Education / Re: How To Achieve High Scores On The GRE by WilliamsSmile(f): 3:08pm On Nov 17, 2018
Good day guys,

Please for those who took the exam during their service, how was it like?

DONPablosugar:

Your CGPA is impressive.
You should strongly qualify for a fully funded PhD... most especially in US schools.
Browse those school websites for transcripts requirement as the brother has rightly suggested earlier. If not required, then discard the idea. However, if required, certain reasons would suggest you do it in time.
1. Future cost might increase.
2. You do it now, you wont be pressured when the actual need arises.
3. you'll be sure to beat application deadlines easily.
4. should there be any issue, which is often the case with WES sometimes, you'll avail yourself enough time to make necessary corrections and adjustments...
Cheers
Thanks. I have no interest in a doctorate.
I intend using my MSc experience for a transfer to healthcare consulting n management consulting generally as a career. Lesser time on a single research n more time for others with implementations.

Thanks for the response.

Good day and welcome here.

From the choice of schools I see a mix of American and UK schools.

Why? Cause for me American schools are more openhanded than UK schools except if you are wealthy then no problem.

Actually be sure if your schools requires external transcripts evaluation before committing your resources to a fruitless exercise. If they require WES evaluation now is a good time to do it.

For the last question, I have no idea about anyone that has attended those schools. Hopefully someone who does drops by soon. Alternatively, you can eliminate your forlornly by using the Nairaland Search Button and see what comes up.
I'm looking towards the UK schools with the possibility of obtaining the 2020 Commonwealth Scholarship by the British Council through the nigerian education board. True, not all schools require the WES.
Thanks for the prep info n your time.

*Would search for more schools

Intending programmes: Msc Public Health /Healthcare management

Profile
UG Cgpa : 4.88/5, 3.92/4 (WES) ....Microbiology
GRE : ...

*intend giving the IELTS a week after GRE
Is there anyone applying for the above schools ?
Is it adviceable for me to begin WES credentials evaluation now?

Thanks... I'm open to any advice/suggestion pls

okay, so I hv resumed school and asked about the scholarship from the DOF office. They said the list will, by God's grace, be released before the end of today.
Where is the DOF office located?

Not yet. I think from this note they are attending to freshers first.. Not sure..just my thought though... I guess you won't have to go to futo now?

Hey?! and williamssmile. I thought u said if u see anything dof u would look the other way. How did u now come to this thread.
smileyThat's in terms of taking them seriously. It wouldn't hurt to help out on this thread, would it? Cos if it would I can still pull out on this one too. wink

@williamssmile where exactly are ur findings frm. Where else can one know more abt the foundation ant the reason for this whole delay
I asked a dof scholar at school whose dad paid before the release of the results last year..she said it wasn't refunded... It just rolls over..they will pay that of the next session...like you said earlier their office at ota is the one place, one can be briefed fully on the reasons for the delay.. The email replies are just hints.

They have not replied to ur email yet. Your own better ooo. Goodluck, I thought u had to be in financial need to apply for the scholarship. You can check them in their office if u want, it as at canaanland
'Robbing peter to pay paul' is not exactly financial buoyancy... One still needs the scholarship. I pray they respond today at least for the sake of applicants that are freshers... The devil has really been busy.

Av paid already tho...hoping they can refundthe money...cant risk late resumption tho
From my findings they won't refund. Though I pray that changes this year. I hope they respond this week to applicants.

@williamssmile no email yet? u a fresher or returning student
Not yet... I would advice you find an alternative to dof while waiting...from what I've heard the scholarship will pull through.. Their challenge is time and delay...n am not the type that's used to resuming schl a week or two weeks after resumption... Late resumption and course reg that I find hectic plus the ongoing lectures...there's no word to describe my feelings at dof right now. it's well

Please williamssmile how many ppl are they giving the scholarship. Is it possible dat after all this waiting they would deny one on the scholarship. Please let me know when the result or your status is out having problems with my email.
I wish I knew.. And it's possible ,I believe they don't expect everyone to really completely on them..life's not always fair to all. K, I'll let you know when I get an email.

Which one is gosh

I dont think anybody here applied for David oyedepo foundation scholarship. You are all aspirants after all
By that I guess am a fresher then..Lol
The scholarship is in two categories one for the freshers and the other for the returning students.
@fairzest, i sent them an email and they apologized and said it was all due to inevitable circumstances n promised to announce the results of the scholarship applications before the resumption of students, and this was last week Tuesday. I guess the reason other freshers or applicants aren't saying anything is cos they are all in praying moods. smiley It's well.

Thank God, I have found someone to be nervous with no oo, no reply yet. I have sent them email telling them that we need to know our status soonest. They said an email would be sent concerning that issue before 31st july 2016. But now they have shifted resumption i do not know whether they would be true to their word. How was your interview like what was your answer to what u would do with a million naira, i said investment, tithe and charity. It sounds good abi but the nervous wreak i was that day made it sound like i was saying rubbish.
Thank God you sent an e-mail. Am really getting tired of waiting n I almost wish I had not taken them seriously. About the question I said I was gonna use mine to build a standard lab and healthcare center here in Nigeria n then recruit few foreigners from standard organizations abroad to train fresh Nigerian graduates specifically from the biological science dept. Instead of encouraging them to pursue medical careers for lucrative reasons or settling for a sideline job cos of lack of employment. Your answer might not have sounded that bad to them... It think you were only under estimating yourself n probably you were not as composed as you wished you had been.. I had that challenge.. Relax.
