No one is closing Pickers thread (Mikky's, Lee's & Co) but better structuring this deals thread i.e. Separating the TLCs from the AINs thread like my political scientist said. I hail baba

Just to clear things oh cus I can see some peeps are misunderstanding the cause for concern

henrixx:
This thread, the resolution thread and the other one warning deal hunters should be shutdown.

We have to go back to the old way of posting deals on pickup threads by pickers. With a strict regulation and neat structure of how and what deals should be posted

There's no way we can shut down all pickup threads. The pickers themselves need new customers and being on a public forum is one way to advertise themselves.

So we call on Dragnet to shut this thread down. It's breeding lowballers which in turn is breeding desperate sellers which is killing buisiness

Sweet deals arent an everyday thing. A phone that costs 100k in Nigeria market is posted here for 70k by a deal hunter. An average importer gets it for 85k to bring to sell, but a prospective buyer who has seen it here prices for 80k just because he's seen a 70k tlc cos hebelieves everyone buys it that way. This is not buisiness.

That the thread is fixed permanently as the first topic on Frontpage is a flaw. It welcomes every Tom dick and Harry, who come here to price things ridiculously not knowing how things work out

Why are there issues here from time to time? It's cos of the high risk of this biz. Many phones don't come in perfect condition. A buisiness with high risk must also come with good profitability, such that it can make up for the days of losses.in this buisiness you can loose over a 100k in the twinkle of an eye. How do you then get that back if you sell for peanut profits?

OPERATION RETURN BACK TO PICKUP THREADS

They dun know

GadgetHunter:
leave Omicpet, probably doesn’t know about that

Thread for Tlc
Thread for already in Naija
That’s the way to go!!!

In d end, d thread would be closed. So, Omicpet should be given some credit for raising d concern, as many of us are afraid to speak up like he said.

GadgetHunter:
just straight to the point

Already in Nigeria (AIN) thread should be created

Total landing cost (TLC) thread should be created too

If you think you want to buy something that’s already in Nigeria you go to the ( AIN ) thread to buy or post your already in Nigeria items

And

If you wanna buy ( TLC ) items you go the TLC thread buy what you wanna buy and post what you have to sell

But if you post TLC on AIN or AIN in TLC thread dragnet should send that person on vacation (chop ban)

Very simple.

These abbreviations be sounding like political parties now

bbmike:
How do you suggest we create a means to mitigate the issues you have mentioned?

By closing down the thread? How do I now get your deals and the deals of other dealhunters. Cos I obviously buy devices from dealhunters here most times.

Like dealhunter suggested, making TLC deals a standalone thread or taking it back to Pickers (Mikky, Lionlee, Daaz et al) thread while Already in Nigeria deal owners should simply create their own thread but also most importantly having that price benchmark so dem lowballers know we ain't here to count bridges.
