Alhamdulillah wa solatu wa sallam ala l ashrof li mumineen, it's quite unfortunate that some of us are learned but still lack indepth knowledge. There's differentiation between paedophilia and child marriage. Islam allows for child marriage base on the Shar'iah law. The law stipulates that you can marry a child as young as the age of 6, but there's a clause which is that there would be no consummation(intimacy) until she comes of age. As soon as she comes of age, she has the right to call off the marriage if she's not interested. This act is not a compulsion but a choice. I might want to give my child out in marriage at any early age while you won't do the same. As much as I don't want to say much, I'l like to call your attention to recent defiling of young girls by a pastor two months and two other cases by christians as well. What age was Mary betrothed to Joseph? Let' not argue over this. It's a freedom of choice!
