‎Why did businesses in the West decide to outsource, on mass, to China rather than India?

‎India loat it to China in the last 3 decades because of these  3 basic reasons.
‎These are what India lacks, that allow Chinese rapid access to skills, investment & foreign market..

‎(1) China under Mao has the world largest number of factories, more than US or Europe combine, producing everything from kitchen utensils to bicycles & automobile. Due to Mao insane policy of national self-sufficiency & rapid industrialization, virtually every single county or city would hv its own large-scale factories making everything from scissors, radios to motorcycles. Most however, produced very low quality product that cant be exported overseas. These factories had the space, equipment & personel to be easily converted to cheap efficient manufacturing hub.

‎(2). China also has Macau, Hong Kong, Taiwan & Singapore, fellow wealthy industrialised Chinese state (Asian Tigers), who are eager to help the motherland. Not to mention millions of wealthy Overseas-Chinese businessman in South East Asia. They answer the call to build their ancestral home, that for many years was the source of embarrasment because it was so backward. Together they move their factories to cheaper mainland, or invested in Chinese factories. They provided the necessary know-how, management skills, market & financial access. The same way Jews around the world help build Israel. Its no wonder early Chinese Special Economic Zone, ie: Shenzhen, Zhuhai & Xiamen were built in close proximity to those states.

‎(3)  The Chinese were ashame & jealous of Japan, as well as, other wealthy Chinese state. The Japanese culture were borrowed from China, centuries ago, how could they be so much wealthier than China. The Japanese insult during WW2, calling China: The Sickman of Asia, was seared into the national psyche of many Chinese. These leads to tremendous drive among many the Chinese masses to get rich. If “they” can do it, so can we: becomes the mentality of many Chinese.
