Six Special South African Indigenous Foods To Try
Tripe (Muhodu)

Muhodu is the South African word for tripe. This is one of the most famous dishes in Mzansi. Many people have come forward to say how much they appreciate it, with some even stating that they would eat it every day if they could, while others prefer to consume it in the winter. However, if not properly prepared, it is the perfect food to be despised.

Benefits of Tripe
Like most organ meats, muhodu is highly nutritious and beneficial to health. Tripe is rich in B vitamins and minerals, such as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, manganese, and selenium, as well as being a good source of protein.

Muhodu contains many minerals, such as selenium, zinc and vitamin B12. The fat content is lower than that of most other meats. A 3-ounce beef steak contains 14.5 grams of fat, while tripe contains only 3.4 grams.

Muhodu is a fantastic addition to your weight loss regimen due to its low carbohydrate content. Low-carb diets lower insulin levels, causing the body to burn stored fat for energy and resulting in weight loss.

HealthChinese Man Finds Blood In Pee, Turns Out He Was Menstruating by WokeNationTV(op): 8:50pm On Jul 14, 2022
By a strange event, a Chinese man who had long seen blood in his pee went to the doctor terrified to death. The man also reported some stomach pains that lasted for several hours.

The Chinese Man was diagnosed with appendicitis by a doctor, but the symptoms persisted despite the medication. He went to the doctor, thinking he had urinary problems, but the diagnosis was something else.

Doctors surprised him with the news that he had no urinary problems, but was actually just going through his menstrual cycle.

Chen Li, a native of a small village in Sichuan province in southwest China, was operated on to treat a problem with irregular urination during puberty and repeatedly saw blood in his urine for the next 20 years.

A medical examination revealed that Chen also had female reproductive organs such as the ovaries and a uterus.

According to his follow-up report, his levels of the male sex hormone androgen were below average. Her ovarian activity and female sex hormone levels were comparable to those reported in healthy adult women.

Eventually, Chen determines to have both male and female reproductive organs.

Chen, who has identified himself as a man for 33 years, found the result puzzling. In June, she requested a procedure to remove her female reproductive organs.

HealthRe: Successful Transplants Of Genetically Modified Pig Hearts Into Brain-dead Humans by WokeNationTV(op): 8:43pm On Jul 14, 2022
HealthSuccessful Transplants Of Genetically Modified Pig Hearts Into Brain-dead Humans by WokeNationTV(op): 8:41pm On Jul 14, 2022
Researchers announced that NYU Langone Health surgeons have successfully transplanted genetically engineered pig hearts into two brain-dead patients. This is the first pig heart transplant in a living person. Experts say it’s an encouraging step for the medical field.

Following this organ transplant milestone, the researchers said they believe they are getting one step closer to the long-term goal of using pork parts to address the shortage of human organs for transplantation.

Doctors said the hearts showed normal heart function in the days following the surgery. There were no signs of rejection during the three-day experiments in June and July.

It was revealed that the experiments followed the death in March of a 57-year-old man with terminal heart disease who made history two months earlier at the University of Maryland as the first person to receive a genetically engineered pig heart. The reasons why his new heart ultimately failed are still unclear.

Nader Moazami, the surgical director of heart transplantation at NYU Langone Transplant Institute, oversaw the procedures. Moazami said the institute hopes to move forward with clinical trials using the organs in the future.

In a statement, Moazami said, “It brings me great excitement to tell you that the heart function was excellent. We had to make some surgical technical changes at the time of the transplant.”

Moazami further explained: “Partly it’s because the pig’s heart is very similar, but it’s not identical to the human heart. Partly because in the first operation we did, the heart was slightly underpowered and we had to make some changes.”

PoliticsNNPP Announces Bishop Idahosa As Kwankwaso's Running Mate by WokeNationTV(op): 4:06pm On Jul 14, 2022
The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has announced that its presidential candidate and former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has chosen Bishop Isaac Idahosa as his running mate for the 2023 general election.

On Thursday, the party made the announcement on its campaign organization's official Twitter page, where it wrote: "Our Vice President, Pastor Isaac Idahosa, of Edo State."

Bishop Isaac Idahosa of Edo State is the senior pastor of God's first ministry, popularly known as the Assembly of Enlightenment, based at Lekki Light Center (LLC), Ajah, Lagos.

The cleric who is also a gospel singer, writer and motivational speaker is popularly known as "Prophet Talk Na Do" by his followers.

Kwankwaso's choice comes after he failed to persuade Labor Party presidential candidate and former Anambra State governor Peter Obi as his running mate.

Obi's refusal to be Kwankwaso's running mate also ended the alliance talks of the two political parties as they had previously announced that they were in talks to reach an alliance before the 2023 elections.

Ghanaians’ Traditions and Customs

Here are a few Ghanaians Traditions and Customs

The Handshake
More than a greeting symbol, this elaborate meeting of palms, thumbs and index fingers begins as a normal handshake then, before the two people withdraw their hands, the palms of the hands slide together until the middle fingers touch and then turn hands so that the palms are glimpsed before joining thumb and forefinger for the signature click at the end.

A handshake to symbolize friendship and ease can be confusing at first, but it’s simple, fun, and a great indicator of showing good spirit and familiarity with another human.

The left-handed Insult
Never hand anything to anyone with your left hand, unless you want to deeply offend them.

Traditionally, before the advent of toilet paper and toilet paper, you used your left hand to clean yourself after obeying a call from nature, and your right hand was reserved for eating food and interacting with others.

So to show someone, other than a sworn enemy, your right hand is to deeply offend someone to the point of anger. Be careful!

CultureAfricans Body Parts Were Used As Scientific Experiments By Colonizers by WokeNationTV(op):
During colonization, a lot of Africa suffered being used for so many human rights abuses. Like King Badu Bonso II of Ahanta, a kingdom in present-day Ghana.

Badu Bonso II execution was as retaliation for daring to rebel against the colonial masters. His tragedy was one of many horrors perpetrated by colonialism in Africa. King Badu fought mostly against the Dutch people for becoming more pertinent for forcefully grabbing land from the natives and getting involved in the kingdom affairs. He was one of such irrevocable leader who didn't want the white men on our land and indeed fought against them until his last breath.

In 1837, Badu Bonsu II, who had had enough of the Dutch, recruited soldiers to oppose the Dutch authority. Several officers, including Governor Hendrik Tonneboeijer, were killed by his soldiers. After the execution of Badu Bonsu, his head was placed it in a Formahyde jar by Schillet, a Dutch medical officer stationed at Elmina Castle and was taken to Hague Netherlands, there it stayed and was used several years as an instrument for scientific experiment.

Badu Bonsu's head was returned in 2009 after being kept and used for 171 years. It was not until after 2009 that King Badu Bonsu's descendant buried him in a proper benefitting of a king.
