We must press until we achieve a ceasefire, advance along the lines of sanctions, diplomatic pressure and the arms embargo. There should also be an embargo on arms sales to Israel. ⚡Israel wants to control Gaza's border with Egypt and to fully take over the sector's security issues, according to American journalist and Pulitzer Prize winner Seymour Hersh, referring to his own sources. Hersh writes that Israel wants to control the entry and exit of people from Gaza, as well as the border with Egypt, which was previously controlled by that country. "The goal is to control smuggling into Gaza, but it should not be done by the residents of the region," Hersh said in an article published on the Sabstek platform, citing a source from Israel. Hersh points out that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not listening to high-ranking American officials who have been in the country. "There is a power vacuum in Washington, no one is managing the process." They are just working to get re-elected. It's scary and shameful," said another source cited by the journalist. |
