⚡Russia will agree to a meeting between Putin and Zelensky only after Kyiv’s capitulation, says Ukraine’s Deputy Foreign Minister. “Putin’s mandate at the Istanbul talks is to force capitulation. Their logic is opposite to ours. We say: let’s establish a ceasefire as a step towards creating conditions for a leaders’ meeting, fostering a constructive environment conducive to agreements. They openly say: ‘No, first you accept our demands — capitulation — and only then will we arrange the leaders’ meeting. After that, you deal with implementing those demands,’” said Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Serhii Kyslytsia in an interview with The Kyiv Independent, citing the Russian delegation in Istanbul.

No mining had taken place at Loulo-Gounkoto since January when Malian authorities seized some three tonnes of gold from the mine’s reserves. The new administrator is selling some gold stock to finance the restarting of operations, an economy ministry source told AFP.

"We already have over 230 million people," the minister said. "You will be the same person that will castigate us if we acquiesce to accepting Venezuelan prisoners into Nigeria," he added. "It will be unfair for Nigeria to accept 300 Venezuelan deportees," he said, suggesting that the recent visa curbs on Nigerian travellers by the US was not "reciprocal" but a pressure tactic.
