|
⚡Greece unveiled its official Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) map. The plan grants full maritime rights to all Aegean islands—including Kastellorizo, just 2 km off the Turkish coast—raising renewed diplomatic concerns in Ankara. Greece claims full maritime rights for even its smallest islands like Kastellorizo (Meis), just 2 km from Türkiye’s coast. Based on UNCLOS, Athens argues it can claim up to 40,000 sq km of maritime zone due to the island. Türkiye calls this “irrational and maximalist,” arguing equity should override strict distance rules when an island is far from its mainland but extremely close to another country’s coast. Germany and others have echoed concerns over “maximalist” Greek claims.

⚡Consequences of the recent Russian KAB glide-bomb strikes on Lyman, Donetsk Oblast. Lyman is an important logistical hub for the AFU and currently houses forces from the new "2 arrow" tactical sign. It directly supplies forces in the Siversk salient and those trying to contain the Russian bridgehead on the western bank of the Zherebets River. Interestingly, Lyman isn't targeted very much with glide-bombs, much less than you'd expect considering its importance to the AFU. Compare it to Krasnopillya in Sumy Oblast or Borova in Kharkiv Oblast where they are targeted several or even dozens of times daily. Either way, several KABs have targeted Lyman in recent days, although interestingly, the Donetsk Oblast Administration has not reported on them in their daily reports on damage to Donetsk Oblast.
