:

“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself…” – Daniel 1:8
“When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do…” – Matthew 6:16
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” – James 4:8
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.” – Matthew 5:6

Final Thoughts

Fasting isn’t about starving your body—it’s about feeding your spirit.
It’s not about showing off—it’s about going deeper.
It’s not about one event—it’s about a lifestyle.

And when you choose to live a fasted life—not perfectly, but sincerely—you’ll begin to walk in a different kind of grace.

A Daniel kind of favour.
A Daniel kind of wisdom.
A Daniel kind of deliverance.
A Daniel kind of promotion.

So start where you are. Consecrate yourself. Pull away from the noise.
And let God do what only He can do through a life that’s surrendered.

Christianity Etc15 Encouraging Quotes For When You Feel Like Giving Up by Webbyguy(op): 7:29am On Jun 08, 2025
We all have those moments.

Moments where the progress is slow.
The prayers feel unanswered.
The path feels unclear.
And deep inside, we silently ask, “What’s the point of all this?”

If that’s where you are right now, I want you to pause for a moment and breathe.
You are not alone.

If you’re reading this because you were about to give up, don’t.

Your hard season doesn’t cancel your calling. It’s preparing you for it.

You may feel weak, but strength is rising.
You may feel stuck, but movement is coming.
You may feel forgotten, but heaven knows your name.

God sees you. He’s not finished with you. And there is more ahead than what you’re leaving behind.

Christianity EtcWaiting On God During The Storms Of Life by Webbyguy(op): 4:44pm On Apr 22, 2025
Waiting on God is not a passive act. It’s a powerful spiritual discipline that requires intentional effort. It doesn’t mean you simply sit and do nothing—it means you deny your flesh the things it desires and feed your spirit with things that align with God.

What Should You Do While Waiting on God?

1. Pray Without Ceasing
Prayer is communication between man and God. It’s reminding God of His promises and aligning yourself with His will. The Bible tells us to "pray without ceasing," which means you ought to pray about everything—big or small.
God wants to be involved in every area of your life. He loves you and desires to help you. But when you don’t invite Him in, you limit what He can do for you.

2. Fast
Waiting on God also involves fasting. Fasting is a spiritual exercise where you deny yourself earthly pleasures in order to seek God more deeply.
During fasting, you should let go of things such as food, parties, ungodly conversations, and anything that does not build you up spiritually. Instead, you should feed more on the Word of God. That’s why the Bible says, “Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.”

3. Study the Word
Studying the Word of God is essential for every Christian. The Word:
• Opens your eyes to the truth
• Reveals who you are in Christ
• Unveils God’s promises
• Teaches God’s laws and principles for prosperity
You can study the Word by reading your Bible and meditating on what it says.

4. Listen to God
While waiting and fasting, it's also important to listen to what God is saying.
One of the benefits of fasting is that it quiets your flesh and makes your spiritual ears more sensitive. When you're not feeding your physical body but are instead feeding your spirit, you begin to hear God more clearly.
Set time aside for meditation and quietness during your fast. This stillness allows you to hear God’s voice more distinctly. Many times, God is speaking, but we can’t hear Him because we’re distracted by noise or our own understanding.

Why Do We Wait on God?
To Renew Our Strength
The primary reason we wait on God is to receive spiritual strength. Physical strength can only take you so far. But the strength that comes from God empowers you to:
• Advance
• Prosper
• Stand firm during challenges
Just like you get tired physically and need food, you also get tired spiritually and need God to refill and renew you. When you're spiritually tired, waiting on God is the food your soul needs.

To Overcome Life’s Storms
This message is especially for those who are going through tough times—or will, eventually. Storms are part of life. The best way to survive and overcome them is by already being rooted in God.

Don’t wait for trouble before seeking God. Build spiritual strength when things are going well. That way, when the storms come, you'll have the capacity to withstand and overcome.

The Bible says, "If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small." Don’t wait until your strength fails. Start waiting on God now.

Build Spiritual Capacity
To build spiritual capacity, consistently practice:
• Praying
• Fasting
• Studying the Word
• Listening to God
Those who come to Zion and wait on God go from strength to strength.

Final Encouragement

Keep waiting on God. Seek His face. Pursue His kingdom. Your strength will not only be renewed—it will multiply. You will be equipped to navigate life victoriously, no matter the season.

Christianity EtcMercy In Action: How God Forgives And Why We Should Too by Webbyguy(op): 6:24pm On Apr 18, 2025
Being merciful means having a forgiving heart. It also means doing what you can to prevent evil from happening to others.
When someone offends you, being merciful means you’re willing to forgive. Even when people don’t deserve your help, mercy compels you to show kindness and support anyway.

Mercy also involves caring for others—thinking about their needs and considering them when making decisions.

God Is a Merciful God
One of God’s defining attributes is mercy.

When God came in human form as Jesus Christ, He was always ready to show mercy to those who cried out to Him. Whether it was healing the sick, feeding the hungry, or forgiving sinners, His mercy was consistent and deep.

Another sign of God’s mercy is that He forgives even the most wicked people—if they turn away from their evil and ask for forgiveness. No matter how bad someone’s past is, God is always ready to show mercy when there is genuine repentance.

Jonah and the Mercy of God
A clear example of God’s mercy is found in the story of Jonah.

