The management of Dana Air has reacted to news going round on social media said the door of its aircraft fell off because a passenger attempted to open it.
DANA Air today debunked falsehood alleging that the door of one of its aircraft fell off after landing and whilst taxing in Abuja earlier today.

Some online publications had started posting reports that the door of one of the airline’s aircraft fell off but stated that the allegations were not only untrue and damaging but categorically could never have happened without a conscious effort to open it.

By design, the emergency exit door of our aircraft are plug-type backed by pressure, which ordinary cannot fall off without tampering or conscious effort to open by a crew member or passenger.

A statement by Dana Air of the alleged incident read,”We wish to state categorically that this could never have happened without a conscious effort by a passenger to open it.”

“We also wish to enlighten the author that, when an aircraft is airborne, it is fully pressurized and there was no way the seat or door could have been ‘shaking’ as insinuated.”

“A thorough inspection was however carried out on the said aircraft upon landing in Abuja, by our engineers and a team from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), and no issue was reported. There was also no threat to safety at any point.”

“The flight was only delayed for 8 minutes as we needed to demonstrate to the regulators that the safety and comfort of our guests is at the centre of our operations.”

“We wish to apologize to our guests for any inconvenience such report may have caused and for the slight delay on the return service to Lagos.”

“A thorough investigation of the concerned passenger is ongoing.

He was not man that liked dancing around the issues. I said yes. Ok. Let's go and see the MD of Nigeria Airways, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim. On the way, he told me how this was going to be revolutionary. Banjul. Brazzaville /Librevile. Dakar. Accra and Monrovia... it was a simple assignment. Get on the flight, and just as in flight refreshments were being served... the Pilot announced a surprise performance.. and my voice filtered through the overhead speakers. It was a unique experience for me and also very challenging. I stood sometimes partially hidden because the telephone handset that I used as a microphone had to be held like I was on the phone while performing. On some flights, I had to stand backing those in Business class. They liked to be called first class passengers back then. I abused shege from them. Usually it's a 20-30 minutes performance. I remember one man complaining on one of our flights to Kano. "Sit down! Shut off! Do you think plying izza joke?" And that was when I made the classic response, that you would have heard from many. "Alhaji, that is why performing in a plane is good. If you don't like it you can't leave"... we became friends after the flight and he later became a deputy Governor. Why am I sharing this? Institutions need to allow great ideas grow their business. The Old marketing strategies are not going to work with these internet generations. Just watch out for what will happen with #NIPOST. Nigerian radio host and presenter Daddy Freeze clapped back at a follower who replied him on his controversial issue of tithing.

The radio personality who is known for his scathing attacks on church practices including tithing, didn’t hold back his anger when a follower of his on Twitter account wrote "I wonder d type weed somebody like DaddyFRZ smokes. He keep on criticizing pastor for collecting Biblical instituted command 2 pay. Even d dictionary stated dat tithing is "one tenth of annual produce or earnings, formerly taken as a tax for the support of the Church and clergy"

Daddy Freeze replied; "Instead of showing us the dictionary, why don't you show us the BIBLE... Show us where our high priest Jesus, or our first Pastors the disciples and apostles, collected tithes in the BIBLE!

The shocking stories of Sakawa boys in Ghana keeps getting unbelievable. It was all shock and fear when a Sakawa boy at Asante Bekwai in the Ashanti region turned into a cat after sleeping in a coffin for seven days.

The story of money ritual ‘Sakawa’ boys is getting scarier and mysterious everyday as unusual things always pop out from it, and if not hurting the ritualist then a relative which makes it a self-fight activity.

It was very shocking and fearing when a Sakawa boy at Asante Bekwai in the Ashanti region turned into a cat after sleeping in a coffin for seven days.

The young man was among three friends, Kwadwo Kumasi, 28; Yaw Mensah, 37, and Kwame Osei, 26, who had contacted a popular Juju man called Mallam Kantanka, at Sefwi Asawinso in the Western Region, to perform rituals for them to become rich overnight.

Kwadwo Kumasi, who is said to have known Mallam Kantanka for a long time, sacrificed to be the first to sleep in the coffin as part of the rituals, while the remaining two waited for their turns.

Later on, the sorcerer vanished as he notices that something bad and shocking has happened – the said development then disturbed Kumasi’s friends to report the case to the police.

The Asawinso district police commander, Richard Boahen who confirmed the shocking development says Mallam Kantanka has been called for interrogation.

Mallam Kantanka at the police station confirmed the report of the two complainants but said the spirits gave the two colleagues seven more days to perform some rituals to bring Kumasi back to life.

The commander added that the police are waiting to see Kumasi’s return, as promised by Mallam Kantanka, while investigations were still ongoing.

However, followed up investigations by the police at the shrine revealed that a cat and an amount of money were found in a coffin in which Kumasi had slept for the rituals.

President Muhammadu Buhari has written to the Senate explaining steps he has taken on the killings perpetrated by herdsmen across the country.

He wrote:

"I thank you for your letter Reference NASS/8S/R/01 /33 dated 18th January, 2018 and I have carefully studied the resolutions and comments contained therein.

As I briefed you and the Rt. Hon. Speaker when we met on the 14th January, 2018, several courses of action had already been taken prior to the Senate Resolutions. You may recall that I told you of the following steps taken as soon as information came to me about the Benue killings.

On Thursday 4th January, I sent the Minister of Interior and the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Operations for an on the spot assessment of the situation.

On Friday, 5th January, the Inspector General of Police briefed me verbally on the latest situation. Calm had by then been restored.

On Monday 8th the Minister of Interior met with the following:

Governors of Adamawa, Kaduna, Niger, Taraba, Benue and Nasarawa States together with
Director General of the State Security Services (DG SSS)
Inspector General of Police
Commandant General, Civil Defence
Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development
Commissioners of Police from the six aforementioned states
Comptrollers of Civil Defence from the six aforementioned states.

After the meeting I instructed the Minister of lnterior to brief you on the information gathered so far and steps taken. On Tuesday 9th January, I had a long session with Governor Ortom of Benue State during which I informed him of police arrest of some suspects with Kalashnikovs. In addition, I told him that I had instructed the IGP to speed up trial and prosecution of the suspects and give wide publicity to the police efforts.

At the request of the Governor a meeting was held in the Presidential Villa on 15th January, with a wide – cross – section of Benue personages where frank and open discussions were held and everybody in the meeting appreciated the complexity and difficulties of this farmer/herder strife. I assured all and sundry of my commitment to ensure that justice is expeditiously done.

To infer, therefore that nothing has been done is incorrect. The police are strenuously working to apprehend the rest of the culprits of these heartless killings. Furthermore, I have instructed the Inspector General of Police to relocate to Benue State, redeploy forces to the most sensitive areas. The Federal Government is initiating additional measures to address these and other security challenges, alleviate the consequences of these attacks and forestall reoccurrence. The Senate Resolutions itemised in your letter will be taken into consideration and I am instructing all relevant MDAs to factor them in their work.

Earlier, on December 19th 2017 to be precise, while receiving the Report of the Committee which I had set up to review the operational, technical and administrative structure of the National intelligence Agency (NIA), I underscored the need to review the entire national security architecture – as I promised in my inaugural Address on 29th May, 2015. Action is being initiated and I expect to receive maximum cooperation from the Senate, in line with paragraph (iii) of the Senate Resolutions.
