I once used to go that way also("I can code it"). but then it's not the best approach, from my own point of view. There are a lot of open source codes out there that you can just customize and use your time to code some more useful modules on your site. I wasn't referring to all swf files. Was referring on a case-by-case basis, taking  http://www.uefa.com/photos/index.html as a case study. I agree with you that there are good flash optimizer's out there but i'm yet to see one. The best i've seen is a pre-loader added to the flash file and an option of skipping the movie. I'm not against the picture gallery been displayed on the site,infact i think it's one of the best i've seen and user friendly, but the fact that i had to wait for like 3 mins before seeing the next image is not too good. Considering the Internet speed in Naija, i feel its not the best option.

I agree with you that lightbox is widely used due to the fact that its open source, but saying that the js file and css file coupled with the pictures, the size can never be compared to that of an swf file. Css and JS file are too light to compare that to flash files.

Flash files are always too heavy, thus making the speed slow. Of what use is a photo gallery when it takes time to load. Thats why Lighbox is a better photo galley for me, its strictly javascript.

Am No economist, so i need to ask this question. Is it gonna be wise to start buying up dollars right know, since the naira seems to be dropping. Remember when it was 120, i should have bought it then. But at 180, do you guys think it's still wise?.
