Politics › Re: Security Check Points In The East. My Experience. by Whois(m): 9:37am On Apr 14, 2025
I went on a journey of 300km within southwest. (Lagos to saki in oyo) the military road blocks I saw on the road were not up to 3 to and fro (they didn't show extortion vibes) the few police check points I saw were after their local bike men (for extortion) not we travelers unlike when I did nysc service in Enugu.

I served in nenwe in aninri local government, it's a border town to imo State. I experienced the injustice one Nigeria army is doing to south Easterners the day I went to visit my friend at umudike in abia State. It was as if civil war is ongoing in Nigeria. Even a state in state of emergency no get check point reach those on south East highways
Politics › Re: Makinde Commissions Kunle Afolayan Film Village, Boosts Oyo Tourism(photos/video by Whois(m): 6:21am On Apr 14, 2025

Family › Re: Are Air Coolers Worth It? by Whois(m): 8:48am On Apr 13, 2025
Have you checked out tower fan

Asamota:
I've been reading a lot of feedback from Europeans and Americans, but now I would like to hear from someone living in Nigeria.

Are air coolers worth it?

Running ACs at night with an inverter costs an arm and a leg. The only alternative I can think of now is air coolers.

Have you used air coolers in the past, do you currently use one today?

Is it really better than a standing fan?

How old where you then in 2008?
and what smart phone did you have?
Did it have Bluetooth?
Did it have Wifi?
Im just checking,
2005 I think I had a Sony Ericsson contract phone myself.
I was below 18 and still in secondary school. Command secondary school, ipaja Lagos to be precise.

My dad was using a Nokia 6260 which he later gave me, the specs are on this link. https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_6260-815.php

I bought sagem my X6 myself cus that was the ultimate machine at that time. https://www.gsmarena.com/sagem_my_x6_2-1139.php
Most of my mates were using sagem my x6. We needed smartphones so as to enjoy free browsing tricks. Those were the days of opera cheats, the one for PC is yourfreedom software, people were browsing for free till like year 2019. Search nairaland for yourfreedom and see the results. What you think was luxury is actually social norm to some of us grin

2007 no one owned a smart phone not even in the US or UK, so it has nothing to do with ones home poverty stage, you are just being naïve, or did you DAD had a smart phone in 2007?
I was still a secondary school student, in a boarding school for that matter and had a smartphone in 2005 grin

Ogun state can as well celebrate their bad roads.

Body still dey pain me, I burnt excess fuel plus 13hrs on a 268km journey that's not suppose to take me more than 5hrs. angry

I spent just 6hrs to cover 308km while returning back plus I didn't have to burn excess fuel due to well maintained road. I must say Kudus to oyo state government for their efforts. Shàme on ogun state government. Anyone going to iseyin/saka should endeavor to follow Lagos-ibadan express way. Ogun state road na rubbish
