Inverter spec.
Your inverter has 85V minimum solar PV input.

A piece of 620w solar panel ranges from 46v to 50v depending on the brand.

2pieces of such panel may not output the minimum voltage required to start the MPPT charging of the inverter earlier enough, it may during peak sun hours though.

You need a least 3pieces as minimum requirement..

Your inverter can even take up to 6000w of solar power.

I'm yet to get it.

The price for it is not something to go experimenting with at this point in time.

The only issue is that no one seems to be coming up with a detailed review of the product.

I may get it at a later time when I have the luxury of funds.

Please busy minds how many litres of water frezes into the big size of ice blocks commonly sold 500 naira
The normal capacity when filled to the brim is around 4.7 - 5 litres. But when filled to the brim it is hard to tie up.

There is no one size fits all. It depends on individual preference. 4.5litres is the average that gives room for handling and tieing. You can add to the 4.5litres if you can tie it up.

Does anyone have any experience using this thermocool standing freezer?

It has 8hours written on the body as how long it takes to produce ice block.

I want to know it that is really true from someone who has used it or knows someone who do.

ceaser:
317L thermocool inverter freezer (24hrs for chilled drinks supply)
207L thermocool freezer (24hrs for ice block supplies)
203L Ignis freezer (24hrs for house foods)
Desktop fridge (24hrs)
1hp LG inverter AC (intermittent), 1hp submersible pumping machine (intermittent)
Sundry appliances (Lightings, TVs, Chargers, Food blender, Washing machine, Cameras, Sec. Alarms, water Fountain (24hrs), DC standing Fans, Gate opener etc) - intermittent

These are the appliances I can think of for now

Setup:

320w mono panels (16pcs) on 5kw 48v felicity hybrid
150w mono panels (8pcs) on a different Charge controller
150w mono panels (4pcs) on a second Charge controller

25ah 48v Lithium (10pcs)in parallel to make 250ah
280ah 48v Lithium (1unit)
Total LFP - 530ah 48v (25kw)

All these gets fully charged at days with good sun hours by 3pm
Less so during rainy seasons or dry seasons when dust cover on the panels is unavoidable and at those times, load shedding becomes a priority and the freezers are turned on and off at intervals.

There is another 24v system with 4pcs 320w mono panels and 300ah Lithium that powers a separate 203L Hisense freezer dedicated for Ice block supplies.

MY loads at any point in time, excluding the AC usually ranges between 800w to 1200w, the former being at off peak periods when everyone has retired to bed.

All has been running for a minimum of 7 to 9 years. All were not done at once but gradually built up, which explains the different lithium configurations and the rather awkward panel configurations and 150w and 320w specifications which represents the different times in history when such panel sizes were the mainstream. And it was mostly DIY.

Note that some of the appliances like the Router, Cams, Security Alarm, Some lights, Water fountain, Sliding Gate openers are all DC powered appliances that each have small packs of lithium batteries so that even when there is AC power supply shutdown, these vital components still continue to run for at least 10 hours.

Thought this might give you an insight into what you may require for your frozen food business.

Good luck
Is your 207L thermocool freezer the standing freezer?
How many hours does it take for it to produce ice blocks?

Between sako 2kva 12v inverter and Luxsun 2kva 12v inverter, which is better and recommendable.

Sako has a power factor of 0.8 while Luxsun has 1 on its specification which I doubt.

Can someone who uses or has used it confirm it.

Luxsun also did not give the conrinous power/surge power.

Other good and better inverters in the 2kw 12v category are welcomed.

Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by xzynwa: 5:00pm On Aug 21, 2025
Since the aforementioned already exists, just go get a battery charger, 12/24v depending on the setup of the existing system, and use it to charge the battery with power from the grid.

May be impossible to achieve automatic changeover with the existing setup, except you/he get(s) an automatic transfer switch.

BangaRice:
the solar panels, inverter, controller and battery already exists. Dude just need something to help use NEPA light to charge the battery and automatically switch-over between NEPA and GRID. Dont know if a small 12v system exists for such thats why i hit nairaland.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by xzynwa: 12:58pm On Aug 16, 2025
From the total power consumption of the appliances listed which is 5910w, you should go for a 10kw or at best 12kw inverter.

