nigerians should stop abusing the use of our armed forces. I have seen a situation in US (new Orleans) when a platoon of soldiers came across a robbery and called 911. They didn't lift a finger as its not their duty. But in Nigeria, simple armed robbery you go see army, navy, airforce, police, roadsafety, civil defence, opc, vigilante,etc. Abeg robberies are the perogative of the police to handle.

It is now you are talking. This change of the naira colour coupled with the new policy on Foregin exchange will help bring down the rate of corruption in this country. Are you aware that the foregin policy is working right now. Have you not seen or heard of people swallowing dollars or pounds just to take them outside this country.

Currency smuggling has always been around. Its not as a result of any policy. I don't see any policy working currently. Instead of changing the notes, that money would be better channeled to other sectors that can revitalise our dwindling economy.

If you think this is a foolish post, then it tells me that you are a very young fellow. Check out what lead the changing of the colours of the naira. It was due to this similar situation when politicians in the second republic were storing money in over head water tanks. So when the colour of the money was changed, most corrupt politician who stuck money away in those places were unable to change them and the money was wasted.

you just rushed to call me a young fellow without even reading the comment I made?do you even know how cumbersome 1 billion naira is? Who stores naira when pounds and dollars are still available? The policy to change the colour would just end up being a useless waste of taxpayers money.

This is a welcome development because this is the first step in tackling corruption in this country. As we all know our politicians have stuck billions of naira in soak way and don't put their money in bank to avoid being traced. We should all give it a support.

this is a very foolish post. I'm sorry to say.which politician in this century stores up money in naira? Whatever happened to dollar, pound and euro?