God sent Jonah to preach to the people of Nineveh, a wicked city. Jonah initially refused and ran away because he knew how merciful God is. He didn’t want Nineveh to be forgiven. After Jonah was swallowed by a great fish and later rescued, he obeyed God and preached to the city.
To Jonah’s surprise—and frustration—the people of Nineveh repented. And as expected, God forgave them.

Jonah became angry and said to God, “Isn’t this what I said while I was still at home? That’s why I tried to run away. I knew that You are a gracious and compassionate God, slow to anger and abounding in love, a God who relents from sending calamity” (Jonah 4:2).

Jonah struggled with the idea that people he considered wicked could receive mercy. But that is the very nature of God—He is merciful to all who repent.

God Is Our Father
God is not just our Creator—He is our Father.

He made us in His image. We didn’t make ourselves. The Bible says, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” But not only does God exist, He is our loving Father.

Just like an inventor is considered the father of their invention, God is the Father of humanity.

Children Ought to Be Like Their Father

Since God is our Father, we should reflect His nature. We ought to develop and live out the attributes of our Father.

That’s why Jesus came—to show us what it looks like to live with God's attributes in human form.

Jesus displayed love, mercy, gentleness, faithfulness, diligence, wisdom, patience, peace, and many other godly traits. As His followers, we should do the same.

Show Mercy Like God Shows Mercy

Let’s learn to be merciful, not just in what we do but in how we think.

Our actions flow from our thoughts. If your thoughts toward others are full of kindness, it becomes easier to act mercifully. But if your thoughts are bitter or wicked, mercy will be hard to maintain—and when it does appear, it will be short-lived.

So, let’s love others. Let’s be kind. Let’s care. Let’s forgive. Let’s help, even when it's not deserved.
Let’s show mercy—because God first showed us mercy.

Christianity EtcFor A Righteous Man May Fall Seven Times And Rise Again by Webbyguy(op): 11:10am On Mar 28, 2025
Proverbs 24:16-18 New King James Version (NKJV)

For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.

Life is full of challenges. We will all face challenges regardless of our location, age, or status.

Challenges can arise at any point in our lives, often coming unannounced.

The greatest people in life are those who face challenges and overcome them.

If you want to become great in life, you must be willing to face challenges and overcome them. People who avoid challenges or depend on others to help them always have limitations in life.

The period when you are facing challenges can be very difficult because it often comes with other issues, such as people judging or even mocking you.

Your focus should be on how to overcome your challenges, regardless of what people are saying. When you overcome your challenges, people will come to celebrate you.

It is painful when you try and fail, but the solution is to keep trying.

When trying again, you might need to restrategize or make some adjustments to achieve success.

Let no one deceive you—everyone has failed at some point in life. The difference between successful people and those who are not is how they handle failure.

If you want to be successful, you should learn from your failures, see them as stepping stones, and let them motivate you toward greater success.

My final advice is that when you fall, you should:

Pray to God and ask Him to handle it.
Analyze the situation.
Learn from other successful people.
Determine if change or adjustment is needed.
Try again, as your chances of success will be higher.
Success is not about luck. To an extent, success is predictable based on the effort you have put into achieving it.

Christianity EtcThe Limitations Of Man And The Help Of God by Webbyguy(op): 4:33pm On Mar 20, 2025
Psalm 108:12
“Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless.”

When I was in high school, I had a fight with one of my classmates. Before the fight, I had planned with a friend to support me because I was sure he could defeat my opponent.

With that confidence, I went ahead with the fight, expecting my friend to step in at the right moment. However, to my surprise, he disappeared and never showed up to assist me.

After the fight—where I was thoroughly beaten—I found my friend and asked why he didn’t come to help. His response shocked me. He said he deliberately didn’t show up because I believed I could fight, and he wanted me to see that I couldn’t.

That day, I learned a valuable lesson: man can choose not to help you, even when they have the capacity to do so, for their own personal reasons.

Why You Cannot Fully Rely on Men

Man can disappoint you.
No matter how reliable someone seems, they are still human and can fail you for various reasons.

Men are limited.
People can only do what they have the capacity to do. They are not all-powerful.

Men have personal ambitions.
Even when people can help, they may prioritize their own needs first. This is simply human nature.

The heart of man is unpredictable.
Some people will listen to your problems, not because they want to help, but just to gossip or mock you.

Conclusion: God is the Ultimate Helper

Unlike men, God never fails. He is always willing and able to help in times of trouble. Not only does He have the capacity to help, but He can also send people to assist you, even if they don’t like you.

So, if you’re facing issues you can’t handle on your own, remember this: you have a God who is more than able. Call on Him, and He will show forth His power in your life.

Pray today—He is waiting to hear your voice and to reveal His glory through you, so the world may know that our God is mighty to save.

Christianity EtcPray Hard Work Hard: How To Live A Successfully Life In God by Webbyguy(op): 6:56pm On May 06, 2024
I know we’ve all heard of the saying that work hard, play hard that it is the way to a successful life.

Well, that is correct but it has its limitations because the life we live in is first of all spiritual before it’s physical.

It’s good to work hard and play hard but it only addresses the physical aspect of life.

If you want to live a life of Victory from the supernatural angle of life, you need to start with prayer. This is why the topic of our post is Pray Hard and Work Hard.

Another way you can say it is to pray like you will never need to work and work like you will never need prayer.

If you can live like this, you will definitely succeed in life.

In this post, I will be writing about how you can develop your prayer life and how you can work hard to get effective results.
