LadyGuinivere:thanks LadyGuinivere, i respect your understanding. one love! lets move on dear! yes, even though they cannot work/earn income! what about negotiate for products (trucks) and buying of such products? please what the earliest available date to apply for an event that will take place in august? |
LadyGuinivere:thanks LadyGuinivere, the idea of this thread is to share experiences and ideas, and i believe even the greatest professor in the world today can;t claim to know everything, so let be mindful of our comments. like i said its for my brother and not me but his works with a logistic and haulage company as there business operations manager. the expo was introduced to his MD who later arrange for my brother and one other colleague of his to attend the truck show. i was just curious about him attending a show. that was why i asked for the differences between a conference and expo or trade show. another question please, what are the chances of one apply to attend an expo or trade show? and does anyone here have idea of closest available date to apply for an event that will take place in august. |
Good day my good people, to all the gurus in the house, kindly assist with this question of mine. Please what is the difference between an expo and a conference? my younger brother is due to attend an expo in August, he wants to know the next likely available appointment date. And the possibility of him getting an appointment before the due date. He also want to no his chances, he has been to France 2012, south African 2012 and Ghana 2014 last. |
my sincere appreciation to fredoricko, shinejackie, LadyGuinivere and chloe7 on your responses, I have been out of town with little or no good data service around me. @LadyGuinivere, i really want to agree with you that is an issue of over trust, i sincerely do not trust what my so called cousin would have told the UK board agent like you said. @chloe7 even though most times the they've (UKBA ) already made up their mind once you a nigerian that you will want to outsmart them, forgetting that every nigerian have their own individual travel differences, i will make another trial to US again with my wife and daughter soon for summer. @prof i am likely to be in Kenya for two weeks on an official assignment, i am just trying to work things out with my MD for my family to come along with me, after which i will apply. I definitely will be back here to share the experience again. |
fredoricko:@Prof. and those that decided to extend their date of travel after been issued visa! tanks i guess it some like that! i was supposed to be in the UK Nov 2011 (for the first time) for my cousin graduation but my visa was not approved until the graduation was over, I was advised by my cousin to postpone my visit till February 2012 since I couldn't make it for the graduation, he said by then (2012) he would have applied for his annual leave from work and his wife also would have put to bed late November 2011. I finally made the trip on the 3rd of January 2012. Upon my arrival at Heathrow airport, The UK board agent asked for my purpose of visit, I told her I am on a visit to my cousin and his family, she asked where my cousin lives, I told her he lives in Hampshire, (sincerely I didn't no differences between London and Hampshire, because he had always mentioned Hampshire, Portsmouth and isle of Wight in our phone conversion) She also asked what my cousin does, I said a sales administrator (I sincerely said that out of confusion instead of ble ble.) I was asked to step aside, my passport and other documents I had with me was retained. I was taken to where my lodges were to pick them up and it was thoroughly searched, she asked how much money was on me I told her 1400pounds and I also have my master card with me, I was asked to sign some forms and later my finger print was taken and my eye test too was taken. I was later taking to a waiting area where I saw other people waiting to be questioned I guess. I was asked to drop my phone and every other thing I had on me. I met another Nigerian who told me that I am been detained. He advised me there to call my cousin and alert him of what was going on which I deeded. I had to use some of my money to buy call units which I use to call him on a pay phone inside the so called waiting area. I was later transfer to another man who put me through all kind of test and further questioning for so many hours. The man asked me of my relationship with the cousin’s, I told him is my cousin. He asks of my employment, education and marital status of which I answered him without mixing words. He told me he had called the hotel i booked to stay in London and the hotel reservation has been cancelled (I sincerely don’t know any about this), he also told me he had called my claimed cousin and that even though my cousin admitted that we are cousins but my cousin still said we are not cousin. he said my visa has been cancelled and I will be deported back to Nigeria the next day even after answering all his questions, he told me he had called the hotel that i booked and it had been cancelled, that all my answers are just about the same story they hear every day from Nigerians. I tried convincing him that I am a different and But to my surprise I was told they've spoken to my cousin and I will be given a temporary leave to remain and appeal against the cancellation. I was given another form to sign and some papers showing I was under detention and I am still on watch. I signed and was released. I never bother going to the hotel I booked for since I was told that it has been cancelled, I went with my cousin to his house in Portsmouth where I stay throughout my stay. me and my cousin approached an immigration lawyer to find a way out of the whole matter, which we were told it’s not certain to get through it seven days, he gave me options of extending my stay to appeal or return home (Nigeria) and appeal from home. Since i have my job back home and i do not have the luxury of time to stay out of work i return and appealed from home. As at the time I send my first appeal form I applied for an oral hearing with the hope my cousin will be available for the hearing. But unfortunately he declined the he wouldn't be able to make it for the hearing. I tried all I could defending myself but to no avail. at the end my appeal was turned down up holding the ECO saying that i have made false representations that i am not related to my cousin as claimed. |
LadyGuinivere:@LadyGuinivere, Thank you very much! Like you rightly said its your own opinion so i respect that! Yes, even though i have been following the thread here, i am still new (learner) here. i love my family especially my wife and daughter, besides I have a good job and i will not want to be an Elian in another man land. my trips abroad basically as always been on training and vacations, i have been to Ghana, Gabon, Kenya, south Africa, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, France, uk. Like i said in my initial statements, in the last five years I was in the UK 2012, me and my wife was in South Africa (for our first vacation as couple) 2013, but we are yet to travel with our new born daughter as family. my UK entry was cancelled it’s a long story, i was supposed to be in the UK Nov 2011 (for the first time) for my cousin graduation but my visa was not approved until the graduation was over, |
Greetings to all the gurus in the house, i am a silent follower new here, i am bit confused i will like you all to advice me. I and my family (my wife and daughter) applied for visiting visa last may and we were refused our transcript is as follows: It was a 6:30 am appointment and it goes thus: Me and my wife: Good morning VO: morning, what is your purpose of visit Me: vacation to visit my wife cousin VO: how long ME: 10days VO: have you ever travelled before Me: yes, VO: what do you? Me: I work as a marketing executive with an oil and gas firm and my is a teacher both VO: how much do you earn Me: 3xx, 000 after tax VO: does any of you intend seeking medicals in the states Me: no VO: is wife pregnant? Me: no VO: do you intend having baby in the states Me: no VO: have you ever travelled as a family? Me: no, but, I was in the UK 2012 and me, my wife were in South Africa 2013, we are yet to travel together as family. VO: sorry you are not eligible this time, I am going to give you back your passport and this paper. End…A white paper was handed over to us with our passports. Now I will like to reapply but I am not sure if I should do that alone or with my family. Another thing about my last application is that I have a uk entry cancellation on my passport, although the vo never asked any question about that during our last application and I don’t know if it contributed to why we were refused or not. |
