I beg now! Which one is catalytic converter again now?

At steam-wash place.

Just noticed a leaking point around d exhaust neck (d point where d exhaust gasket is) inside d bonnet. Could d likely heat coming out/escaping frm here constitute d excessive heat we r already considering?

I didnt suggest you pull out the radiator and A/C condenser for washing..... I dont know how else to explain it.

My Oga, pls dont be pissed off. As much as I respect ur candid contributns on dis forum, I got ur explanatn quite well. Tks once more.

I only felt removing d radiator/condenser wil enable thorough washin. Now dat u've emphasized it, d point is noted.

I'm learning a whole lot here. Big tks 2 u guys 4 ur prompt response: they are all matured.

Throwing more light, d ride is over 4yrs & d thermostart is nt even there: guessed dis was removed long ago.

At ur advice, what I'l need do now:
1. I'll first take out d entire radiator for steam wash & possibly d a/c condenser too.

2. I'll ask an electrician 2 add relay 2 d fan.

3. Afta dis, I'll carry out d advised self test of checking d temperature of both upper & lower hoses of d radiator.

However, I'm nt so clear abt a few explanations here:

1. Abt d temperature guage/meter in d cluster board, what temperature is it really reading? Is it 2 know d engine or radiator heat? Or sense d heat in d bonnet?

Pls pardon my ignorance. I asked dis question cos I know d guage is working bt surprised its nt sensing dis so-called ''overheating''. Why I'm so convinced d guage is working is d day (recently) d radiator fan somehow stopped working & d indicator shot 2 d peak. Being late in nite, d problem couldn't be fixed & was advised 2 patially open d bonnet 2 b able 2 still drive home safely. PLS note: d excessive heat around d bonnet had bn b4 dis period. D fan fixed d next day & d guage continues its normal reading.

Also, on d water pump; I'v always bn thinking if u hv d water movement (observed by flowing to/fro around d neck of d radiator) then d water pump is ok! Pls correct my impressn.

It is also of note dat d excessive heat happens more whenever d a/c is running. It's observed lately dat once d a/c isn't cooling again, if u check around d a/c temperature switch, u'll notice wet environmnt (indicatng gas has leaked out) & d switch itself extremely hot.

Pls help o.

D heat often makes d bonnet radiator hoses swollen: almost bursting. Every other components in d bonnet also get so heat up.
Sometimes u even feel d heat under d dashboard area while driving. D heat increases when running it wta/c: infact on two occasions, d impact of d heat has burst d a/c temperature switch in d course of which d gas leaked away.

D radiator fan wasre-confirmed working fine by eletrical technician. Radiator water isn't short.

Pls help. What could be d cause?2000 toyota rav4 auto.

I felt disappointed too initially abt d phone bt later got over it. Infact, if u r configuring manually, u wil nt even see where u'll input ur homepage, thus incomplete setting. Firstly dis made my fbt difficult. Bt now I use all major ntks (mtn, glo, airtel & eti)on it.

For d glo, try send 'flat' to 1234. Dis shld giv u its auto setting. To use any given glo free mb data, under Settings > Configuratns, activate/select Mobile Internet. For subscribed data bundle, select any of d remaining two settings. Only glo does dis ayway.

For Mtn, eti & airtel, I got them thru auto requests. And they r all working well. I can't readily remember those codes now bt google it 2 find out d codes 2 request auto internet configuratn 4 ntwk of ur choice.

Hope dis helps. Gurus in d house can throw more light.

Hi all. I'm one of d proponents of value-for-money esp. when it comes 2 epileptic gsm ntwks in naija.

However, I got stunned lately abt d downward review on MTN voice call tariffs, atleast on SuperSaver & Smooth Talk or so.

I mean u can now call @ 0.10k to ALL ntwks afta 0.42k of d 1st 1min: yet no daily access fee or any other hidden conditn!

Pls note, I'm never a fan of MTN neither am I canverssing 4 them. Infact, I dropped off my two MTN sims long ago. BUT IN ALL FAIRNESS, does any standard ntwk beat dis rate at d moment?

D essence of dis quest is simply 2 help d decision of average Nigerian like me who are at d cross-road of minimising cost.

I use 2000 toyota rav4 (auto) & just started to notice dat my power steering gets strong when negotiating bend or in very slow drive. But when in full straight motion it gets normal (soft).

Also when I noticed shortage in d power steering fluid, I 'topped' it thinking it might be d cause, yet d problem persists. Ironically, I can't stil find any leakage. Even d tyres are well guaged.

Now my mechanic is saying d problem is an indication of steering pump malfunctionin. Pls could he be true? And if true, is it 2 be repaired or replaced? Any idea of d price?

Or what could it be? Pls help.

Having noticed d a/c nt coolin again I took it 4 gas refill. Afta doing dis d a/c came up cooling well. But right there we noticed d condenser goes so hot. D technician said dis wil make d a/c nt to last & can even spoil d compressor.

Asking him of d possible solutn he said MAY BE d fan is not blowing well & we may need 2 buy another fan. I maintained if d fan isn't blowing well, ought it nt 2 hv made d car over-heatin? And no sign of over-heatin!

I ask him 2 halt action til I hear frm gurus in d house. Pls what do I do? Thx in adv.
