KingThomas1: Hallo Hallo,
Thank you for your assistance so far. Pending when the university sends the hosting agreement, I started filling the form on the CSP and oddly enough, I am not sure I saw an option to add the hosting agreement. Is that normal? Is it a case of I have to add it In the other documents section?
For better illustration, I have attached the screenshot as a document of the requested documents.
Also, I don't know if i mentioned it online, I had done the Dr. Walter for a year duration.
Thank you again! You will upload it after that recognition, in the employment something. No need of feeling the form. |

KingThomas1: Awesome. Thank you. We were looking at a possible start date of the beginning of October. Hoping the visa processing takes a reasonable amount of time. Alright, good luck |

KingThomas1: Oh, I see. Then I should look at registering with Dr. Walter now also then. If it is not too much trouble, could you share the process or package you'd recommend and cost? Any other tips you would recommend. I would have asked to continue in the DM but I imagine this would also be beneficial for all.
Thank you so much again. I used Dr. Walter Educare 24 XL. Google it. Then, I didn't pay immediately. I chose the option of paying when I get to Germany. When are you starting your contract? |

KingThomas1: Yes, I just got a mail from the university even asking if I would be needing a hosting agreement. So I am also in the process of gathering all the documents. Wanted to atleast have everything on ground. I was able to create the account on CSP.
Also, I got this from the school:
"Please inform me if you need a „hosting agreement“ for the embassy. This is a complicated process here at university. So if you will need it for embassy please inform me very early because here I need some time for it. But for display for this document we need a health insurance or a travel health insurance that says that when you are in germany before your employment at university starts, that you have a health insurance in this time, also I will need your passport document.
I would like to inform you that I got the information from a canditate in the past (also from Nigeria) that it could be that embassy need a special health insurance, so that travel helath insurance is maybe not the correct one, please ask here the embassy which health insurance you will need for the entry."
By chance, could you kindly assist? Not quite sure I fully understnad.
Thank Youuuuuu. Yes, you need hosting agreement. For the university and embassy, you need health insurance not travel health insurance. In my own case, the university suggested a public health insurance so I registered with Techniker Krankenkase which the university accepted and I also submitted it when I went for my interview but 5 days after the interview I got an email from the embassy to submit an incoming private health insurance so I registered with Dr. Walter and sent it to the embassy. I heard the embassy didn't take the former because it requires you must be in Germany before activation but the later covers you immediately from the point of entry. |

Go to CSP portal Click visa for long term stay Choose national visa for employment Click " Go to apply via CSP now" Click Visa Choose taking up employment as a highly skilled worker with university degree Then choose Nigeria Click Lagos from there you are good to go KingThomas1: Hello WInnyNellly,
Exactly. I know Germany does not treat PhD research as studies but rather as work, hence the confusion.
I did see this though (https://digital.diplo.de/navigator/ru/visa/overview/promotion) which says "If you wish to get a PhD in Germany and you have already been accepted into a PhD programme, you can apply for a study visa if you can proof that you have enough financial means to cover your living expenses."
I am still waiting for the final documents from the school but considering that there is always a waiting time, I was hoping that I am able to get an appointment pending when the documents from the school arrive any moment from now.
I am not able to register on the CSP (https://app.digital.diplo.de/login). It says to choose a "Service" first, which upon clicking leads me here (https://digital.diplo.de/). I selected visa (https://digital.diplo.de/visa). I clicked on Studies and it led me here - https://digital.diplo.de/studium. Unfortunately, it says online application not yet available.
Hence why I am not able to register on the CSP Portal.
Perhpas you have an idea how to go about this? Or I am missing something?
Thank you.

Novainni: Register on the CSP portal (the new portal) for students, then while filling the form you would be able to choose that your study leads to PhD. You can only choose your category as a PHD after registering for students visa. https://app.digital.diplo.de/login If you have hosting agreement then it researcher visa not students visa |

Abby212: Thank you very much! The admission process is super hectic. I have been reaching out to professors but nothing come out and the universities I’m seeing requires me to reach out to a professor first!! I’m looking for guide for PhD research admission
Thanks Yes, you have to get a supervisor first by reaching out to the professors. Make sure that your research interest aligns with the professors own. |

Optim56: Hello @WinnyNelly,
For your school reports, what and what did you include? Cause I see in the description, "...including all primary and secondary school records." I find the primary school strange especially if one's applying for masters or PhD. Isn't junior bece, secondary school and waec, together with one's bachelors degree transcript sufficient enough? In the school reports, I upload primary and secondary testimonials, first school leaving certificate and WAEC cert. |

Please, I was called by the embassy to upload a valid driver's license of my father because he signed the deponent. I have done that but they said the signature does not match. I don't know what else to do again but he was the one that signed it. |
