Nigeria has over 200 million people in the country, and that growth rate is going to expand in the coming years. This code creates infinite variability to help pinpoint every single Nigerian.

This is a positive development.

For decades, millions of homes in Nigeria have had no real street address or building number. Poor addressing costs Nigeria billions of naira a year when it comes to failed deliveries.
And this does not even include the cost of slow emergency responses, or even banks failing to verify where you live.

So Nigeria built something new. An 11-digit alphanumeric postal code.

So from emergency response systems to verification systems to e-commerce, that is, you will no longer scream, you will no longer need to yell over the phone to describe your house to a rider before they get to your address, before they get to your house.

Your bank will no longer need to do so much work to locate your address for verification purposes. So just in case you have not gotten your digital postcode yet, I would like to show you in three simple steps.
1. Visit www.postcode.gov.ng or go to your Play Store or iOS store and download the digital postcode app.
2. Click on get your postcode. It's going to bring out a map that is literally showing where you are living, where you are at right now.

And then you proceed to get the postcode by tapping on your building. So at this point, the app will be showing you where your building is located. If it is not showing there, it will tell you to request for the code.

If it is showing, just click on it, just like I got mine. My digital postcode has been assigned to me already.
