🇬🇧 UK Police investigated a soiled pair of underwear hung on a washing line as a non-crime hate incident (NCHI), it has emerged.

In September 2021, a woman complained to North Wales Police that her neighbours had “hung a very large soiled pair of underpants on their washing line” for the past two months.

The force recorded it as a hate incident because the complainant had an Italian surname and the underwear was first put on the washing line in July that year. That month, Italy defeated England on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the final of football’s European Championships.

The incident, disclosed by North Wales Police under freedom of information laws, comes as police face increasing scrutiny for their handling of “hate” incidents.

The incident summary reports: “Known offenders have hung a very large soiled pair of underpants on their washing line, they have been there for over two months.

“The IP [injured party] believes that [they] are aimed at her because she has an Italian surname and it is in regards to the football.”

Some 13,000 NCHIs were recorded over a year up until this June.

Other incidents recorded recently included a person who refused to shake hands in an alleged gender row and a “rough” haircut reported by a customer who claimed his barber was “aggressive” following a discussion about the war in Ukraine.

The war in Ukraine has gone beyond Zelenskyy. It's a show of force, power and authority between Russia and the USA. Putin is still pained by the dismantling of the USSR, majorly by powers from the west, and he's doing all he can to lord over the baby countries that emerged from the USSR disintegration. A defeat to Ukraine, is a defeat to the USA. It's either the same USA will broker truce, or support Ukraine to expose Russia's weaknesses. Only time will tell.

The new intermediate-range ballistic missile, Oreshnik, which means hazel tree in Russian, is a nuclear-capable weapon that has not been previously mentioned publicly.

The Pentagon said it is based on the “RS-26 Rubezh” intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM).

Hypersonic missiles travel at speeds of at least Mach 5 – five times the speed of sound – and can manoeuvre mid-flight, making them harder to track and intercept.

The missile can have three to six warheads, military expert Viktor Baranets wrote in the Komsomolskaya Pravda tabloid.

🇷🇺 Russia started mass-producing mobile bomb shelters capable of withstanding nuclear weapons while ominously accusing President Biden of risking a potential World War III.

The “KUB-M” shelters are designed to offer protection for up to 48 hours against radiation from a nuclear blast or natural disaster, Russia’s emergency ministry research institute said.

They house up to 54 people and can also protect against explosions and shrapnel from conventional weapons as well as falling debris from buildings and dangerous chemicals and fires, according to the institute.

Russian officials did not share a reason for the heftier safety measures. However, the announcement comes mere days after Biden agreed to allow Ukraine to fire US long-range missiles into Russia, ramping up concerns about a potential WWIII.

On Tuesday Russian President Vladimir Putin also approved a new official doctrine that lowered Russia’s threshold for using nuclear weapons.

The KUB-M shelters look like shipping containers and consist of two modules, including a room for 54 people and a technical block. Additional modules can also be added if needed, the institute said.

They can easily be transported on a truck and are reinforced to withstand Russia’s vast northern permafrost.
