Education / Re - Ethno-religious Cleansing Of Federal University Dutsin-ma by whysquaree(m): 10:31pm On Sep 03, 2016
RE - ETHNO-RELIGIOUS CLEANSING OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITY DUTSIN-MA BY OLUFEMI OPEYEMI.

My attention was drawn to an article published by Sahara Reporters and written by one Olufemi Opeyemi. This article to say the least, is nothing but an attempt to distort the truth and falsify history. I intend to respond to his allegations here before going to the same media he used to discredit the good people of Katsina State, and the Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Dutsin-ma.
He started his gibberish with the accusation that the appointment of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Abdu Kaita and other VCs alongside was not done according to the due process. A little further, he insisted that the University Bursar was, according to him, "duly appointed" by the Federal Ministry of Education but removed by by the VC. What he did not know is the fact that appointment of Bursar is almost same as that of the Vice Chancellor. There must be advertisement for the positionnto be published in at least three national dailies; an interview and appointment by the University Council. The due process was violated but because it served this Olufemi very well, it is not mentioned. It is perfect. No problem because it served one of his own.
2.This writer, of neither fixed address nor true identity claimed that the former Bursar of the University was removed because he was a Christian. I laughed at this absurdity. The former Bursar conspired with the former Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ayatse to recklessly loot the funds of the University close to a billion naira. He was most willing to leave the post when his dirty secrets where unearthed. The former Vice Chancellor is still visiting the EFCC Zonal office at the moment of Olufemi's write up.
3. He also accused the present Vice Chancellor of lopsided appointments of principal officers including the University Librarian and the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Admin. But these two (yes, the latter is a Christian) got their positions during the former VC. This is distortion of truth aimed at black painting the present VC.During Ayatse's reign of terror, many people, mostly Muslims, were sacked, others denied promotion on suspicion of being informants to his petitioners. Preferential treatment was Ayatse's identity as appointments and study fellowships were given in his Deeper Life Church. Even Christians outside his denomination were persecuted, let alone Muslims.
4. This writer is very economical of the truth, I won't hesitate to add. That could be the reason behind his decision not to reveal his identity. He coined a term, "Northernisation" of ABU Zaria. What he did not hasten to add was "Southernisation" of University of Ibadan or the "Easternisation" of University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Again, he deliberately avoided the "Beanuesation" of Dutsin-ma. There was a time when members of staff of certain departments in the University were from Benue, the home State of Prof. Ayatse.
5. Olufemi also complained of the non-presence of ASUU body in the University. He said the Union was supposed to be in place after the University fourth year. What he refused to tell the readers was that Prof. Ayatse thwarted all efforts to introduce the Union. Remember, he was the VC for complete 5 years.
6. It is very easy to see why the article carried the above article. Ethno-religious titles carry heavy undertones to Nigerian readers. But the naked truth is that the Christian religion does not support thieves and hooligans. Therefore, what ever the olufemis would call the VC, they could not distract him in his tireless efforts to cleanse the mess created by Ayatse's five year misrule. Remember, even the House Committee on Education of the National Assembly at that time found the dirty abnormalities played by Prof. Ayatse but the whole thing was silenced because we are in Nigeria.
7. This warning serves as final note, we would never relent in our quest for justice on the mismanagement of funds, lopsidedness in appointments and deprivation of admission formula done to the people of Katsina by the former VC. Today, every State has a Federal University (thanks to the former President.) Thus, if you accuse Katsina people of marginalising the Federal University in Katsina State, then help us with the payroll of the sister University in your State. We can compare and operate like you! The fact that we are a conservative people does not in any way mean that you can take a pen and abuse us and expect us to keep mum.

After John kerry's visit to Sultan's palace on a personal note, They said it was a move to establish islamic hegemony in Nigeria (note he is a secretary of state of the largest christian nation on earth)
And now that The Facebook founder said he was proud of
using Hausa language on Facebook site because he finds it unique, some narrow minded Nigerians who are deep in the ocean of ethno-religious politics are saying its another Islamization agenda and a move for the Hausa/fulani to consolidate their feudal rule in the country. Thank God it wasn't a northern state he visited because the allegations might have escalated to another level more absurd
It makes me wonder if the recent ridiculous accusations, allegations or whatsoever you termed it, is true. why is it that the agenda of islamizing the country is hugely promoted by non Muslims?
Indeed, late Dr Yusuf Bala Usman was right in his book "the manipulation of religion in Nigeria". In as much as we need to experience the Nigeria we craved for, then we have to delink our socioeconomic and political Orientation from the shackles of ethno religious politics and from this point of view, apparently in contemporary Nigeria I see us in somewhere out of no where.

