Do you mean your car cannot exceed 3000rpm when you revv/move or it cannot exceed 30mph(speed) on your speedometer.
If it cannot exceed 3000rpm then your car is in safe/limp mode and the engine is protecting itself thereby not exceeding 3000rpm (limp mode).
What you need to do in this case is to scan you car with an OBII scanner and trace where the fault is coming from. It could be a faulty Maf sensor or loose connection or some other causes.

This same thing happened to me some weeks ago and in my case i found out that i had a broken sensor connection to my Vtec soleniod(honda accord 2003) after i scanned the car for errors. All i had to do was to replace the solenoid and it worked fine.

However if you cannot exceed more than 30mph(speed) with your car i have never experienced that before.

In need of a BB tour and i want to have an idea of how much its gonna cost.

Replaced faulty broken vtec solenoid with a new one and made connection to its sensors and it jumped out of limp mode. Car is now working very fine and smooth. Thank you all for your suggestions

Found out yesterday that i have a broken sensor connector to my vtec solenoid, really wonder how it broke and i guess thats why am getting P2649.
Called my mechanic to get a spare and get it changed to see if it moves out of limp mode. Will give feedback by tommorrow when its fixed.

I've had the car for a year and this is the first time i would ever experience this issue. Cleaned the throttle during the weekend but same result.
Also got a mechaninc to remove the silencer and check if the issue is from silencer but i got same result.
I'm really running out of ideas

Hello all techies, my 2003 honda accord cannot exceed 3000rpm, while speeding it would jerk at 3000rpm and will not make the car exceed that mark. When put in Park(P) or neutral(N) and you revv the engine it still wont exceed the 3000rpm.

Please note that the car idles fine and moves perfectly except getting close to 3000rpm which forces the car not to exceed that mark.

Checked for Map sensor but it still doesnt exceed 3000rpm. The little research that i have done indicates that a code has caused the engine to protect itself thereby not exceeding 3000rpm (limp mode).

I decided to scan the car and this is what am getting.

P2649 Vtec solenoid valve circuit high voltage 2003 honda accord.
P0135 Primary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Primary HO2S) (Sensor 1) Heater Circuit Malfunction.
P0141 Secondary Heated Oxygen Sensor (Secondary HO2S) (Sensor 2) Heater Circuit Malfunction.

I dont think it could be the o2 sensor cause i've had that fault triggered for a long while and it never stoppped the car from exceeding 3000rpm. However this is the first time i'm getting P2649, where can i get this sensor or where is the soleniod located. Need to see if this is what is stopping the car from not exceeding 3000rpm.
