Phones › Re: What Makes You Stick To A Particular Phone Brand? by Whois(m): 12:19pm On Oct 27, 2025 |
laivwire: It's the company and design philosophy that guides my choices. My brand loyalty started with the Oneplus 7 pro (innovation at a budget price, minimalist Android and thriving community). A phone I still have till today.
When they started messing up with the 8 after the sell off, I switched to the Pixel (pure android, minimalist and not bogus) and since then I've used the 3, 3xl, 6a and now the 8. Nigerians are yet to get exposed to the performance of pixel phones. I was a Samsung fanatics but the cost of screen replacement made me to look for another brand. My first pixel was the 4XL. I bought the phone thinking I will use it as a small phone pending when I fix my main phone. ( My phone engineer billed me 250k if I want to replace screen my S21+.) I realised the pixel brand isn't bad so I upgraded to pixel 8. I'm now team pixel |
Phones › Re: Is Mtn's 5G Really 5G? by Whois(m): 11:59am On Oct 27, 2025 |
HawkTuahGirl: MTN network uses dynamic IP. The IP address changes every minute. Some website security will interpret it as bots.
Next time just use a VPN, you will be fine with MTN. It's has nothing to do with 5g. I can relate with what the Op posted. DrAda: I wasn’t quite sure which section to post this in, but I’d like it to reach as many people as possible.
From my experience, MTN’s 5G doesn’t seem like real 5G. For the past month, I’ve had trouble opening certain websites yet I can easily stream videos on YouTube and Netflix without issues.
I even reached out to one of the sites for help and was advised to clear my cache, cookies, etc., but nothing worked. Out of curiosity, I switched to another network (4G), and just like that, all the websites opened instantly.
I’m wondering if I’m the only one facing this. If you’ve also been struggling to open some sites while using MTN’s 5G, try switching to another network and see if it helps.
What has your experience been with MTN’s 5G? I have the 5G router as well, there's 5G reception in my area but I had to switch the network settings to 4G only because of same reasons you posted. Some sites were slow on MTN 5G network but ok on MTN 4G network

The watch is clean but the transaction experience is most regrettable, the seller lacks decorum and majority of reviews about him here is 💯 correct. The boy is a money mis road. True he post nice stuffs for sell. There was a time I almost bought baby tab from him. I had to buy elsewhere because I couldn't cope with his temperament/attitude. Till date I will rather search Jiji or elsewhere rather than message him for transaction. |