Foreign Affairs / Netherlands To Close 19 Prisons Due To Lack Of Prisoners by whysquaree(m): 1:51pm On Jul 11, 2016
The Netherlands will close 19 of its prisons over the next few years because the cost of maintaining them is too high. The reason why the prisons aren’t cost-efficient, however, is something of a national blessing: thanks to the country’s steadily declining crime rate, thousands of prison cells are going unused.
The news was first reported by the Telegraaf (link in Dutch), which obtained government documents disclosing the plan to close five jails. The documents also showed 1,900 prison employees would lose their jobs.
The reason for the closings is two-fold, reports Dutch News: according to Ard van der Steur, the Dutch minister of security and justice, judges are granting shorter sentences, meaning criminals spend less time in jail. But there has also been a decline in more serious crimes. In recent years, the Netherland’s crime rate has declined about 0.9% on average every year, according to Dutch News.
The Netherlands has been facing this good-to-have problem for years now: the country closed eight jails because of the falling prison population in 2009, and shut down another 19 in 2014. And other countries started paying attention: in 2015, Norway transferred more than 1,000 of their inmates to a jail in the Netherlands because it was seeing the opposite trend—there was not enough room for all its criminals in its jails.
The Netherlands isn’t the first country to close jails because it doesn’t have enough criminals. Sweden’s prison numbers fell by about 1% per year from 2004 to 2011. Then between 2011 and 2012, they declined by 6%. In 2013, the country announced it would close four prisons and one other correctional facility due to the unusual trend.
One explanation for the decrease in prison numbers, according to the Guardian, was the Swedish supreme court’s 2011 decision to give less harsh sentences for drug offenses, which could have led to inmates spending less time behind bars before going back into society.

Religion / FBI Says 94% Of Terrorist Attacks In The US Since 1980 Are By Non -muslims by whysquaree(m): 11:32am On Jul 11, 2016
I don't know where to post this, is it in the crime section or religion section
Anyway I decided to post it here.
New York – According to the FBI , 94 percent of terrorist attacks in the United States since 1980 were perpetrated by non-Muslims.

Muslims are blamed every time a terrorist attack is carried out anywhere around the world. Ever since the 9/11 attacks on American soil , the meaning of terrorism has been directly associated with Muslims and Islam.
Following the Paris attacks of November 13 and the San Bernardino shooting in California , bigotry , hatred , discrimination and violence against Muslims has risen to a dangerous level .
However , according to the FBI , there have been more acts of terrorism on American soil perpetrated by Latinos and Jews than by Muslims .
Moreover , Europe has suffered over 1 ,000 terrorist attacks in the last five years, in which less than 2 percent of the criminals have been Muslims , according to the Huffington Post.
Muslims have killed less than 0 . 0002 percent of Americans killed since September 11, 2001 , according to the “ Muslim -American Terrorism in 2013 ” study conducted by the University of North Carolina .
“The United States suffered approximately 14 ,000 murders in 2013. Since 9/11, Muslim - American terrorism has claimed 37 lives in the United States , out of more than 190 ,000 murders during this period, ” the same study noted.
According to the Nobel Prize Organization , nearly half ( 5) out of the last 12 Nobel Peace Prizes have been awarded to Muslims.
The association between Islam and terrorism as promoted a level of intolerance and bigotry toward Muslims all around the world .
Following the San Bernardino terrorist shooting , U . S . President Barack Obama urged Americans to refrain from blaming Islam and Muslims for terrorism.
The US President warned that ISIS and other terrorist organizations want to provoke another war between the West and Islam while fostering fear among citizens .
Blaming Islam – an entire religion – for acts of criminals drives a wedge between Muslims and non- Muslims, increasing hatred and violence .

