Just download the latest beta ROM and you're good to go. I'm rocking MIUI 9 (based on android 7).
You're on 7 already, so, download the miui9 and install through updater. No need to root except you need that for another purpose.

Hi guys, good to be back. I have sadly but thankfully gotten another brandnew xiaomi device (Redmi Note 4x SD) from my good friend Protein. I am still looking for ways to fixing my Redmi note 4 mtk that recently packed up without any form of warning, any useful information will be greatly appreciated.
