I am a Junior Web developer and digital marketer, I will soon be relocating to Lagos and will love to have your insights on how best to prepare for adaptation to life in Lagos.

I was brought up in Abuja and in my early 20's and will be rounding up my NYSC next month.

My reasons for considering relocating is as follows:

Remote Work hardly exists, and with the reputation, Nigerian have online, it is even harder for us.

Also, Lagos has a large ecosystem of Senior Developers, there are lots of people to learn from and grow with.

I know the journey to growing my tech skills and becoming a senior developer takes time, but i feel being in an environment and a community of like-minded individuals can drastically reduce the errs and difficulties along the way, grow my skills as a developer, benefit from the vast tech ecosystem also and learn from the tech bros..

I can not easily forget her usual lines after giving her piece of advice, she will say "I do not see you as my husband, I see you as my own son, If my son should do this same thing you have just done, will i disown him?", "you are still young, you will outgrow these behaviours and be the best man for me"

I lost my biological mother 11 yrs ago but If I call you my mother, I have a genuine reason to do so because you stood by me in a way that only a mother can.

The 16yrs wasn't all rosy, about 9 of the 16 years was full sufferings and poverty, even when I lost hope in myself, you continued to have high hopes in me without any iota of doubt.

We were homeless on two occasions in our lives and then with 2 kids, you endured with me, staying with your mom while I stay with a friend, you even came to live with me in my friend's place.

Despite the humiliation, you refused to give up on me, you absolutely signed off your whole life to me. At a point you wore your best cloth to a company where I asked you to help me submit a proposal, a young lady tapped you to inform you that your dress is torn at the back.

If you have ever had to wear a cloth that is so used up and begins to split into two from the back, you will understand what this means, my wife came home and narrated the issue to me, she actually saw the dress before wearing it, she wore it because she had no better one to wear

I couldn't control my emotions, I began to cry like a baby, I can never forget what she told me that faithful day, she said "Baby, don't worry, the same me wearing torn cloths today will have enough to wear tomorrow, I will even be giving out because it will be excess" Behold 7yrs after her words came to pass, cloths and female accessories are the least of her worries.

Your wisdom is extraordinary even me your husband can not match, your heart so pure that you forgive the unthinkable. Your ways so pure that you find it difficult to tell a lie. You gave me a girl and 2 boys. 12yr, 6yr and 2yr respectively.

You stood by your promise to see me through to success, If you look for a woman who gives in everything into a relationship without blinking, that is my wife.

You politely correct me when I am wrong, you warmly advise me and leave me to make my final decisions, you respect me as a father not as a husband.

Your culinary skills are the best I have ever known, friends and family can testify to this, you are the best mother to our kids, your daughter calls you the best mom in the world, I also call you the best wife and mother in the world. They say no perfect human but you are near perfect. You are so beautiful that people who do not know you conclude that you must have several men in your life spending money on you to look younger and beautiful even after 3 kids.

I can go on and on because there is a lot to talk about you that is not open to others, you live a private life without desperation for anything in life, You are a woman of honor, dignity, value with undying strength to carry on and remain focus against all odds.

I promise to guide our union with my life, protect our family with my strength and celebrate you for the rest of your life.

I feel I can get this off my chest by writing this here?

Forex. I've always heard about how people can trade and make money through this platform so in 2018 I decided to check what this Forex really was. I tried learning it but it was really difficult and I gave up. In 2019, around the middle of the year there was this guy can't really remember the moniker who did this Forex for biginners 101 kinda thing here on nairaland I read it and it just still felt so strange like before.

Sometimes around October a friend of mine from school started talking to me about Forex and what he said really fuelled this drive. So I came here, went through the season 19 posts. Got to know about baby pips, downloaded books, watched videos on YouTube and began to understand this whole world of Forex. and I realized that all those years I was doing it the wrong way.

Sometimes I do get these thoughts of not ever going to be able to trade the market and all that and tbh thoughts like this ruins my mood sometimes.

Whenever I see females (because Forex is mostly dominated by the males) on social media who do Forex I get turned on, not sexually tho lol, but that fits how it makes me feel. it motivates me to always come back to learn and strive everyday and hour.

So here's me saying I'm not going to give up and anyone reading this who feels like doing so should know that Rome wasn't built in a day. And things may look really dull right now but remember the grass's always greener on the other side

Hello, everyone!

I studied computer science and i'm proficient in Python and Js.I want to venture into freelancing so as to build up my portfolio and also as a means of additional revenue

My problem is my current job. I get up early, work late hours all the time, don't make decent money and have a lot of stress at work. As a result, i almost never have a free evening to study, and far too exhausted at weekends (besides, all the housekeeping routine should be done at weekends too).

If I could start freelancing:

I would be making money and practicing at the same time.

I could immediately use in practice all the new things that I will learn.

I have a huge suspicion, that freelancing would be far less stressful, than my current job.

Let's not forget about all the additional motivation!

The question is: what should i learn an practice to be sure I can start freelancing ASAP? Is there some place online where I could practice some problems that are similar to small problems that clients pay to solve?
