HealthVacuuming Mouse Droppings May Be A Really Bad Idea by WriteArticleAga(op): 3:17pm On Jun 27, 2022
I've read you shouldn't vacuum mouse dropping, but they're way back in the lower corner cupboards where I need to put dishes.

It's been 2+ weeks since we caught the last mouse. Sprayed with a solution of bleach and picked up whatever we could with paper towels. Turns out the opening was smaller to get into and reach the back though.

Perhaps, putting fresh plastic liners on the shelves will work better. You don't want those mouse droppings in there.

Also, you'd get the mice in your home again if there are many holes from the way your condo is designed and how the cabinets are installed.

The point is:

Vacuuming them is fine, provided your vacuum doesn't just spread it around. Make sure your vacuum uses HEPA filter before using it to vacuum the possibly airborne Hantavirus-infected mouse droppings.

Wetting the droppings to helo prevent contaminated dust and also wear a good dust mask for very fine particles. I would also recommend using a disinfectant on these areas after vacuuming as the mouse urine can be dangerous if inhaled as well.

Just spray them down with a disinfectant, so they are moist and don't turn to dust and spread everywhere when you vacuum them up. Once you vacuum them up, empty your vac right away and then you have no worries.
