Nairaland / General / Need Advice - A Nairalander by WilsonGideon1: 8:05pm On Oct 10, 2023 |
Good evening nairalanders, I need your advice, I had my first degree (BSc) in a private university in Benin Republic (Recognise by both Benin Republic and Nigeria ministries of Education) and did my youth service in Abia state with the Ministry of Local government and chieftaincy affairs. I also got my Second degree (MSc) in one of the most recognise private university in Nigeria. Recently, I got admission to a federal university and a private university where i work for my Third degree (PhD). Correctly, this has caused a major dilemma, considering some factors like time frame, recognition of certificate, future job opportunities and other factors. Please, which of the two options do you think I should pick ? |

Nairaland / General / Sweden Declares Sex As Sport, To Hold First Competition Thursday by WilsonGideon1: 9:38pm On Jun 05, 2023 |
Sweden has officially declared sex as a sport and finalised arrangements to launch its maiden sex tournament on Thursday, June 8. The contestants in the sex tournament will have daily sexual encounters that can last up to six hours. According to Swedish local media, a panel of judges will select the winners of the sex competition, and the audience will also share opinions and analyses on the choices. The European Sex Championship slated for June 8 is scheduled to last for six weeks, as participants will engage in sexual activity daily for 45 to one hour depending on the length of their bouts. The report disclosed that the competition has three levels, and in order to advance to the next level, the contestant must obtain a certain minimum number of points at each one. The sex contenders have the opportunity to earn between 5 and 10 points in each discipline, which are decided by a mix of public votes and a panel of five judges. According to the report, the audience will watch the sex competitions and will take note of various features of the sexual activity. The couple's chemistry, their understanding of sex, their level of endurance, and other vital sexual features will all be considered when deciding who emerges winner. The head of the Swedish Federation of Sex, Dragan Bratych, said he hoped that one day sex would be regarded as a sport globally. He underlined the value of education and the possibility that engaging in sexual activity can improve one's physical and mental health. "Like any sport, getting the results you want in sex requires training," he stated. As a result, competition will inevitably start to develop in this area as well. He emphasised the unique aspects of this sport, where the object is to make the opponent extremely happy. He added the ability of the competitor to satisfy their partner determines their success in this game, in contrast to traditional sports where losing frequently leads to disappointment. |

Good day ,i do laugh a times whenever I read some post on nairaland,In the contemporary Nigeria, government as an institution still has the highest work force in country, except form some federal civil servants and those that works in the the medical departments, States civil servants earn little per-month, in some states level 9-10 earns less than 48k, even as a graduate in the civil service, you are to start from level 8, in my state, level 8 earns 42k per-month, I work with a private sector and i earn less than 40k per month while my wife earn 20k per month with a kid, it is not easy but at least we are managing . I am not encouraging such because It will never work for everyone May God crown our efforts in Life, to make money legally in Nigeria is not easy . |

England looked well placed for victory as Imani Lansiquot stormed down the back straight, kicking clear of Jamaica, but Nigeria were on the march to their left and a stunning third leg from Rosemary Chukwuma gave them a lead that Grace Nwokocha wasn’t going to relinquish. Daryl Neita put in a strong final leg for England but couldn’t make up the ground and had to settle for silver, while Elaine Thompson-Herah did a repair job for Jamaica to snatch bronze. |

Nairaland / General / Mauricio Pochettino Sacked By PSG - Sources by WilsonGideon1: 2:27pm On Jun 15, 2022 |
Mauricio Pochettino has been sacked as Paris Saint-Germain manager just months after guiding the team to the league title, sources have told ESPN. The club is yet to announce the departure of the Argentine, but sources have told ESPN it was agreed on Wednesday morning. Pochettino had one year left on his contract. PSG are still trying to secure the signing of their new boss. Christophe Galtier, the Nice manager, is now the front-runner and the favourite of new sporting director Luis Campos, who replaced Leonardo. Sources have told ESPN that the discussions are positive and Galtier, who won the Ligue 1 title ahead of PSG with Lille, in 2021, is keen on the job. Zinedine Zidane was the priority of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, who owns PSG and has been close to Zidane for many years. Zidane has been without a club since leaving Real Madrid in the summer of 2021, but sources have told ESPN that he wants to coach the France national team after Didier Deschamps leaves and is unlikely to be the new PSG boss. Julen Lopetegui, the Sevilla coach, has also been offered, while Marcelo Gallardo of River Plate and Sporting's Ruben Amorim are other names on the shortlist. After Kylian Mbappe dramatically snubbed Madrid to sign a new three-year-contract with the French champions, PSG have made numerous changes in senior roles. Sources told ESPN one of the key points in Mbappe's discussions with PSG centered around Leonardo, with whom he had an uneasy relationship. |

I am not a politician but I am from Ekiti State and resides there. Majority of the residents of the state want a change in government, because the current administration is nothing to write home about, but with this result, I can boldly say that P.D.P can never win the forthcoming gubernatorial election, they have chosen the wrong candidate, the only person in P.D.P that can strongly contest with the A.P.C candidate is the former governor of the state. Sincerely, the ruling party don't need to manipulate the result before they win. (MY VIEW) 6 Likes |

Nairaland / General / COVID-19: Ekiti Churches, Mosques Remain Closed, Fayemi Insists by WilsonGideon1: 10:55pm On Jun 15, 2020 |
Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has maintained that religious centres and event centres in the state remained shut, The PUNCH reports. The Federal Government on June 1 lifted the ban on mosques and churches in the country after some weeks of closure as part of measures to curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. The state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Olawale Fapohunda, had said a committee set up by the state government would work out modalities for the reopening of the places of worship. But in an update on Wednesday, the state Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation, Muyiwa Olumilua, said in a statement that the ban on mosques, churches, and other public places in the state is still effective. He said, “The attention of the Government of Ekiti State has been drawn to the apparent disregard by some residents for the Executive Order 7 directive, banning public gatherings larger than 20 persons, be it social, political, or religious events in the state. “Members of the public are urged to take note that though movement and business activities are allowed from Monday to Friday, the ban on large gatherings is still in force in the state. “Dusk to dawn curfew, inter-state travel, and the ban on social events like birthday parties, religious gatherings (in churches and mosques), festivals, political party meetings or rallies, as well as any other gathering of more than 20 persons, have not been lifted in Ekiti State. |

Sports / Man United Sign Striker Odion Ighalo by WilsonGideon1: 12:13am On Feb 01, 2020 |
The Nigeria striker, 30, will move to Old Trafford from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua until the end of the season but there is no option to buy in the agreement. Ighalo, who left Watford in 2017, has been brought in on a short-term deal by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to address the issue caused by Marcus Rashford's absence. Sources have told ESPN that Shanghai Shenhua also received an offer from Tottenham on deadline day but Ighalo chose to join United, the club he supported as a boy. He has 18 months' experience in the Premier League with Watford, scoring 16 goals including 15 in 37 games during the 2015-16 campaign. Ighalo is still in China but is expected to travel to Manchester over the weekend to undergo a medical and sign a contract. Solskjaer turned to Ighalo after missing out on Bournemouth striker Josh King. United had a loan offer for the Norway striker rejected and also failed to agree a fee for a permanent deal. Igahlo joins Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood as fit forwards currently available for Solskjaer's selection. |
