Aguata C-Unit Charity Football Competition Kicks Off, Set to Uncover Emerging Football Talents

The Aguata C-Unit Charity Football Competition has kicked off with Community Secondary School Nkpologwu and Community Secondary School Isuofia respectively defeating their opponents, Government Technical College Umuchu and Christ Redeemer College Amaesi.

During the opening match which took place at Umuchu Mini Stadium, Community Secondary School Nkpologwu defeated Government Technical College Umuchu through a penalty shootout after a long and tough battle in first and second halves of the game, while Community Secondary School Isuofia defeated Christ Redeemer College Amaesi with two goals to one.

Declaring the match open, the Mayor of Aguata Local Government Area, Dr Chibueze Oforbuike appreciated the owner of the C-Unit Label, the sponsor of the tournament, Chief Onyedika Ike for the gesture which he said will help discover young talents in football world, and encouraged other wealthy individuals to emulate him in partnering with the government for a more developed and prosperous society.

In various interviews, the representatives of C-Unit Label, Mr Alex Okechukwu, and Mr Chukwuebuka Nwafor while disclosing that twelve schools in Aguata Council Area are participating in the ongoing tournament which will end on 13th June, 2025, with the winner going home with the sum of one million naira, second runner-up, six hundred thousand naira, third place, three hundred thousand naira, and other consolation prizes, assured that the initiative will be sustained and will soon be taken to the state level as it is one of the ways through which C-Unit Label gives back to the society and assists young talents to shine.

PMAN PRESIDENT REMAINS SUSPENDED AS THEY STRIVE FOR POSITIVE CHANGES.

After being caught with his hand in the cookie jar, Pretty Okafor remains suspended as PMAN president.

He remains suspended from his position due to some serious allegations and the matter is currently under review by the National Industrial Court in Lagos.
The union that has for the past years worked hard to clean up its image, will not allow anyone soil it with ilegalities.

It has also been brought to the notice of the National Working Committee of PMAN that the suspended Pretty Okafor has been trying to present a meeting organised by the registrar of the trade union as a declaration of his authority. This is misleading and yet another reason he remains suspended.
It is important to clarify that the recent meeting held in Abuja with the Registrar of Trade Unions, Mr. Folonipe Amos, was convened to address internal PMAN disputes and reaffirm the necessity of following PMAN’s constitutional framework.

The gathering was intended solely to discuss general matters of union conduct, and the Registrar’s involvement was to mediate discussions, not to validate or reinstate any party.

In fact, the NWC is scheduled to meet with the Registrar of Trade Unions again shortly.

Kindly disregard any publication saying otherwise from any quarters.

Given the nature of these accusations, the NWC maintains that it is in the best interest of PMAN members and the public to exercise caution.

Until a legal ruling is issued, Mr. Okafor’s suspension remains fully in effect.

The NWC is committed to upholding transparency and accountability in PMAN.
