A man on Instagram Anthony Abraham, has narrated his ordeal in the hands of operatives of the Federal Special Anti Robbery Squad as they battered him on Tuesday in Lagos and thereafter asked him to apologise to them for making them think he is an internet fraudster, popularly called ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ boys.

Abraham took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to share his experience as well as pictures of the injury he sustained as a result of the beating.

He said the officers accosted him on Tuesday while he was on his way to Alagbole, a suburb in Ogun State, from Berger in Lagos.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve the kind of beating I received from SARS officials yesterday.

“I was on a bike going to Alagbole from Berger when they stopped me and asked me to come down from the bike which I did. Immediately, they told me to enter their van and I asked them why and that was it, rain of slaps landed on my face. They bundled me and threw me inside the Siena van. Inside the van, they started beating me, I tried to block the slaps but one of them held my hand so that my face will be open to receive the slaps. They beat me as if I was a criminal before asking me what I do for a living. I told them that I am a blogger and also an actor/entertainer.

“The beating continued again. Seriously, I was scared for my life, I began to doubt if they were truly SARS officials or they are kidnappers or ritualists. A lot of thoughts were running through my mind. By now we were approaching Ojodu going towards Ogba. After all the beating, one of them then searched my phone and saw truly that I was a blogger, he saw my blog and also saw my skit videos this was after beating me o. He searched my pocket and saw some money. One of them said I should come down but the other one said I should bring the money on me, I refused and he then slapped me again and again and then again. I told them I wanted to use the money and he said he saw another one thousand Naira in my pocket while searching me.

I told him that was my T-fare. He said that he will take me to the station that why am I wearing ripped jeans. Still, I refused to give him the money before they pushed me out of the vehicle after one of them said that I am a blogger that they should let me go before I start another #ENDSARS campaign. They also forced me to apologise to them for making them think I was a yahoo boy which I did. I still can’t believe that this happened to me in my own country.

We are no longer safe in this country.
Those who are supposed to protect us are actually killing us.
We need to #ENDSARS with immediate effect because we really can’t see the effect of SARS in our society. SARS has done more harm than good.

This is a true life story and it was not sugarcoated. It happened to me yesterday,” Abraham concluded.

What happens when relatives abandons and fails to collect the bodies of their loved ones from the mortuary?

How do a mortuary handle unclaimed bodies that exceeds the recommended capacity?

If you are still imagining and visualising the situation, that is the exact scene that meets your eye when you enter Nakuru Level Five mortuary.

Many bodies have been abandoned there.

According to the hospital's medical superintendent, Dr. Joseph Mburu, the mortuary at the moment has 39 unclaimed bodies against a capacity of 72 bodies.

The hospital records indicate that the county government buried 97 unclaimed bodies in a mass grave.

Furthermore, 50 bodies have been lying at the mortuary for more than four months awaiting identification and collection.

To make a long story short, Nakuru county has been grappling with the puzzle of many unclaimed bodies at the mortuary.

Due to this, every year the county has to incur heavy preservation costs of the bodies.

"The bodies have to be preserved like the rest despite the duration they take at the facility," said Dr. Mburu.

The county is now preparing to dispose off many unclaimed bodies. At the same time, the county will have to deal with the problem of full cemeteries as they plan to dispose the 39 unclaimed bodies.

"We have already acquired permission for disposal of 21 bodies which are ready for burial once the county government gives us some space.

"The remaining 18 will be buried on a later date," added Dr. Mburu.

What Diseases Can Be Transmitted Through Kissing?
Bacteria borne diseases that are spread via kissing:

Streptococcal Infection- This infection is caused by Group A streptococcus bacteria that are transmitted through direct contact with the discharge from nose or throat from an infected person. Kissing may expose you to these discharges and cause strep throat in you. If it is left untreated, it can complicate into pneumonia.

Meningococcal Disease- It is the infectious condition of membranes of the brain and spinal cord. It is a serious life-threatening disease caused by bacteria that can spread through direct contact or by droplets. Only deep kissing may trigger the meningococcal disease.

Gingivitis- Bacteria present in mouth or saliva can transmit gingivitis and periodontitis when exposed to infected person through kissing. Gingivitis is a disease of gum which can turn into severe form (periodontitis) if not managed properly. Tooth decay or tooth caries can also induce infection to the gum and mouth through kissing.

Virus borne diseases that are transmitted via kissing:

Common Cold- Infections of nose, mouth, and throat are called common cold. It is mediated by different viruses. Anyone can be infected by common cold by exposure to droplets in the air or by direct contact with secretions of the infected persons. Kissing can be one of the easiest ways for the viruses to get into your body through saliva.

Kissing Disease- Kissing disease or mononucleosis is a virus-borne disease caused by Epstein-Barr virus. This disease represents symptoms similar to flu such as fever, sore throat, muscle weakness, and swelling of lymph glands, thereby also known as glandular disease. The mode of transmission of this disease is also one to one mouth contact through kissing.

German Measles and Mumps- Flu, German measles, and mumps are caused by any respiratory virus. Kissing will definitely transmit these infections, sometimes before locking the lips via respiration. These diseases are contact diseases and extremely contagious.

Herpes - Herpes infection depends on the causative virus, it can be varicella-zoster and herpes simplex. Herpes simplex is marked by cold sore or fever blisters. Even a small smooch can infect your partner or children through direct contact with the virus. Herpes is communicable mainly during the shedding of the virus. This virus can infect you even after healing of the blisters.

Hepatitis B- Hepatitis B is transmitted by infected blood and saliva. Kissing can trigger the disease by transmission of the virus through saliva when the partner comes in contact with mucous membranes or open sores around the mouth of an infected person.

Cytomegalovirus Infection- This infection happens in immune deprived persons. Its common mode of transmission is saliva, blood, urine, semen and breast milk of infected person. So kissing will definitely spread the infection.

HIV- The chances of getting infected with HIV virus through kissing are very low. The only chance of HIV infection is when one gets in contact with a cut sore in the mouth during open mouth kissing.

Conclusion
Plain French kissing has less likability to catch infectious diseases. Kissing can cause the above stated bacterial and viral diseases through the exchange of saliva, air or by direct contact with the cut sores in the mouth of the infected persons. Dardik warns that hormones

regulate everything from your
immune system to your mood.
But when they’re out of sync,
hormones can make you gain
weight, feel exhausted, and
grow excessive amounts of
hair—and that includes in
your pubic area,” she says. So,
if your hair down there is
going haywire, it might be
worth getting your hormones
checked.


Ovarian or adrenal gland
tumours that secrete
testosterone could be causing
excess hair growth, physicians
say; but growing more pubic
hair won’t be your only
symptom. Extra testosterone
will also show up as hair
growth in other places —
such as your chin or sideburns
— as well as acne, thinning of
the hair on your head, and a
deeper voice.


Hair growth can also be
caused by certain medications,
or medical conditions like
polycystic ovary syndrome,
Dardik says. If you’re noticing
any symptoms, ask your
gynaecologist to check your
hormone levels.
