PoliticsRe: SCANDALOUS: Outrage In Nigeria As Government Brands National ID Card With Master by xier: 8:50pm On Aug 29, 2014
Some comments on this topic sincerely shows how illiterate most of us are. How can we have symbol of mastercard or even visa on the International Passport, the drivers's licence or even the voter's card when they are not equipped as payment solutions. The new e-identity card is a General Multi-purpose Card and for me, this is kudos to not Mr President nor to the DG of NIMC but to Nigerians for a job well done. Someone will ask, why did they not use Verve and I will quickly ask, which of the verve cards work abroad when even in Nigeria, verve doesn't work on all ATMs. Our new e-identity card can be used as a payment solution in any part of the world and as such must operate through an internationally accepted payment platform. If I may ask, why have we not asked why our banks issue us with ATM cards with Mastercard or Visa logos. We think are sounding patriotic by condemning this giant step in the right direction but I can bet we are rather showing how uninformed we are. Since we are talking about securing our data, how come your passport reads when we travel to other parts of the world. What information exactly do you think they see and what do they reconcile it with? For once in your life, commend government and it will not take away anything good from you.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nimc 2012/2013 Interview by xier: 12:59pm On Nov 27, 2013
If I were allowed, I will advise that NIMC uses this year to conclude on her recruitment exercise and every recruited staff resume fully by January 2, 2013 even though their salaries from date of employment being October 2013 will have to be paid as the recruitment delay is no fault of theirs.
