auwal87: Nice work, don't forget security and privacy. auwal87: Nice work, don't forget security and privacy. pc guru: Sweet work bro. Thanks guys. Security and privacy is definately important. |
Still working on the AppWindow and Dialogs. Hopefully, I would upload the new version for download tonight and also upload a youtube video for those who aren't ready to test it.

xterra2: Wow so nice & at this time, its only for launching twitter angry birds no ? Though they all re_direct to google.comYes, that version only goes to google when you click on any item. Its not a bug, just for testing. That version takes you away from the OS totally. But that has changed. Now you can use the AppTray to see other opened apps. Soon, you'll be able to prevent the OS from starting up automatically from the settings page. Although, this would be the default behaviour. Also, you'll be able to open or minimize the OS window by pressing the OS action icon near the address bar or tapping a key. Yes, I am aware that my html isn't HTML5. That can be fixed later. Need to update my IDE which is phpStorm. I will fix the issue with the log on page message. Thanks bro I have some features I'd like to implement but first the basic features of an OS/Cloud OS must be added. It would be great to have more people working with me. Actually, I plan to put it up on Github once it reaches a certain stage. I have added basic date and time but I'm yet to make it work realtime (not my priority yet). Thank you for taking your time to post your findings. I appreciate it bro. |
xterra2: Wow so niceYes, its multi user but at the moment its restricted to one user session. At the moment, I am yet to implement a settings page, but its going to be added soon. In the last version, it was included. Right now, you can run hosted apps (web apps). In a couple days, I will be working on the API/Framework that would allow anyone to create packaged apps and extensions with offline capabilities. Apps created with the framework would be compatible with any other platform the OS supports (firefox, andriod, blackberry and ios) in the future. |
Implementing the application stack for app view/window management. |

pc guru: Which Center, are you the short guy guys have been talking about being a GuruThe Maryland center. I don't know if I'm that short guy o but I'm not short and not tall lol. People call me Java or Intelli J |
pc guru: well yes am a student but i hardly enter class just waiting for exam, 3 years is not easy beginning to get bored and impatient,Okay. I am now a student too. How did it get to 3 years? What course/program? |
pc guru: i got your PM how do i read it,I don't understand nairaland's PM feature. I was going to ask you if you still study at Aptech. |
All right, i am back AGAIN . In my last post, i said i was going to start all over. Well, i did. At the moment, its still has nothing cool in it. What i have now is a sort of skeleton that i would be building everything on. With the current build, you can only install and create user accounts after which you'll be redirected to your "AppBoard". For now, there isn't any native or third-party app except for the placeholder icons. Here is the download link for chrome users: Sage OS v0.0.1 - 4MB Sorry about the file size (Have some on used background images in there) Over the next couple of days, i will be posting updates with download links as i code. Cheers ![]()

okeyxyz: okay!! I understand that these were not your choices, they were not my choices too. But in a team/collaborative environment, there is a period of brain-storming where everybody has a chance to make his argument to convince others of his idea, you probably didn't do that, and even if you did, you either win or lose & when you lose you have two choices: either you support the winning effort or you break away to form your own team. Yet you've done non of these, but you want to be the "dog in a manger".Okay. Thanks for the article. I was wrong, I shouldn't have called them "suckish" ideas. Carry on. |
Fools. Instead of appreciating what the JTF is doing, you are all making jokes. I guess you all think you safe here in the South. Arresting these commanders is good development. One day one of them may just provide that intel needed to crush them assuming they are not of the PDP. |
Kobojunkie: Dude, you had a chance to suggest something better but you didn't. No one is saying the ideas that were chosen where top notch -- they happen top be the ones that got the most votes. Let's just deal with that and do better next time.Okay! ![]() |
lordZOUGA: really? this is the best your imagination can do?What can yours do? |
Call me a detractor, It doesn't take away the fact that a the two ideas are "suckish" ideas. Simply tells me how a lot of Nigerian programmers aren't creative. Budget monitoring app may still be ok, but an app to guess when PHCN takes or brings power sucks (even PHCN don't follow their distribution model at times). |
Before you guys start developing a budget monitoring app, maybe you should see this http://yourbudgit.com/. Besides, who would be providing/updating the data ? Crowd sourced? |
I am in support of the Recharge Card based payment system. Such system would be extremely popular at this time when we are going cashless. It could just be our answer to a Nigerian Paypal. |
The only solution to this problem is a new constitution that provides for true federalism where there is respect for ethnicity and religion. As It is, we are aheading for a bloody and inevitable seperation. Moreso, I think this recent bomb crisis is a plot by some theives to divert attention from the pension and fuel subsidy scams. |

Learning to program takes months or years of practice. But learning to use a programming language could take less than a month. Concentrate on learning to use the language for a month then give yourself a project. If you complete the project, start another one. That's how you learn to program. |
pc guru: Just thot I cud revive that debating culture, might as well spend time watching p.ornLol |
@elvis: I sent you a mail. |
Good move. If you are really serious, i have a ready to go project that needs funding. Kennedyidialu@gmail.com |
unclenna: is not about knowing the codes but how many million you have made with it.How i go take answer this guy now? If you don't work hard to "know the codes" how will you make the millions? i smell beef ![]() |
xterra2: Hello worldbestI got your mail xterra. Sorry i haven't replied. Been busy lately. Thanks for the mail. @Everyone I am really sorry for the silence. I haven't been working on this project for sometime. As usually, i digressed to something else - A search engine of some kind. I was successful with that but i don't have the funds to run a search application at this time. Anyways, i am back and i have acquired more knowledge that would help with this project. I am going to start from scratch. Simple with minimal concentration on UI slickness. Also would be uploading updated versions of the app every week. Henceforth, this project will be referred to as Stack OS (a working title) the HTML5 companion operating system. Right now, i am taking a look at the previous codes to see what i can reuse. Once again, i am sorry for the silence. ![]() |
I play with Java, Python, PHP, JS. I've been coding for 6 years. |
Hello guys. Do you tweet about programming/technology and find that you have only a few people who actually understand you? If yes, drop your twitter username. Let's follow each other. |
