Car Talk / Re: Imagine You Never Owned A Car, How Much Would You Have Saved?.. by weyreypey: 6:43am On Dec 28, 2019
Esseite:
We spend so much on vehicles without taking cognizance of how much it has consumed over the years..

Example on just a single car:
Estimate...
Purchase - N2.5m
Servicing (1year) - N150k (mobile 1)
carwash, tires pumps and patches, paintings - N150k
Tires 1st set - N80k
Fueling - N520,000 at N10k/week
transmission service - N30k (T4 oil)
Police, lastma, bribes and fines - N100k
Mechanics and minor repairs - N100k

Total = N3.630m an added N1.130m (excluding engine or transmission change and other major accidents.

You should examine the alternative forgone. Which is the true cost of ownership. Let me state some:
A. A student and a friend died because of a drunken driver who was sleeping at the wheels.
B. I tried Ibadan to Lagos by car at Iwo road leaving my car at home, the throng of beggars ( no offense intended which I could have managed) and later one my passenger neighbor started those type of special hospital ward coughing.... Nobody tell me make I go back house go carry my car!

C. Is it unhygienic interiors of public transportations buses..... Hygiene is non negotiable bro.

D. Or the time wasting.... Have you tried leaving Abuja after 3 PM? Then you'll appreciate owning your own car....

E. Or Lagos... The time you'll spend waiting for your car to get filled up...a private vehicle would have gotten halfway through the journey..

I didn't put Toyota there because

Most cars I put there are between 1999 to 2011 model years you can't get a 03-11 Toyota at that price because it is overpriced due to Toyota reliability position.

The op has 700k for the said car won't it be more economical for him to buy a car worth 400k to 600k and use the remaining balance to fix to his taste. A 99 Corolla naija used in good condition is around 650k to 800k and you will still need to do minor fixes.

in essence it is economically better to buy alternatives of Toyota that are equally good than buying an overpriced product. You should rather be fighting for Civic not Corolla.

The major reason I omitted Toyota was because of the Yaris, the Yaris in that price range is the blandest nonsense of a car I have ever come across very ameboid and an excuse for ART grin (no offense intended) besides the Toyota you are fighting for doesn't have 1.1L to 1.5L Engine.
Ore are you okay, are you alright...

These peugeot cars are cheap cars with high maintenance culture...All the phases are good, however the phase II have complex systems.
Before buying a peugeot car, check if you have a peugeot guru around you, if not don't buy abeg!

We peugeot lovers are hoping and anticipating that more Peugeot technicians would spring up.
The problem usually start when the lions have issues and there are no available tech to attend to them. They usually end up in kazims yard who would probably worsen the case!
My friend wants to sell a 307 with converted Manual transmission... And the blacktop engine.... If you have any buyer don't hesitate to send a PM
Car Talk / Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by weyreypey: 9:56pm On Dec 27, 2019
NobleEngineer:

the automatic drive of that engine is slow and less fuel economical. if you're a speed person, you will have to throttle down to get the speed you want thus fuel suffers. The manual is more responsive. However, the 307 with EW10 engine is good both for auto and manual. fast and safe.

pls i take God beg you, that 2008 Peugeot 307 is phase II, new model with more electricals. It is very delicate and volatile. Any abuse to that car will escalate stories that touch the heart. These cars are not meant for most Nigerians (kazim patroniserz).
Which phase of the 206 and 307 do you advise?

manual drive.
No AC!
I love that car. What do you think about the 2008 307 1.6 engine?
Car Talk / Re: The Official Car Comparison/Recommendation Thread by weyreypey: 9:23pm On Dec 27, 2019
NobleEngineer:

a (non abused) peugeot 206 is fuel economically great. even the 1.6L engine that i drive on a daily basis gives 10L/120km city drive with mad traffic.

there other cars that are fuel efficient as well.
Automatic transmission or manual transmission?

See bro, even when I'm angry with bae I have never insulted her not to talk of raising up my hand to hit her.

No matter how angry you are should be able to control yourself, that nonsense happens in a relationship/marriage where there is no respect and when there is no respect believe me there is no love.
