PoliticsOtti Gets Permission To Inspect Election Materials by WisdomCanada(op): 11:45am On May 21, 2015
The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Grand Alliance in Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, has been granted the permission to inspect the materials used in the 2015 governorship poll by the Election Petitions Tribunal which began sitting in Umuahia on Wednesday.

The ex-Diamond Bank boss, who last Friday filed his petition seeking the cancellation of the results of the poll in the three controversial councils of Obingwa, Osisioma, and Isiala Ngwa-North; was also granted leave to serve the Governor-elect, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, by substituted means.

Chairman of the Tribunal, Justice Usman Bwala, while granting the prayers, fixed May 27, 28 and 30, 2015 for the inspection, which would be done under the supervision of the police, Department of State Service and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Otti, through his legal team comprising six Senior Advocates of Nigeria led by Chief Chris Uche, is also seeking the nullification of Ikpeazu’s victory, praying the tribunal to declare him the winner of the contest.

Addressing journalists at the tribunal, Uche expressed satisfaction with the decision of the tribunal for Otti to inspect the election materials.

He also expressed confidence that his client would get justice in the end.

But in a swift reaction, the Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Chief Charles Esonu, said his party welcomed the decision of the panel but observed that it would have been better if the respondents were present in court to raise objections to the ex parte motion raised by the petitioner.

Meanwhile, the tribunal also received two other petitions from APGA factional governorship candidate, Chief Reagan Ufomba, against Otti, INEC, APGA, PDP, Ikpeazu and 22 others.

It also received another petition by Nyerere Ayim of the All Progressive Congress against INEC, Ikpeazu and three others.

The tribunal did not hear other petitions at its inaugural sitting. Other members of the three-man panel are Justice Ekeret Ebienyie and Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi.

The panel cautioned all parties to avoid unnecessary delay, stressing that all matters had to be discharged within 180 days as stipulated by the Electoral Act.

The panel which adjourned hearing till June 11 for trial also warned against any attempt to induce members with any gratification.

Foolish Canada are a tribunal judge or an APC propaganda machine, May29 is at the corner, you better go fulfill your election promises cos Nigerians will show you no mercy
i'm highly elated theres no sign of me pitching tent with any party in this list, APC can go to hell for all i care, PDP can equally make do with extinction, who cares? I support fairness, nd i think things didnt go the transperent way in those states during the last elections.

1) Okezie Ikpeazu - PDP Abia state : The swift reverse of cancellations in 3 LGAs of the sate after Gov Orji stormed the INEC collation center with other PDP chieftains is an evidence to reckon with by the opposition APGA. Many election irregularities spotted by internation observers in the state is a point worth it for the opposition APGA, since they have recorded evidence of election malpractises. The arrest of 6 INEc staffs caught thumbprinting for PDP has caused sleepless nights for the ruling party, as the InEC staffs has remained in Police custody, till when needed at the tribunals.

2) Emmanuel Udom - PDP Akwa-ibom state. : Card readers accrediting largely below the number of voters the PDP candidte won with is a pure evidence of fraud.

3) Nyesom Wike - PDP Rivers state: Suffers same fate as Akwa Ibom

4) Rochas Okorocha - APC Imo state: Looking at the margin at which the incumbent won, one can fairly stress that there was irregularities, Malfunction of card readers at the oppositions strongholds, arrest of Adhoc staffs working for the incumbent, delay in results announcement, (stalemated). A reliable source has it that the opposition has strong evidence at hand to surmount the incumbent's victory at the just concluded pools.

Feel free to add or remove.

That was how I went to a wedding reception with my Aunty, everything was moving fine and the music was awesome, we were all happy and took pictures with the couple, I took selfies with my Aunty too, her name is Mummy B, she is fat, not too fat, I love her so much.. the event was moving fine, but when they started sharing the rice, Mummy B sent me on an errand, to go withdraw some money with her ATM card in a no nearby bank, before I could return, they have finished sharing the jolly rice, I asked Mummy B if she reserved some for me, she said "ahh, Canada ure a big boy, don't tell me u still eat jolly rice at ceremonies", as she was crushing the 2nd chicken lap, supposedly mine. I calmly gave her the money and ATM card and salivated out of the event venue with a teardrop on my chin, I later found out she ate mine, I didn't talk to her for 1whole week. Buh we've reconciled. I still love my Aunty Mummy B.
