The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has disclosed that it has concluded arrangements for the commencement of the sales of 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration forms. This was contained in the Weekly Bulletin of the Office of the Registrar and made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja.

According to JAMB, “This year’s exercise, unlike the previous years, is peculiar because of the series of disruptions which has necessitated the delay that is being experienced. The board also stated that it has made some strategic adjustments, aimed at ensuring that academic activities are not unduly impacted.


The board said that official dates for the commencement of the sale of forms for both 2021 UTME/DE and the conduct of the examinations would be announced not later than March.....................

Candidates that are to sit for next year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, will likely have their applications linked to their National Identification Number, NIN.
The Head of Corporate Affairs, NIMC, Mr. Kayode Adegoke, who spoke to newsmen, said the NIN will be used as one of the criteria to register UTME candidates from next year because the earlier agreement signed between the two agencies is still subsisting. He explained that the NIN was not used in the 2020 exercise due to some technical hitches that have been taken care of by the agency.
On whether NIMC would have the capacity to capture the over two million prospective UTME candidates, he said measures had been put in place to capture at least four million persons in a month. In addition, Adegoke said with the recent licensing of 203 agents to boost the capacity of the agency, the issue of capturing two million UTME candidates would not be an issue since the number of enrolment would be increased when the agents come on board next week. ‘The NIN was only canceled this year for UTME registration due to some technical hitches but will be used in 2021.

Two final year students of the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area have died in a ghastly motor accident.
The sad incident reportedly happened on their graduation day.

The students have been identified as Annabel Ogaga Akpofure and Oke Melissa. Annabel was the Departmental President of Accountancy while Melissa was of the department of Mass Communication, both HND final year students.
The accident involving a commercial tricycle and a Lexus Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) occurred along
the Isselle-Azagba/Ogwashi-Uku Road while on their way to a ‘graduation party’ last Friday, November 13.
It was gathered that the students wrote their final papers that day and were joined by other friends for the party about 8pm when the accident happened.
