Federal character is not based on local government area but on State. If the 3 of you are from the same house and qualified you are good to go

I beg to disagree on your response bro, as far as NCS is concerned, if 3 of you guys came from one local government and all qualified they will have to use other criteria again to drop 1/2 maybe d person with least age, or most times they favour female other things might be concidered. because they want the recruitment to be evenly distributed among all the local govt in Nig. I know the person that asked d question might have heard something bfre asking .

Note.... I'm not saying this to get u scared bt that's the truth I'm also affected with that stuff by I know God will make a way fr us. Amen

ABUJA- The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Hameed Ali has said the Nigeria must reduce the importation of used vehicles in order to encourage local manufacturers and enable the increase their production capacities.

The CG customs stated this while appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise on Tuesday in Abuja for the appraisal of 2020 budget and the defense of 2021 budget proposal.

Hameed Ali, a retired Col. in the Nigeria Army also told the committee that raising the revenue target of the NCS from N1.4 trillion to N1.679 trillion wouldn’t be realistic, but that the agency wishes to meet and surpass its target ad reflect same.
On used vehicles, Ali said: “The more we reduce the incidence of used vehicles in our country the better, because most of the vehicles coming into Nigeria as used are rickety vehicles that have been rejected as scraps in their countries of origin. So they come here and make our country a dumping ground for used vehicles.”

“Many of them break down Even at the point of clearing and when you see them on the road they are vehicles but routinely die and cause unnecessary traffic,” he said.

Explaining the revenue target and the need to leave at N1.4 trillion, he said: “The target set by Federal Executive Council was not based on random reasoning but from sectoral analysis done by the CBN and economic advisory team.

“As you know, the African trade and economic agreement has come into effect. If you take this treaty into consideration, you’ll understand that many of the things we hitherto levy are now outside the revenue net.

“So it’s also our hope that if we get anything above 1.4 trillion we will gladly work with it, so I don’t want to set the target too high and then fail to meet, so I suggest we retain N1.4trn and if we’re able to meet the target, good for us and the country. And I assure you that anything collected beyond N1.4 will be reflected in our report as we have always done”, he added.

The CG customs also informed the committee that Ministry of finance has bought 4 scanners and by May they will land in Nigeria.

“The CBN has also pledged to get some for use at land borders to safeguard the borders. So in the next two years, issues regarding scanners will be solved and we will have approved routes functioning effectively. However, people still bring in contrabands through approved routes on motorcycles and even donkey backs,” he added.

Ali urger lawmakers to help educate their constituents on the illegality and dangers of smuggling as many of them don’t even know it’s a crime to engage in smuggling.

Lawmakers had noted that after the Covid-19 you were able to collect above its set target with over N300bn from VATs.

“So looking at this, we cannot go to the floor of the House with this proposal.
We are going to remain with the initial target of N1.63 trillion. With this am sure you can meet the target you’ve set for yourself of N300bn every month”, Committee Chairman, Leke Abejide said.

Members also observed that out of the revenue generated, a certain N91.1bn was being set aside as retained earnings which the queried for explanations.

“We understand that there is a certain amount meant for recruitment and we want to know how much is it, and how many officers it would capture.

They also kicked against the Customs retaining earnings of N91bn which the service sets aside for operational cost, saying that if such an amount is taking out of revenue generated, then it’s no longer retained earnings, but withheld earning from government.

Observation regarding the policy of banning vehicle importation via land borders was also made by members who said that such a policy only creates avenues for individual custom officials to make money through bribes taken from smugglers.

Lawmakers said despite the ban, smugglers still connive with customs officers to bring in vehicles while to country loses revenue.

According to them, lifting the ban will give room for importers to use land borders and pay the necessary duties to government instead of smugglers bribing customs officers at the expense of government.

I wanted to share how my Screening, medical and endurance run was before but I just let it slide
From what I saw at the screening and the way each state official and south West region official behave, it's just like they praying for us to pass all the process.
I did mine at ikeja, level 4.. according to what they said , they where expecting 240plus but only 88 showed up for level4 in south west only.. The custom police even took us on a slight parade telling us to prepare for camp at any time... One was even telling us that u people get strong leg with your Abuja slot that even Dem , their Candidate weren't shortlisted
One was telling us that we should make sure we conclude the run within 20mins....
Every Single Info Mr Ahmed shared here all came out true...
pls forget the critics or negativity and be very hopeful ones u know that u pass the medicals which is very important

Bro, pls chart me I did my screening @ikeja 07031082032

Out of every 10 people dat went for the screening... only one will be qualified meaning out of every one hundred candidate only 10 will be selected and out of the 3, 200 only 400 to 500 maximum will be selected on merit. The rest na slot, and the majority of the merit candidate without connection na junior staff. Lol. Even soja na 1.68 hieght but custom, them tell u say na 1.70. Use ur no. 6 if u get one.. Them go check chest , BP, 4 klm in 20 mints ECG etc... forget character, them fi tell character that those who represent so so local goverment all of them no meet criterie. Common sense should tell u If the wanted to pick the 3, 200 out of the shortlised they would have shortlisted atleast 20,000 candidates for the screenin...Wetin character go do if u no reach criterie. So lets all keep praying. If u no gree ur on ur own ( OYO).
CUSTOM SCREENING NO DE DIFFRENT FROM ANY OTHER PARA MILITARY SCREENING IN NIJA... The real game starts after the formalities! Goodluck everyone

Well, I Wana believe that's ur opinion but always think positively cos I will want to consider all you said as jagons , the system have really changed, it's no longer the way it's used to be . Trust me I'm a living withness , though at first twas like a dream bt after the screening my orientation have changed. As for now I believe in one word ITS DOABLE.

Seems you didn't comprehend my post.

I said the Year in which you started primary school or completed it.

That would be use as a basis for calculations of your age provided.

For example let's say.. You finish primary school in 2001 as stated on your primary school certificate and your age declaration shows you are just 22 or 25years old now.

While in the real sense. You should be 30 now at least give or take .

Normally the screening commitee have a master list which reveals all candidates information filled during registration such as Date of birth, state of origin.

So make sure your documents have such dates used on.

Don't give room for any disqualification for false information.
