Your experience with automobiles plays a huge part in what i would advice to be your first ride.
Your expertise in driving plays a part as well, for example, if you are just new to driving, i would not advice something expensive at all, but if you are guru in driving, but just owning your own car for the first time, the choices are endless.

What i would advice that you buy as your first car would depend on:

Maintenance - Some are easy and cheap and some are expensive . . .  Do you care about this or does not matter to you? access to maintenance is very important

Gas/Fuel Consumption - Some rides uses more gas than others to power the engine, so some might have to compromise power for savings on gas, someone like myself, i hate driving a car that drags and most 4 cylinders with small engine are like that, and that is one of the reasons why i do admire some cars only from afar.

Parts and Labour - Some cars' part are readily available in Nigeria and some are not  . . . Nigeria seems to be a nation for toyota, Honda and some other few, so their parts are easy to find and cheaper to fix when needs be.

Mechanical knowledge - Most mechanics in Nigeria are only good at cars that readily available to them and this made it difficult to fix other car, the only one that i am not in agreement with is mechanics advising people to stay away from V6.

What would you be using the for ?
- Work
- Fun
- Travelling

Also, your budget is so important too, cos there is no need looking at a 3M Naira car when we working with budget of 2M naira.

If just for work, i would advice to just get some simple and cheap.
If for fun and visiting friends, you will need something that will be a little better for work.
If for travelling, then, you need something really good that can combine all that together, cos you have to worry about the cargo space and still with enuf toys to make the travelling fun.

So look into all these and then, we will advice on what to look into.

However, Eclipse is one nice ride, but what i am not sure is mechanical knowledge of the mechanics in Nigeria.
Also, the fact that is a 2 door machine, it is not as cheap as people might think.

the 2003 is a little cheaper and there are more that year in the market compared to the 2004 that you wanted, to buy the 2004, you will be looking at purchase price of around 9000$$ and that, i think it ridiculously expensive, you could even get a 2006 Camry for such price.
So with all other charges for a 2004 Eclipse, it will be delivered to you at a cost of 2M Naira ( Too expensive is you ask me)
2005 Eclipse will be delivered at a cost of 2.1M Naira
2006 Eclipse will be delivered at a cost of 2.1M Naira
2007 Eclipse will be delivered at a cost of 2.35M Naira

Considering your budget, tell us which one you would like to see pix of and we will post for you, or when we are a little less busy, we will post pix of what is available.

However, if you want something more reliable, cheaper to maintain, easy to fix by Nigerian mechanics, we would advice you get something in the Toyota, Honda, Nissan and other popular brands in Nigeria . .  . but if you would like to be unique, what budget are you working with and we will bake something good for you.