Islam for Muslims / Advice For My Sisters In Islam by whysquaree(m): 7:05am On May 06, 2016
ADVICE FOR MY SISTERS IN ISLAM
Know, my dear Muslim sister, that you are man's sister and half of humanity. You are a mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, grand daughter or grand mother. The Prophet said, what translated means, Women are, indeed, men's partners. [Abu Dawud]
You are a member of the great nation of Islam, the best nation ever produced for mankind. No other nation on earth has more great men, leaders and conquerors than this nation. It is the nation of guidance and the straight religion, and it leads humanity to righteousness and truth. It transforms people from worshippers of slaves to worshippers of the Lord of slaves, from life's pressures to the pleasures of the Life after, and from the injustice of other religions to the justice of Islam.
Your ancestors, great women of Islam, were one of the main reasons for this great nation to take this great place among all nations. Allah, Who granted Islam to this nation, made a high place for Muslim women, and decreed that they share in the responsibilities of enjoining truth, forbidding evil and raising the flag of Islam. He said, what translated means,
"The believers, men and women, are loyalists of one another, they enjoin righteousness and forbid evil, they offer their prayers perfectly and give the Zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. Allah will leave His Mercy on them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise." [Noble Quran 9:71]
Allah has given Muslim women what they can bare of orders and duties. He is the God Who knows His creation,
"Should He not know what He created? And He is the Most Kind, All-Aware (of everything)." [Noble Quran 67:14]
My dear sister, you are called upon today to truly become an active member of the Muslim nation, strive to establish victory for Allah's Word, implement the Quran and help build the generation of Iman.
What Do Your Enemies Want From You?
There are those who want to distract you from doing your duty. They want to distract you from meeting your noble obligation, that is, to defend the religion of Allah and raise His Word high. Those enemies use many methods:
First: They distract you from what Allah created you to perform of worship, belief and Da'wah (propagating Islam). They use this worldly life as their bate: Jewelry stores, fashions that originate in non-Muslim countries, new models all the time, desires raised, hunger that can never be satisfied, pleasures and competition for them and endless ways for joy. Allah did not create us for this. Indulging in these matters is usually accompanied by wasting time and money and igniting enmity and competition between the rich and the poor.
Second: They ignite enmity between you and man. To those sinners, you are a daughter that is put down, a humiliated mother, an abused wife and an oppressed sister! Men are always unjust, hypocrites, dictators, freedom- preventers and suppressers, according to them. There is a fabricated war that those evil ones are starting for no reason other than to direct you to rebel against your father, be arrogant with your brother and disobedient to your husband. They do not call for justice, mercy and unity. They call for hatred, arrogance and destruction.
Third: They do not stop at their call for rebellion against parents, brothers and husbands, rather, they plot against Islam. They call upon you to rebel against the obligations of Islam and the decrees of the All-Knowing King. Islam, to them, is unjust and Islamic laws are imperfect and restrictive. They call upon you, day and night, to rebel and insist on the disobedience of this religion. They try to rid you of your religion. They try to rid you of comfort and safety under generous parenthood, happy marriage and good brotherly relations.
Those devils portray piety and honor as chains on freedom. To them, Hijab does not cover the head, but also covers the mind; prayer, fasting and Zakat are a waste of time and effort; and obedience to husbands is slavery and a return to the stone age. They distorted all facts and changed all truths, all to serve their evil goals.
My Dear Sister,
The goals that your enemies and the enemies of your religion are seeking to achieve are well known. They want you to be available for them to fulfill their evil desires whenever they wish. They want you to be a mistress that has no honor. They want you to be found everywhere, on roads and in places of sin, without honor, religion or manners. They seek for you only what they want you to do.
The Western world has gone through this all. Women of the West are the part of society that is facing injustice and dishonor. They strive to please men who keep changing partners and seek pleasures but with no responsibility and no consideration of the evil consequences of their sinful actions.
O Muslim sister, read and know about those women who discarded shyness and honor and followed their desires, what was the result of their deeds? Was their end honorable and desirable, or was it a shameful and hated end?
Advice For My Sister In Islam
Be proud of your religion and the religion of your ancestors. Be a good example for your sons and daughters and sincere in your belonging to this mighty nation.
Know that honor is an honor to all wise people, and that adultery is dishonorable to all nations, even if some called it freedom. Know that adultery is also done with the eyes by seeing, with the ears by listening, and with the mouth by kissing, as was mentioned in a Hadith related by Imam Muslim.
Your happiness is in being an obedient and believing daughter, a loyal and generous wife and a pious and merciful mother.
Know that prayer is the cornerstone of Islam. Fasting one day, for the sake of Allah, takes your face seventy years away from Hellfire, as the Hadith, related by Al-Bukhari and Muslim, states.
Charity is a major cause for gaining forgiveness and for repentance to be accepted.
Those women who are showing parts of their bodies to men, will not enter Paradise or smell its fragrance and are cursed, as in the Hadith related by Imam Muslim.
Hijab is an honor and protection for you. Hijab must be modest in color and not exotic, wide and thick and not revealing, different from the dress of non-Muslim women and men.
My Dear Sister,
These are words from the heart. These are words of good and sincere advice.
Beware of the loyalists of Satan who want to lead you astray.
Be a slave of Allah, righteous and descendent of righteous women and know your role in building this great nation.
Perform your duty and do not be a cause for destruction. Be a maker of righteous generation that will lead mankind, again, to what is right and proper, to the great religion of Islam.he
