23-yr-old Nigerian photographer chased to death by robbers while returning from church

The CEO of In-Situmedia, Oluwafeyidara Adekoya was crushed by a vehicle early Saturday, while trying to escape from two suspected robbers at Anthony bus stop, Lagos.

According to her uncle, they attempted to dispossess her of her bag and phones but she raised the alarm and took to her heels. The hoodlums chased her before an oncoming vehicle ran them over.

The rider escaped, but the hit-and-run driver ran over his accomplice and Adekoya. The late Oluwafeyidara Adekoya was returning from church when the motorcycle riding hoodlums pounced on her.

A lady who has been identified as Joy Akatugba, is said to now be a resident of the streets in Sapele, Delta State – she met this misfortune after she was allegedly accused of witchcraft and was brutally beaten by soldiers and left to die.

I met this lady yesterday afternoon. And no she is not mentally deranged as she speaks fine and identified herself.
She is a victim of society wickedness. Accused of witchcraft, beaten to pulp ( by #soldiers) till there was no strength in her and left to die on the road.

"Over an hour ago, I began to recieve several calls and text seeking to draw my attention to the allegations being made on Twitter against my person. Rape is one very sensitive issue that is beginning to occupy the front burner of social discourse online and offline. I am greatly concerned about this allegation, as I would be if this involved my mother, sister and friends. I have read through the thread and the allegations and wish to expressly deny that I raped anyone as alleged or at all.
In light of this, I encourage the 'whistleblower' in good conscience to refer this issue to the appropriate government agencies for investigation. I am willing and ready to submit my self to scrutiny in order to clear my name.
T.I Nathan is a growing brand and we’re all aware of the damage that allegations such as this could cause the brand. I have instructed my lawyers to take active steps immediately to see that justice is done in this, without compromising the identity of the alleged rape victim.

Retired footballer George Weah has won the elections in Liberia to become that country's 25th president.

The senator of Montserrado County - once named Fifa World Player and winner of the much coveted Ballon d'or - defeated his 73-year-old opponent Vice President Joseph Boakai in a landslide victory in results announced in Liberia on Wednesday morning.

"I am deeply grateful to my family, my friends, and my loyal supporters who contributed to our campaign during this extremely long election season," Weah said on Twitter before the results were announced.

Weah is set to replace Africa’s first female head of state, economist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, and see the West African nation, founded by freed American slaves, hand over power from one democratically elected government to another.

All it took was a 911 phone call to police in Byram, Mississippi, by a five-year-old child worried about the ways of the wily menace

Children of the world can rest easy this Christmas Eve. Five-year-old TyLon Pittman — with a little help from the police department in Byram, Mississippi — put the notorious Christmas-stealing Grinch behind bars.

The incident, which has gone viral, began this past Saturday night, when the boy made a secret phone call to 911 to alert the police to the Grinch’s nefarious ways. He had seen a clip from the animated classic, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” — and was determined to ensure that Byram’s finest were on the case.

The child was concerned his own Christmas and that of his neighbors would succumb to the wily green menace.

“He steals everybody’s Christmas!” the wise youngster warned.

Later, he told his mother, TeResa Pittman, that he had made the call, but she didn’t take the tot seriously at the time. So imagine her surprise when Officer Lauren Develle arrived on the family’s doorstep later that evening to reassure the boy.

TyLon Pittman’s brother captured the interaction on video, which he posted on his Facebook page. The video of the endearing interaction between the little boy and Officer Develle quickly went viral. Not only did the local paper, the Clarion Ledger, pick up the story, but it was featured on “Good Morning America,” the “Today” show, and other major outlets.

But the story didn't end with the interaction at the family's home. The icing on this heartwarming Christmas tale came on Monday, when Byram's Police Department arranged for the boy to literally lock up the Grinch in a holding cell inside the department's headquarters.

The child — who hopes to become an officer himself when he grows up — received a Byram PD baseball cap and a Grinch toy to commemorate the important day. Young TyLon was made an honorary junior officer for the day as well. Byram's police chief, Luke Thompson, encouraged him to return when he was 21 to apply to become an official part of the force.

In his five-star review posted to the Byram Police Department's Facebook page, TyLon's big brother, TeDera Graves II, a U.S. Air Force airman, said, "It's the little things like this that go unnoticed, especially in society today, with what police officers do. Thank you to Officer Develle and BPD for not only making my little brother's day but for showing him that being an officer isn't just about stopping crime. Thank you for all that you do for the community; your hard work and dedication to the mission doesn't go unnoticed."
