[/color] I’m not sure why I missed this quote earlier but some of you really need to get down from your high horses and stop acting like some know all when in reality, you just know as much as the next person. 1. You work and earn ₦300,000. You want to leave this job for a while 28 days to another person's country, without having enough, as you're being sponsored. This means your own income cannot sustain you for the 28 days but that of your sponsor [color=#770077] you were quick to conclude that I don’t have enough because I was being sponsored. You don’t know me, you don’t know the context of the sponsorship. But somehow, you’ve concluded the sponsorship equates to me not having enough. I have savings and investments which I included in that application hence the ECO acknowledging my salary and not questioning it.

2. This same issue of large deposits came up. Can you all not always clean your accounts? If an account is tagged salary account, let only your salary drop and if anything else must drop, you have to explain. [/color] again, you have come to another conclusion here without context. Salary credit does not equate to salary account. I have one major account for all my inflows which is not out of place in the Nigerian context.

3. Officer mentioned immigration history. Have you travelled out of Nigeria before? Have you also been refused entry to UK before?

[color=#770077] all the comments on this quote could have been conveyed in a kinder manner and it wouldn’t take anything from you.

I think the whole point of departure interview and asking for proof of funds is subjective/random. I got in on Wednesday and I didn’t go through any of these.

Please I have a question about proof of fund. I intend to start counting from 4th of June to 1st of July for the 28days but there was no transaction carried out on the 4th of June and the only transaction showing is today which is sms charge. Will there be a problem with this? The opening balance and the closing balance is the same though.

Just trying to understand the process a bit better:

For the 2nd application (which was successful), did you receive the decision letter via email, or was it just the collection mail from VFS?

For the 1st application (which was refused), I assume you got the refusal letter by email—just confirming?

I didn’t get a letter the second time. Just a collection mail from VFS.

Yes I got the refusal letter via email.

If you didn’t get a refusal letter, there are high chances the visa was granted.
I’ve received a collection mail for a family member, and we’re trying to decide if it’s safe to go ahead and book a flight before picking up the passport.

Congratulations, Please kindly share what you did differently after the Refusal.

The reason for the refusal is in the attached email. What I did differently was to attach a schedule of explanations of the deposits into my account with backing evidence for the explanations.

I also included proof of my US visit which I didn’t include in the first application.

Also included a cover letter spelling out my ties to Nigeria including the fact that I am a valuable staff at my job and I included my LinkedIn details and awards and commendations from work.
