This is a little disturbing but interesting too...

It seems to me that the mythologisation of capitalism is especially funny when you consider that post-ironic GDP worship is at odds with Sinophilic production-fetishism and that's at odds with the idea of financialization as teleology. Of course, we should be careful not to assume that because arguments happen at an intellectual level that trivial and minor details don't undermine the facts in hand. The world is full of many ambiguities and is shaped by processes over time. These processes may be correctly recognised and articulated in artful poetics and those poetics may reveal genuine insight.

I hope that economic prosperity helps us in the long run even if there is darkness in the world which says it won't. Today, we see through a glass darkly.
