The Volvo XC 90 SUV produced 3 different versions namely:

The Volvo 3.2L Engine version (V6 Engine)

The Volvo XC90 T5 version (synonymous to V5 Engine)

The Volvo 4.4-liter V8 Engine

I know this because the T5 is said to be the most reliable model followed by the V8 models.

The V6 are said to be very problematic!!

That said, the 2004/05 2.9l 6cyl engine were very problematic and unreliable so its become quite popular around here to swap out the engine, gear and wiring to that of 2005/06 2.5l cyl . Engine, gear, complete ECU and wiring, lower engine beam, shafts and engine mounts will be swapped in. Every other thing on both vehicles are the same. I suspect this is what is likely going on here

I think the best thing is to plan ahead. That means buying a cheap CCTV camera and installing in your living room and bedroom. So when such issues come up, you have video evidence instantly that proves you're innocent and you won't even need anything else to get away with it.