The is reason is quite simple. Considering things like safety factors, assumptions based on you not physically present for on-site assessments and likelihood of the hospital using other appliances not earlier listed (remember, when this inverter sleep starts getting sweet the user will like to throw in appliances not earlier budgeted) 😴 😀

A likely pointer to the inverter size could be the size of the generator used to power those loads. Get the generator power capacity and oversize it slightly and you get the answer to it.

A 6000w load at 6 hours would be 36kwh. At 80% depth of discharge you will need 45kwh of battery storage to achieve that. Trust me, you will need more than that.

Since there would be grid power to charge the battery, you may get by with roughly about 15-20kwp of solar power.

Mind you, the above suggestion is based on you relying on the information provided by an organisation that may beyond the listed appliances, and stressing the setup beyond what an informed user may decide to do.

Finally, a job like this requires one to have an on-site inspection and critical questions asked than relying on assumptions to avoid stories that touch and "solar na scam"

ask4bk:
Nna eh.
I ask WAEC question, you change am to JAMB question 😁😁🤣.

It'll only replace gen, meaning it's purpose is only to take up those hours when there's no nepa (let's say max 5 hours no nepa - but you can't trust nepa sha). They still intend to use nepa.
Forget the fridge watts, u can clearly see it's a mistake.
Assume that they'll be powered at same time.
Any where could be upgraded any time.

dollarnaira

I was thinking at least 30kwh battery.
Its inverter to use that's cracking me head.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by xzynwa: 9:04pm On Aug 15, 2025
This ain't detailed enough for one to give a suggestion.

Answers to the following question will give a clearer information to what the recommended setup could look like.

Does the hospital plan to go completely offgrid?

Will all the loads be powered at the same time?

What are the critical loads and for how many hours would they be powered?

How many hours of grid power is available?

Would there be room for upgrade or addition of other appliances?

By the way, what about the 3 fridges/freezers at 1500w each still giving a total of 1500w?

ask4bk:
You are a solar engineer and a hospital gives you this load capacity. 5910w.
Note the high power equipment in that load.

What materials do you suggest them to get for a good solar alternative power solution?

Battery kwh, panel kwh, low/high freq inverter? External charge controller?

Experts give ur suggestion.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by xzynwa: 11:24am On Aug 06, 2025
Just trying to tread on the path of caution and safety since it was not clearly stated on the inverter.

Because higher capacity inverters like growatt 6kva has 16A max solar input, and deye 6kva doing between 18-20A.

And pushing around 18A into a 1000w inverter just getting me concerned 😟

Mrreed:
Except I am misunderstanding your concern, the scenario where you will get 23a current from your single 600w panel will most likely never happen. You might never see 20a sef.
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by xzynwa: 10:45am On Aug 06, 2025
I'm just concerned about the max solar input which could go up to as high as 23A.

Should I go ahead and not be bothered about it 🤔

Valto:
no issue bro. 600w is the max it can produce . u can slightly oversize it. i have the same inverter working with 2pcs of 400w panels for over one year now
Satellite TV TechnologyRe: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by xzynwa: 8:21pm On Aug 05, 2025
I want to get this welion 12v 1kva hybrid inverter.

From data sheet, the max solar power is 600w.

The max voltage input is 150vdc.

Max mppt solar charge current is 40amp.

The problem is that the manual does not have max solar current input.

Meanwhile, the plan is to use a single 605w ZNshine bifacial solar panel with;
Vmp: 34.7
Imp : 17.44
Voc : 41.7
Isc : 18.37

With a 25% rear side gain, it has the following ratings;
Pmax: 756w
Vmp:34.8
lmp: 21.73
Voc: 40.8
lsc: 22.89

I am really bothered about not going above the max solar input current.

Can this solar panel work together with the inverter with any issues as regards the input solar current.

Does the max solar input current not matter?

His likes care less about reputation and repeat business, because they will always get by regardless.

The uninformed are their prey.

Despite the bad name and reputation Alaba international market has with rebadging and inflation of solar panel rated output, they still sell more units than Fouani and the likes.
